The morning after the party, Kendall went to school and she could immediately tell she was one of the only people there not hungover. When lunch rolled around, she sat outside on the little benches by the parking lot. When she passed Nancy in the halls, Nancy asked if she could meet at the benches to talk with her at lunch.

When lunch rolled around, Kendall waited at the benches like Nancy had asked and when Nancy came over, she sat on the bench and sighed. Kendall looked at Nancy with an amused smile, tilting her head at the younger girl. "What did you want to talk about?"

Nancy sighed, her elbows going on her knees and her face falling in her hands. She sat there for a few seconds before turning her head to Kendall. "Steves mad at me. Apparently I did a bunch of things while I was drunk but I can't remember."

Kendall pursed her lips, moving sound on the bench so she was facing Nancy. "Well, what do you remember?" Kendall asked.

Nancy sighed, squinting at the ground to help her remember. "I remember dancing, and... spilling some punch. Steve got mad at me because I was drunk... and I apparently, told Steve we killed Barb and that he doesn't care, 'cause he's bullshit..." Nancy said before she sighed. "And I don't love him."

Kendall's mouth immediately formed an "o", not expecting that. "Oh, shit." She muttered under her breath and Nancy heard, making her let out a sad sigh. "So it's true."

Kendall turned her head back to Nancy, shaking her head. "Well, I don't know about the Barb, bullshit or the you don't love Steve parts but I know he was upset after he went to help you clean the punch off. I mean, he was... He was really upset. But he was still worried about you."  Kendall said but Nancy continued to frown, her eyes trained on the floor.

Kendall reached her leg over and lightly kicked Nancy. "You need to cut yourself some slack, okay?" Kendall told Nancy, tilting her head slightly before shrugging.

"People say stupid shit when they're wasted. Things they don't mean." Kendall said and Nancy shut her eyes guiltily before sighing. "Yeah, but that's the thing. What if I did mean it? All this time, I've been trying so hard to pretend like everything's fine, but it's not. I... I feel like there's this... I don't know, like this..."

Kendall frowned at Nancy's loss for words, knowing exactly how she was feeling for Barb going to the upside down, Kendall feeling that same guiltiness about Marcus. "Like there's this weight you're carrying around with you all the time?" Kendall asked, making Nancy turn to her. Kendall gave her a small, hoping it would reassure her a bit to know she's not alone. "I feel it, too."

"Yeah, but it's different for you." Nancy said, leaning over and resting her hand on Kendall's knee. "Marcus came home."

Kendall squinted, frowning at Nancy's words. She shook her head before looking off down to the exit of the school parking lot. "Yeah. Yeah, he did. But he's not the same." Kendall muttered. She didn't blame Marcus, of course. If she was stuck in the upside down for over a week, she wouldn't be the same as she was before either.

Nancy watched Kendall for a few seconds before scoffing, making Kendall turn back to Nancy. Nancy shook her head, looking at Kendall with an angry look. "Doesn't that make you mad? That those... those people who did this, who ruined so many lives, they just get away with it." Nancy asked and Kendall sighed, leaning back into the bench as she eyed Nancy.

"The people responsible for that are dead." Kendall said and Nancy rose her brows, giving Kendall a "really?" look. "Do you really believe that?"

After a few seconds of silence, Nancy straightened up. Her eyes slowly widened, making Kendall scrunch her face at Nancy, not catching onto what she thinking. "What?"

"I have a plan." Nancy whispered before turning completely to Kendall, startling the Rogers girl.

"Jonathan's mom's boyfriend works at RadioShack, right?" Nancy asked and Kendall's eyebrows furrowed. She still didn't getting what Nancy's plan was but she nodded nonetheless. "Yeah. Why?"

After Nancy didn't answer and a smirk grew on her face. Kendall watched her closely. She smiled, amused by Nancy's mysterious idea. "What are you thinking?" She asked and Nancy abruptly turned back to Kendall again, a small smile on her face. "Where is he during lunch?"

"His car." Kendall immediately answered and Nancy's smile grew. She nodded her head and grabbed Kendall's hand. Without warning, she dragged Kendall off the bench and eagerly dragged her through the parking lot to get to Jonathan.

"Are you gonna tell me the plan?" Kendall asked, just letting Nancy pull her through the schools parking lot. "Nope." Nancy said with a smile just as they got in front of Jonathan who was sitting on the edge of his car. Nancy smiled at Jonathan, holding onto her backpack strap. "Hi."

