"let's go! you need to push yourself Maya!" my mother yells like a drill sergeant.

"I'm.. so... tired..." I grunt while counting the number of push-ups I had done.

"189...190...191...192...193...194...195...196...197...198...199...200!" I exclaim letting my soar body fall to the floor.

"you're not done yet little lady, 200 was our goal for yesterday. today let's get to 300!" she yells. it's so early in the morning that it's still dark out. how can she be this energetic this early?

I groan and lift myself back up and do 100 more painful push-ups. I'm pretty much ripped at this point. 

"298..............299..............300" I wheeze before collapsing on the floor. finally I'm finished.

"great hustle honey! now let's move on to sit ups!" she says but it's too late, I'm already laying there in a pool of my own sweat snoring. 

"get your ass up off the ground!" she scolds me while picking me up using her quirk.

"mom please-" I start but then she cuts me off.

"I didn't raise a quitter! I'll give you a five minute break, then it's back to sit-ups." she offers.

five minutes may not sound like much but I'll take anything at this point. 

I collapse back onto the floor and doze off immediately. I wake up a couple minutes later to my mom picking me up.

"break time over!" she exclaims, then I hear foot steps coming downstairs. 

"hey sweetie! I brought you some water, and some food." my dad says yawning. 

I drool at the sight of the delicous eggs he has in hand. I grab the plate from him and inhale the food.

"thanks, mmf" I say stuffing my mouth. 

"you must've been hungry, she's not working you too hard is she?" he asks half joking but I can tell he's genuinly concerned.

"the sheer amount of reps is a bit much" I start but I feel my mothers eyes burning a hole in the back of my head and I stop talking.

I chug my water and my mom drags me back over to the mat to continue our workout.

a few hours later, and the sun is finally rising. I hop in the shower and lay on the floor. I make the water completely cold so that I don't fall asleep in the shower. the cold water numbs my sore body, not to mention the scabs on my back and the gash in my arm. 

after the shower I get dressed and leave for school. 

I sit down a few minutes early to class and lay my head down on my desk.

"you ok Maya?" Deku asks

"mmm" I grumble half asleep.

"Maya! get your head off of that desk! that is very disrespectful!" I hear Lida's voice, and I'm reminded of my mother. 

"I'm up!" I say holding my head up with my hands.

"sorry.. my moms got me doing non-stop training to prepare for finals, I'm just so..." I nod back off to sleep.

I wake up to the whole class freaking out.

"I've barely even taken notes this semester!" Kaminari yells.

"it's true that we haven't had much free time lately." Tokoyami says.

"what happened why is everyone freaking out?" I ask Deku who is giving a pep talk to Mina and Kaminari.

"Mr. Aizawa said that if we don't pass our Finals then we don't get to go to the training camp, I bet you're not that worried though since you ranked first for the midterms!" he exclaims.

"training camp?" I think out loud.

oh that's the camp that the league is going to attack, I hope for Deku's sake that he fails. 

"as class rep, I have high hopes that we'll make UA proud!" Lida exclaims.

"it's pretty hard to fail if you just pay attention to class isn't it?" Todoroki says.

"yeah, I don't get what all the fuss is" I say rubbing my sore neck.

"psh Maya probably cheated, it's just her nature. ya know since she's a villain and all." Kaminari nonchilantly comments.

"didn't you rank 20th in our class?" I say trying to hold back my laughter. 

"why you gotta cut me down like that" he says dramatically clenching his chest.

"hey don't you guys worry I can catch you two up on the most important topics if you want!" Yaoyorozu offers.

"you're the best Yao-momo!" Mina and Kaminari exclaim.

"I've been studying but could you help me out too? I'm having some trouble understanding quadratic functions." Jiro asks holding up her notebook.

suddenly others in the class begin swarming Yaoyorozu and asking her to tutor them.

at lunch everyone was abuzz about exams, they are all acting like this is new information. I've known they were coming up for weeks now. my mother made sure of that.

"I'm worried for the practical exams, I wonder what they will be?" Deku asks while eating his food.

"it's hard to believe they'd give us anything too crazy." Lida reassures him.

"the written exam questions will all be stuff from class so, I should at least be able to do those." Deku says shoving pork into his mouth. 

"we can't just study we also have to stay in great physical shape." he continues

"hey if any of you guys need a training buddy, please let me train with you I can't bare training with my mother for one second more" I beg.

"sure Maya! we should all train together after sch-" Deku starts but is cut off by someone elbowing him in the head.

"sorry, it's hard to miss you with that big head of yours" Monoma a kid from class 1-B says smugly.

"watch where you're going asshole!" I scold him too tired to put up with his bullshit.

"that really hurt..." Deku whimpers rubbing the back of his head.

"my bad, anyways I hear you guys stumbled across the hero killer, just like in the sports festival class 1-A isn't happy unless they're the center of attention."

"but you do realize you're not in the spotlight because people think you are good heroes, right? it's just that you keep getting into such trouble. here's some food for thought, one day the rest of us will be swept up in you're chaos and then we'll all become unwitting victims as well. what kind of horrible villains will you bring up on us? what demo-" he gets cut off by a pretty red head chopping him in the neck making him pass out.

"that's not funny Monoma! you heard what happened to them, chill out. I'm so sorry about him" she says.

"thanks Kendo!" Lida says

Kendo drags away the unconscious Monoma.

"she's like that classes big sister" Deku says.

I lay my head on the table next to my food and doze off again.
