Leyland Adventures Chapter Thirteen: Part Twenty-Five

Fayemi rushed towards Glace with a tightened fist, aiming for her face. She simply stepped back to avoid the flying fist, and the many attempts that followed. Fayemi's wings carried her back, creating some space before Glace could counterattack.

As she began to form ice within her hands, Alfred stopped her.

"I wouldn't recommend using projectiles at this moment; it'd be a waste of energy. Try a different approach." He advised.

She nodded in response, using the ice to create gauntlets around her fist.

"When are you gonna get in on the action, Alfie?"

"I'm recording how she responds to your attacks and vise versa. There wouldn't be much of a purpose of me joining in; she's well-suited for multiple opponents." He promptly answered, eyeing Glace.

"Hmm, more for me then!"

With the wind flowing between her hairs, Fayemi confronted Glace once again. As she swung her fist, a rectangular mirror appeared before she could touch her. With a fierce growl, Fayemi unleashed a flurry of heavy punches on the mirror. The durable, reflective shield tanked all of her blows. She pulled her arm back, collecting power within her fist before throwing it towards the mirror. Finally, her fist broke through the shield, launching Glace far off into the distance.

Her wings kept her body from being harshly scraped across the grass. A plethora of trees surrounded her and her eyes picked up on Fayemi approaching rapidly. Hardly using a fraction of her strength, she placed a tight grip on a tree, uprooting it from the ground. Dirt rained from the roots as she held it like a baseball bat. Once her target was in the appropriate range, she swung with incredible force.

Fayemi held a firm grasp on the tree; their eyes focusing on each other as they fought for dominance. She placed most of her strength into holding Glace, gradually losing her position. Even with additional support from flapping her wings failed to keep up with Glace's superior strength. Thus, one option was available to her.

She lowered her head, preparing a chilling breath in her mouth. As her head became visible again, a continuous blast of icy wind was sprayed. The tree was dropped as Glace as a horrid screech left her mouth. Refusing to let this opportunity go to waste, Fayemi tossed the tree towards her.

She immediately formed a mirror to protect herself, sending the attack back. Unable to protect herself in time, Fayemi was struck with her own power, granting Glace the perfect amount of time to recover.

Glace picked up another tree, sending it through a mirror. As Fayemi tried to lift herself off the ground, a multitude of mirrors appeared before her. Her breath was stolen for a brief second as she clenched her fists.

"Witness the power of mirrors." Darting her finger forward, a tree was sent flying from each mirror.

Fayemi quickly formed a shield, wide enough to block the abundance of trees being launched at her. Once the storm of trees came to an end, the shield was put down.

"Nice trick, but you're gonna have to get a little more creative than that!" She taunted.

"Ok." Glace's body began to shimmer, her appearance resembling glass as she disappeared from Fayemi's vision.

"H- hey! Not cool!" She shouted, putting her shield back up. "Hey Alfie, can you see her?"

"Yes, I can. I'll direct you, just follow my directions the moment I give them."

She nodded, opening her ears.

"She's approaching you, prepare yourself!"

Her body straightened, ready for any trickery.

"Raise your shield!"

Fayemi did as she was told. Shortly after, she could hear something pounding heavily against the shield. With each strike, cracks became visible. Glace managed to shatter her shield, raising her leg for an attack. Thanks to Alfred's guidance, she grabbed her leg and threw her across the field.

"Phew, thanks Alfie!" She smiled.

"You're welcome, now please focus on the battle."

"Relax, she's not even all that difficult." Although the intention was to calm Alfred, her carelessness only made him warn her more.

Glace became visible again, wiping off the dirt from her outfit. Just then, her body shined, creating four clones of herself.

"Oh, hey. I can do that too." Fayemi copied her actions, staring at Glace in the distance.

The two sides charged towards each other. Each clone clashed with another one as Fayemi went after Glace. She avoided Fayemi's attacks, creating more copies to keep her occupied. To keep up, she did the same. Glace's clones erased Fayemi's army at a devastating rate, pushing her to produce more clones. Once Glace appeared in her eyes, she automatically attacked her, only to be another duplicate.

