"Hey. Jonathan? Jesus, what... what happened?" Joyce yelled as she ran into the station, making the three teens heads shoot up.

"Ma'am-" "I'm fine." Jonathan interrupted Officer Callahan. Joyce turned to the Officer, pointing at her son. "Why is he wearing handcuffs?" Powell sighed as he walked towards the group. "Well, your boy assaulted a police officer. That's why."

Kendall rolled her eyes at Powell's words, her actions not going passed Callahan as he looked down at her. "Got something to say?" Kendall raised her brows sarcastically, looking up at the Officer. "He barely touched you."

"Take them off. " Joyce yelled but both officers shook their heads as Callahan sighed. "I am afraid I cannot do that."

"Take them off!" Joyce yelled again as Hopper went to stand next to her. "You heard her. Take 'em off."

"Chief, I get everyone's emotional here, but there's something you need to see."Officer Powell said, Kendall closed her eyes as the man led Hopper outside.

Not even minutes later, Hopper came running in, slamming the box of "monster hunting tools" the teens bought onto the table in front of them. "What is this?" Joyce asked, making Hopper huff as Kendall and Nancy looked up at him and Jonathan kept his head down.

"Why don't you ask your son? We found it in his car." Hopper said, making Joyce's eyes go wide as she looked at her son. Jonathan slowly looked up at Hopper, slightly angry. "Why are you going through my car?"

Hopper looked down at Jonathan, tilting his head in annoyance. "Is that really the question you should be asking right now? I wanna see you in my office."

"You won't believe me." Jonathan quickly said, making Hopper lean forward on the desk the three teens sat at, getting right in Jonathan's face. "Why don't you give me a try? Now, I want all of you in my office."

...

The three explained everything to Hopper and Joyce and when they were done explaining, Jonathan handed the Chief the photo of Barb and the monster.

"You say blood draws this thing?" Hopper asked as he squinted at the photo before looking at the teens. Nancy shrugged, leaning back into the wall. "We don't know." "It's just a theory." Kendall added, making the man nod.

...

Hopper sighed, turning to look back at the three teens squished in the backseat of his cruiser as they watched 'Hawkins Department of Energy' raid the Wheeler home.

"We need to find them before they do. Do you have any idea where he might have gone?" Hopper asked, his voice yelling slightly, making the threes eyes leave the house and turn to him.

Kendall pulled her lips into a line, slowly shaking her head. "No, I don't."

"I need you all to think." Hopper said, making Nancy let out a small cry, shaking her head. "I don't know. We haven't talked a lot. I mean, lately..."

"Look, is there any place that your... your parents don't know about that he might go?" Joyce asked softly, looking between the three. Kendall and Nancy shrugged as Jonathan's eyes went wide, looking up at his mom. "I might."

Everyone in the car turned to him, Hoppers brows raising. "What?" Jonathan turned to him, shrugging. "I don't know where he is, but I think I know how to ask him."

...

The five ran into the Byers home, Kendall and Nancy freezing at all the Christmas lights. "Whoa." Nancy breathed out as Kendall let out an amused chuckle, looking around the room. "I know, right?"

When the girls walked into Will's room, Jonathan was halfway under Will's bed when he let out a small cheer. "I got it." He crawled out from under the bed and handed Nancy the walker talkie. She immediately turned it on to talk to the boys. "Mike, are you there? Mike? Mike, it's me, Nancy."

Static was all the group was met with. Nancy looked back at Hopper, almost as if asking the keep going. When the man nodded, Nancy turned back to the radio. "Mike, are you there?"

"This is an emergency, Mike. Do you copy?" Nancy asked, gripping the walkie in anger. After another wave of silence, Nancy groaned. "Mike, do you copy?"

Hopper stomped over to Nancy, taking the radio out of her hands to talk to the kids. "Listen, kid, this is the chief. If you're there, pick up. We know you're in trouble and we know about the girl. We can protect you, we can help you, but you gotta pick up. Are you there? Do you copy? Over."

The group was again met with silence, making Hopper sigh, punching the bridge of his nose. "Anybody got any other ideas?" Hopper asked, slamming the radio onto Will's desk in annoyance. The static of the radio made the five freeze before Mikes voice rang through the device.

"Yeah, I copy. It's Mike. I'm here. We're here."

...

Joyce, Jonathan, Kendall and Nancy waited in the Byers household as Hopper got the kids from the junkyard. When the four heard him pull up, they didn't hesitate to run outside as the four kids climbed out of his cruiser.

"Mike. Oh, my God. Mike!" Nancy yelled, running up to her little brother, pulling him into a hug. "I was so worried about you."

"Yeah, uh... me, too." Mike said slowly, his voice full of confusion, making Kendall snicker, leaning her face into Jonathans shoulder so no one else could hear her.

Nancy sighed, looking over her brother before her eyes fell just passed him to a girl none of the teens have seen before, with a buzzcut and a pick dress. "Is that my dress?"

...

