Sans' P.O.V

I lay on my bed, or mattress really, listening to the muffled chuckles and giggles of my father and whatever lady he had brought with him this time. As usual, when I had a feeling he would come home with someone, I made sure my brother was visiting over at Undyne's and Alphys' house. I wrapped my wings over my head and somehow I managed to fall asleep. However, the night had other plans for me, like it occasionally does.

A thick darkness surrounded me, blocking out all sound so it felt like I was drowning. My heartbeat pounded in my skull and I flailed my wings in a panic, but I couldn't get off the ground, or whatever I was standing on that was bearing my weight. The only thing I got out of that was exhaustion and more panic.

All of a sudden, a bright light shone in the distance and slowly expanded. I could feel the positive energy pulsing from it. The light continued to expand, then stopped at my feet. In the bright expanse, another light, this time red, glowed from within. It formed from a dot, to a ball, to a heart, and a pair of wings slowly formed and unfolded from it.

I had witnessed something like this before, and neither me nor my dad could find its source. It was the decent of a new angel from Heaven.

I just stood there, feeling the energy hesitantly wrap around my body. It was warm, and I felt heat rise to my cheekbones as I admitted to myself how nice it felt.

Unfortunately, and much to my disappointment, the energy retreated quickly, along with the light, and I woke up to the cold energy radiating from my father.

"A new one has come down, hasn't it?" he asked, his tone of voice no different from his energy. The glowing white specks in his eye sockets seem to be studying me.

"y-yeah," I stuttered, feeling something strange within my soul. My breath was shaky and uneven as I spoke. "it... was different this time, though."

"How extraordinary. This new angel has somehow gotten you in heat, and the energy around you has changed. Along with your wings. You're craving love energy now."

I glanced at my pair of wings and indeed noticed the difference. Normally, they were a light gray, but now they were almost bone white like an angel's.

"Can you feel the energy this time?" my father asked, coming closer, studying me more thoroughly.

"yeah, i feel her energy."

"Her energy?"

I was so bewildered by the different situation that I hadn't noticed I said the angel's gender out loud. However, it felt female, but it was distant. So although had I said it with certainty, now that that had come to my attention, I wasn't as sure.

"Maybe this angel will strengthen you, if you do everything correctly."

"ya know i won't do that kind of shit. if i've yet to spark with a petty mortal, why would i try with a fuckin' angel? along that notion, when are ya gonna tell paps that he's really a love angel? or the king of angels that you're one for that matter?"

"Papyrus is... special. I won't need to until he realizes he needs it from Mettaton." I growled underneath my breath when he mentioned the robot. "As for the king, he never needs to know. He understands the situation on Earth, so this is our only paying job. Unless you are finally deciding to get one."

"let's just get goin'." I grabbed my blue jacket, which was casually lying next to my mattress. I slipped it over my wings and walked out of my room. "she's in the outskirts."

I teleported to the place I had mentioned, aka the "badlands" as most of the kids near there had mentioned it as. I slipped back into an alleyway, gripping my chest as the angel's energy suddenly grew stronger.

"sh-shit. shoulda just walked here."

"Maybe you should have," Gaster said coldly coming into the alley as well. "She's quite close now. Even I can feel her energy. However, there are also two other energies. They feel so familiar."

"can we get goin' or are ya plannin' on a bad first impression?"

"Which floor?"

"second."

Gaster started out of the alley first, and I followed quickly after him. I know I probably should have waited a bit to get used to the surge of energy, but he's not a good polite talker, so I needed to be with him to make sure he was.

I started up the steps of the shabby apartment building, glancing around to make sure no one was suspicious of us. However, no one appeared on the street. I hoped that it was simply because of the rain. I turned and entered the building, the stairs to the left catching my eye.

this feels so much like a daydream, I thought as I headed up the stairs. her energy is like a magnet, and my soul is the metal it is pulling. who could it be to have such powerful energy?

"Are you coming, Sans, or are you just admiring the sights?" my father asked scornfully.

"pft, what sights? just bein' more cautious than you." He grunted in response and waited at the top of the stairs.

"Are you ready to move on?" Gaster asked after a moment for me to catch my breath. Why the fuck did I decide to become so lazy?

"since when have ya worried about me? door number four," I added, knowing that was what he was really waiting for. He nodded, headed over to the door, and knocked. At least he had sense to do that.

I moved closer to the door, barely hearing voices on the other side. No matter how close I got, though, without getting too close to Gaster, I couldn't make them out. The door slowly creaked open, then all the way. A goat monster was standing there, in a gray tee and denim jeans, and his eyes revealed he was both surprised and relieved.

"Dr. Gaster," he said. "I didn't expect you to be here on Earth."

an angel? I wondered. why would he openly say "earth" in a place like this if he's from heaven? then again, why say earth at all? and how does goat boy know my father?

I pulled up my hoodie over my skull, adjusting my wings as I did so not a feather would poke out when I moved.

"Dr. Gaster! Watch out!" the goat angel shouted out. At first I looked around for any threat, until I realized the angel was rushing at me, some sort of rainbow magic in his hands. I easily blocked it with a bone attack, slipping out of my jacket since I knew I always get too into a fight when I'm in one and it would normally get ripped since it had no openings for my wings. "What do you want, love angel?" he asked scornfully, pausing in between attacks.

My magic eye ignited as he came at me a second time. Above me, I summoned an attack I liked to call a Gaster Blaster, since I would like to blast the named person in the face with it someday. My smile grew wider as the angel's expression turned to surprise and fear.

"heh. gotta admit, i didn't expect a run-down place like this to be the spot every new angel goes to," I replied, holding back my attack and only hinting as to why I was there.

"Who in their right mind would try to draw energy from an angel? It has never happened before and it won't happen now."

"then i wonder why everytime a new angel comes i dream of their soul. oh well. it's obvious you're not a new angel, so why don't ya show me where she is and i won't kill ya, goat boy?"

"You are never getting anywhere close to my sister!" He prepared himself for my attack, and somehow dodged it as the beam of light was fired toward him. I lost sight of him for a second before he came bursting from the dust, his wings extended and a sword in each of his hands. I spread my own, and flapped them once to dodge his attack. From my other side came another angel, a female human. It wasn't her energy, though. I summoned bones from the ground in front of me to dodge her magic infused knife attack, and alternatively summoned a Gaster Blaster behind me, firing it not even a second later, guessing where the first angel would be.

I glanced up and saw they were coming down on me from above. Before they could even touch me, I teleported out of the way. I could feel the toll of all this energy start to take effect, for a drop of sweat rolled down the side of my skull.

I waited for the dust to clear, and I could tell that that was what the two angels were doing as well. They had moved in front of the door, with my father watching the battle intensely behind them.

"Are you not going to help us defeat this love angel, Dr. Gaster?" the human angel asked.

"No," he responded. "I want to see how my son does against two powerful angels."

"Son?!" the two exclaimed loudly. However, underneath it, I heard a third voice, the most beautiful voice that could ever belong to an angel.