Eventually, she no longer had the energy to keep up with Glace, leaving herself vulnerable. Before she could figure out a different strategy, a sudden fist launched her into the hands of another clone. Fayemi was then tossed to a copy in the air, sending her straight into the ground. Excruciating pain prevented her from standing back up. Even her wings refused to function properly. The clones marched towards her as Glace was ready to secure her victory.

Unexpectedly, Alfred appeared in front of Fayemi, attracting the attention of everyone. Painful waves of psychic energy emerged from his head, disrupting Glace's ability to keeping her clones active. At last, her army vanished as she backed away to escape the range of the attack.

He helped her up, questioning if she was in any condition to continue fighting.

"Ugh...yeah, I can still fight. Just need to get myself togeth-" Fayemi paused as she noticed Glace was no longer visible. A sudden spike in energy encouraged her to stay alert.

Even Alfred couldn't spot her, realizing she must've used a mirror. Without notice, a hand seized Fayemi's wrist, pulling her in a mirror before she could fight back.

With Fayemi in her grasp, Glace sent her flying towards a palm tree, smashing right through it. With a groan, she shoved the trunk off her. Disregarding the severity of her injuries, she knew one thing. She was at Palm Tree Beach.

Multiple eyes stared her down, especially children. Their shaky, high-pitched voices were riddled with concern. Some parents even held their children back; some recognized the woman as Aradressa's friend.

"Nothing to see here, everyone. Go back to whatever you were doing." She didn't exactly expect anyone to listen, but surprisingly, they did.

"Yes, nothing to see. Run along children." Glace affirmed.

Although the children wanted to stay, their parents hastily removed them from Glace's sight.

While Glace's attention was stolen by the fleeting parents, Fayemi took advantage of the environment around her. She gathered some sand and aimed for Glace's eyes. Unfortunately, the attack was reflected into her own eyes. Her hands instantly covered her eyes as she winced sharply.

"Let's go on a little trip."

A mirror opened up behind Fayemi; Glace kicked her inside before following her.

As she landed in Kiyoshi Woods, the nearby animals fled. Glace met with her shortly after. With darkness still in her eyes, Fayemi felt her body being hoisted. Then, unfathomable pain surged throughout various areas of her body. Glace flew through the area, slamming Fayemi into any tree near her.

Her eyes eventually opened, granting her the gravity of the situation. As Glace aimed towards another tree, she felt Fayemi's hand squirm like a fish out of water. As a response, Glace opened a mirror and entered.

The two arrived in the vast, balmy sands of Calleri Desert. At last, Fayemi managed to set herself free. She landed a comfortable distance from Glace.

"You're quite durable, I'll honor this when I use your body for my painting."

"Heh, yeah I don't think so. Life is too short to get turned into glass."

"Maybe I'll use you as a trophy instead." She pondered, gazing at her figure.

In the distance, Glace detected ginormous rock structures. Intrigued, she used the wonders of nature to her benefit. As Fayemi turned, both Glace and the rock structures left her sight.

She knew her body couldn't take more of Glace's tricks. The growing pain still held her true capabilities captive. And yet, some thread of hope still remained in her soul.

In an instant, her ears picked up on the sound of a falling object. Instinctively, her wings automatically led her to safety. She didn't even bother looking at the threat, her wings took over as her body rejected her.

"Hmm...I missed." Glace launched more rocks at her as if she were a fly.

Fayemi continued to avoid the onslaught of rocks raining from above, bringing the fight to the sky. She formed a sharp, jagged blades of ice, speeding towards Glace.

She lunged the weapon at her, determined to leave a critical injury. However, Glace caught her wrist. She stared at the tip of the weapon before her eyes looked over to Fayemi. She saw a fire in her eyes, growing more intense each second.

"Hmm...not good enough." She stated, taking her into another area.

A/N: Alright. This was going to be a full fight chapter, but it got too long. Like, 2.4k words long and I was hardly done. I just didn't any readers to go through all that text, so I had to split it. That also explains why it took a while to make. I also was going back and forth between ideas. Fortunately, a part of the rest of the fight has been made so it shouldn't take too long to upload that. Thank you for reading and stay safe!