"Okay, so, in this example, we're the acrobat. Will, Marcus and Barbara, and that monster, they're this flea. And this is the Upside Down, where Will and Marcus are hiding. Mr. Clarke said the only way to get there is through a rip of time and space." Mike rambled as he drew an acrobat on a tightrope on a napkin.

"A gate." Dustin said as Lucas nodded. "That we tracked to Hawkins Lab." "With our compasses." Dustin added again, making Kendall, Jonathan and Nancy's brows furrow. "Okay, so the gate has a really strong electromagnetic field, and that can change the directions of a compass needle." Dustin explained and even though they still had no clue what Dustin meant, the three teens nodded.

"Is this gate underground?" Hopper asked and before any of the boys could answer, the girl who Kendall learned was named Eleven, answered. "Yes."

Hopper turned to Eleven, tilting his head slightly. "Near a large water tank?" The girl slowly nodded at his question, freaking Kendall out slightly as she leaned towards Jonathan and Nancy leaned towards her. "How did he know that?" Kendall whispered.

Dustin, having the same confused face as Kendall, pointed at her. "Kendall's right. How do you know all that?" "He's seen it." Mike whispered

Joyce cleared her throat, leaning towards Eleven. "Is there any way that you could... that you could reach the boys? That you could talk to them in this-" "The Upside Down." Eleven said, making Joyce nod. "Down. Yeah."

Eleven slowly nodded, making Nancy's eyes widen as she straightened up. "And my friend Barbara? Can you find her, too?" Eleven turned to Nancy, a small smile on her face as she nodded.

...

The group watched as Eleven sat at the end of the table, blindfolded with a walkie talkie radio in front of her. The light above the table flickered before whizzing out. Eleven let out a shaky breath, slowly taking off her blindfold and shaking her head at Joyce. "I'm sorry."

Joyce straightened up at Elevens words, her eyes widening in fear as did Jonathans, Kendall's and Nancy's. "What? What's wrong? What happened?"

Eleven let out a small sob, shaking her head. "I can't find them." Eleven swallowed the lump in her throat before turning to Joyce. "Can I use your restroom?"

Joyce instantly nodded, standing up as she gently grabbed Els shoulder. "Whenever she uses her powers, she gets weak. The more energy she uses, the more tired she gets." Mike said as Joyce led Eleven to the bathrooms.

"Like, she flipped the van earlier." Lucas said as Dustin chuckled. "It was awesome."

"But she's drained." Mike said, making Kendall's face scrunched, leaning over the table slightly to get closer to the party. "Like a bad battery?" She asked as Joyce walked back in. Mike turned to Kendall, pursing his lips as he nodded. "Well... Yes."

"How do we make her better?" Joyce asked and Mike instantly shook his head. "We don't. We just have to wait and try again."

"Well, how long?" Nancy asked, crossing her arms. Mike turned to Nancy, shrugging. "I don't know."

"The bath." Eleven whispered, making everyone turn to her as she stood at the end of the hall.

Kendall looked at the girl curiously, creasing her brows. "What?" Eleven turned to Kendall, nodding. "I can find them. In the bath."

...

"Uh-huh. How much?" Dustin asked into the phone as he wrote on paper. "Uh-huh. Yep, all right. Yeah, we'll be careful. Definitely. All right, Mr. Clarke. Yeah, I'll see you on Monday. I'll see you on Monday, Mr. Clarke. Bye." Dustin yelled, trying to hang up the phone, making Kendall chuckle as he finally got off the phone.

Dustin tiredly slammed the phone on the table, turning to Joyce and Jonathan. "Do you still have that kiddie pool we bobbed for apples in?"

"I think so. Yeah." Joyce said, turning to Jonathan as he nodded. Dustin smiled, nodding. "Yeah. Good. Then we just need salt. Lots of it." Dustin said, making Kendall sigh.

"How much is "lots"?" Kendall asked, her arms crossed as she raised her brows. Dustin looked up at her with a tight lipped smile. "1,500 pounds." Kendall's eyes went wide as she looked away, turning to Jonathan with slightly wide eyes. "Oh, shit. He really did mean lots."

Jonathan looked at Kendall for a few seconds before sighing, turning to look at the rest of the group. "Well, where are we gonna get that much salt?"

Hopper looked off at the ground before he looked back up, lighting his cigarette. "I know where."

...

"Hey, wait. It's not gonna snow next week, is it?" Jonathan asked as he and Kendall stood outside the emergency shed, Hoper inside grabbing the bags of salt, throwing it to them.

"Worst case, no school." Hoper groaned out as he lifted two bags of salt, throwing one to each teen. Kendall snickered at the mans words, nodding her head as she put the bag in the red wagon. "Fine by me."

"Even if we find Will in there... what are we gonna do about that thing?" Jonathan asked as Hoper threw them each another bag. "We're not gonna do anything. I don't want you anywhere near this, all right? Your mom's been through enough already. And your grandma." Hoper said, turning to Kendall at his last words.