Jonathan looked between Kendall and Nancy and amused smile on his face. Nancy squinted at him, still smiling. "Do you wanna skip fifth period?"

...

After the three went to the video store to pick up a tape recorder, they headed back to Nancy's house. When they had to pass Karen in the kitchen, the three quickly tried to speed passed her line of sight but she saw them, smiling at Nancy bringing friends. "Jonathan? Kendall?"

Kendall shut her eyes, silently groaning before her, Nancy and Jonathan all walked backwards towards the kitchen doorway again. "Uh... Mrs. Wheeler." Jonathan stumbled out as Kendall smiled, waving as she leaned against the doorway. "Hi!"

"What a pleasant surprise." Karen sang out, stopping what she was doing to watch the teens. An awkward silent filled the four of them. Wanting to break the tension, Nancy smiled at her mom. "Uh, we have a test tomorrow." Nancy blurted. Kendall immediately smiled, nodding her head. "Yeah."

Just as Nancy was about to push Jonathan and Kendall up the stairs, Karen noticed the RadioShack bag in Kendall's hands and her brows raised in interest. "Did you go shopping?"

Kendall skidded to a stop, Nancy and Jonathan doing the same right after her. She looked down at the bag in her hands before looking back up at Karen with a lopsided smile. "Oh, uh, yeah. My Walkman broke." She said and Karen frowned. "Aw!" She said as Jonathan sucked in a breath of air, shaking his head.

"Yeah, it's a bummer." Jonathan said, a little exaggerated than it should've been and definitely more exaggerated than Kendall expected. Kendall closed her eyes, trying to think of something to stop herself from laughing. Jonathan instantly noticed Kendall trying to calm herself down, making Jonathan try to hold himself back from laughing as well.

Nancy rolled her eyes at the two beside her. Her eyes flickered to them before she turned back to her moon and smiled. "Anyway, we should go. It's a really big test." Nancy said and Kendall nodded, still trying to hound back a laugh. "You know... Stressful." She said and Jonathan snorted from beside her.

Kendall's elbow met with Jonathan gut as soon as he laughed. Jonathan grunted, his laughing stopping. Karen smiled at the the teens, gesturing her head upstairs. "Of course." She said and the three teens smiled, heading up the stairs.

"Bye, Mrs. Wheeler." Jonathan said as he started up the stairs. Kendall turned to the woman one last time and waved. "Bye! It's good to see you." She called out as Laren waved back tk her and Jonathan.

As soon as the hit into the bedroom, Kendall went to the bed, sitting on the left side of it as she grabbed Nancy's phone from her nightstand, placing it in the middle of the bed. Nancy and Jonathan took their spots on the bed; Nancy at the head of the bed with the pillows and Jonathan right across Kendall.

While Nancy typed the Hollands' phone number, Jonathan looked back and forth between the girls, a concerned look on his face. "Okay, are you sure about this?" Jonathan sighed out as Nancy finished the number. She dialed the number, out the phone to her ear and turned to Jonathan. "No." She answered as the line started to ring.

After four rings, Barbs mom answered. Nancy perked up in her spot that she had answered. "Mrs. Holland. Hi, it's, um... it's Nancy." Nancy said. It was quiet for Kendall and Jonathan considering they weren't on the phone. They turned to each other before Nancy started to speak again. "I, uh... I need to tell you something. Something about Barb." Nancy said. Her eyes flickered to Kendall, worried about continuing with the plan.

Kendal gave her a nod and two thumbs up, making Nancy slowly nod to herself, feeling more confident about the plan. "About that night... I haven't been honest with you. But I can't tell you here on the phone. Meet me tomorrow, Forrest Hills Park, 9:00 a.m. Don't tell anyone. And don't call me back here. It's dangerous." Nancy said. It was silent again, most likely Mrs. Holland replying to everything.

Nancy closed her eyes and took a deep breath ti relieve her stress. When she opened her eyes, she looked down at her bedspread and gulped. "I just need you to trust me. Please." Nancy said, not even giving a chance for the woman to speaking before she removed the phone from her ear and hung up. Nancy sighed as soon as the phone was back in its holder.

Noticing Nancy's stress, Kendall put a hand on the girls shoulder and rubbed, giving her a small but reassuring smirk. "Lets just hope those sons of bitches heard." She said and Jonathan smiled, holding his hand out for Kendall to high five. Kendal smirked at Jonathan, high giving him back, calming Nancy down slightly.