"They're our brothers." Kendall said, making Hopper roll his eyes, turning to face the teens fully. "Listen to me. I'm gonna find them. All right? You gotta trust me on this. I am going to find them."

...

"Colder!" Lucas yelled, watching the thermometer in the water.

"Warmer!" He yelled again before squinting at the temperature, nodding his head. "Right there!"

The party turned to Kendall, the three boys nodding their heads to her, making her nod as she turned on Dustin's hand-radio, setting it on the table before walking over to Hopper and Jonathan to get the salt in the water.

After about three tries, the egg finally floated in the water, making Kendall silently cheer from her arms going practically numb at the heavy bags of salt.

She slowly took her seat in between Jonathan and Nancy as Eleven climbed into the pool, floating. The only sound throughout the room being static from the radio.

"Barb?" Eleven whispered, making Nancy gasp. It was quiet for a few seconds before she whispered again. "Barbara?"

Elevens breathing started to grow heavier as the lights above the group started to flicker. Kendalls head shot up to look at the lights as she leaned towards Jonathan. "What's going on?" "I don't know." Jonathan mumbled back as Nancy leaned forward, getting closer to the kiddie pool.

"Is Barb okay? Is she okay?" Nancy asked before El let out a small breath, mumbling one word.

"Gone."

Nancy's hand flew to her mouth, the other grabbing Kendall's hand for comfort as Eleven continued to scream. "Gone! Gone! Gone!"

"It's okay. It's okay. It's okay." Joyce said, trying to calm Eleven down but she was still screaming.

"Gone. Gone!" "It's okay. It's okay." Joyce interrupted, gently grabbing Elevens shoulders. "Gone." El whispered before growing quiet entirely, the only sounds coming out of her were her uneven breaths.

"It's okay. It's okay, we're right here. We're right here, honey. It's okay. I got you. Don't be afraid. I'm right here with you. You're okay, honey." Joyce whispered, controlling Elevens breathing.

"Castle Byers." Eleventh whispered. Jonathan let out a small gasp, the two teen girls turning to him before looking back at Eleven. "Marcus? Will?" Eleven whispered as Joyce rubbed El's shoulders. "You... you tell them... tell Will I'm coming. Mom is coming."

It was quite for a few seconds before static rang from the walker talkie.

"Hurry." Will whispered. Jonathan gasped, grabbing Kendall's hand as both teens froze.

"Please." Another voice said and Kendall instantly squeezed Jonathan's hand back, recognizing the voice.

It was Marcus.

"Okay. Listen, you tell them to... to stay where they are. We're coming. We're coming, okay? We're coming, honey." Joyce whispered to El, running a hand over the girls head as whimpering filled the radio.

El suddenly shot up out of the water, crying. Joyce immediately pulled her into her arms. "I've got you. It's okay. I got you. I got you. I got you, honey. You did so good." Joyce muttered, hugging into her.

...

After Kendall found a towel to wrap El in, she walked back to the kids as Hopper, Joyce and Jonathan ran out of the gym. Kendall watched the three leave both Nancy walked out too.

Kendall sighed, sitting down beside El and wrapping the towel around her shoulders. She rubbed El's shoulders to help dry her off as she looked at the three boys. "I'll be right back." The boys nodded and Kendall sent El one final smile before walking out of the gym.

She found Nancy sitting alone on the floor. Kendall sighed, taking slow steps towards her. "Can I sit with you?" Kendall asked quietly. Nancy slowly looked up at Kendall, her eyes red from crying as she sniffled. "Please."

Kendall instantly sat next to Nancy, the Wheeler girl scooting closer to Kendall. Kendall wrapped her arms around Nancy's shoulder, pulling Nancy into her side.

"We have to go back to the station." Nancy whispered, making Kendall turn to her with slightly wide eyes. "What?" Nancy sighed, looking up at Kendall. "Jonathan's mom and Hopper are just walking in there like bait. That thing is still in there. And we can't just sit here and let it get them, too. We can't."

Kendall looked at Nancy for a few seconds before catching on to what Nancy was saying. "You still wanna try out the plan?" Nancy sniffled, wiping her nose. "I wanna finish what we started. I want to kill it."

Kendall nodded, standing up and wiping her hands on her jeans before sticking a hand out to Nancy to help her up. "Let's go then."

Nancy slowly looked up at Kendall, her eyes wide. "What?" Kendall shrugged, keeping her hand out for Nancy. "Let's kill it."

Nancy looked up at Kendall before smiling softly, grabbing her hand and letting Kendall pull her up. The girls walked out to the front of the school just as Hopper and Joyce drove away.

Kendall, still holding Nancy's hand, walked right passed Jonathan. He looked at them with wide eyes before following after them towards his car. "And where are you two going?"

"We're gonna kill that monster." Kendall said calmly, opening the passenger door as Nancy crawled into the backseat. Before getting into the car, she leaned on the door, smirking at Jonathan. "Wanna come?"

Jonathan looked at Kendall for a few before laughing, walking towards the driver door. "Hell yeah."
