Third Person POV 

Y/N was in the hanger with Ana and Savannah as they were walking to their separate ships. 

Savannah: So where are we going? 
She asked as she looked at Y/n. 

Y/N: Mount Glenn. 

Ana: Why are we going there? 
She asked. 

Y/N: Cayde said something about fallen being in the area and wants us to exterminate them. 
He answered before getting into his ship. 

Savannah: Oh how lovely to do a mission on a Sunday. 
She said as she gets into her ship. 

Y/N: Amanda. Open the hanger. 
He said as he sits in his seat. 

Amanda: You're good to go guardians. 
She said as she looked at them before they took off. 

Amanda: Be safe out there you three. 
She said as she heard footsteps behind her. 

???: Hello Amanda. 
A guy said to her. 

Amanda: Didn't imagine you to be down here Cayde. 
She said as she looked at Cayde and saw Ruby standing beside him. 

Amanda: Hey. Aren't you the girl that Y/N brought in with the others? 
She asked as she looked at Ruby. 

Ruby nods slowly as she looks down. 

Amanda: What's wrong? 
She asked. 

Cayde: She just had a little rough in with Y/N. 
He told her. 

Amanda: Ah I see. Kid has a rough life. 
She said as she looked at him. 

Cayde: Yeah. 
He said as he looked at Ruby. 

Amanda: Anyway why are you down here? 
She asked as she continued to work on the many other guardians coming in and out. 

Cayde: Well...I'm going out on scouting routine.
He told her. 

Amanda: Why would a vanguard be going out on a scouting routine when they can just use the radar in the tower? 
She asked. 

Cayde: Why not? Need sometime out of the tower. 

Amanda: Come on Cayde. Spill the beans. 
She said as she worked on the docking. 

Cayde: Okay fine. I'm taking this guardian and teach her a few things on the field. 

Amanda: Sure if that's wise for a new guardian? 
She asked. 

Cayde: Why not? She's with me. The best guardian there is. 
He said. 

Amanda: Okay fine but wouldn't want Zavala getting mad at you for losing another guardian. 

Cayde: I won't. 
He said as he walked to his ship. 

Cayde: Let's go kid. 
He told Ruby and got onto his ship. 

Cayde starts his ship as Ruby sits down in her seat. 

Ruby: W-W-What is this mission about? 
She asked as she looked at him. 

Cayde: Just some fallen extermination. 

Ruby: W-What are Fallen? 
She asked. 

Cayde: Just a race of aliens with four arms with ugly faces. 
He answered. 

Ruby: O-Oh. 
She said as she felt the ship take off. 

Cayde: Just a word of advice. Don't ever let them get close. 
He told her. 

To Y/N 

Y/N was siting in his seat as his ghost floated over his shoulder. 

Ghost: You know you should take it easy on the girl. 

Y/N remains silent as he flies the ship. 

Ghost: Did you even hear what I said. 

Y/N: I can clearly hear you. 
He said with anger. 

Ghost: Why are you so angry all the time. 

Y/N: What do you think. 

Ghost: You need to let go of the past. 

Y/N: So you are saying that I should just forget about them. 
He said as he looked at the ghost. 

Ghost: No. Not at all. Just saying that you stop thinking about the past and punish yourself for it. 

Y/N: Why shouldn't I. I'm the leader and I couldn't get to them in time. 
He said as he squeezed the grip of the steering wheel. 

As Y/N continued to fly to the mission area with his team, the ghost displayed a hologram of his previous team. 

Y/N: Shut that off. 
He told his Ghost. 

Ghost: Then stop hurting yourself guardian. 
He said as he stopped the hologram. 

Ana: Y/N. We've arrived. 
She told him through the ghost. 

Y/N sighs and lands while he walked out of his ship. He looks to Savannah and Ana as they walked out of their ships. 

Y/N: Hide yourself ghost. Wouldn't want you to get shot. 
He said as the ghost hides itself away. 

Ana: So this is Mount Glenn. 
She said as she sees the abandoned buildings and grimm in the area. 

Savannah: Looks like they couldn't finish the city with the grimm around the area. 

BANG 

They suddenly hear a gunshot coming from deep within the forest. 

Y/N: Let's go. 
He said as he spawned his sparrow before driving towards the area while his two teammates followed behind him. 

While the three guardians went to scout out the ruckus, Cayde's ship landed and the two step out. 

Ruby: W-W-Where are they? 
She asked. 

Cayde: Hmm. Sounds like they're heading towards there. 
He said as he spawned his sparrow. 

Ruby: Whoa. How can you do that? 
She asked. 

Cayde: All guardians have this kid. 
He said to her. 

Ruby: H-How do I do it? 
She asked. 

Cayde: Ah damn it. Forgot to take you to get one. 
He said to her. 

Ruby: W-W-What? 

Cayde: Never mind. Jump on kid. 
He said to her. 

Ruby slowly gets on as she looks to him. 

Cayde: Hang on kid. 

Ruby: W-Why? 

Cayde doesn't answer but speed towards the location where the gun fire was being heard, hearing Ruby scream as she held on. 

To Y/N 

Y/N, Ana, and Savannah got off of their sparrows as they held their weapons in hand. 

Ana: What do we have here. 
She said as she walked over to see a dead fallen on the ground. 

Savannah: Looks like something tore into it. 
She said as she saw a hole in its chest. 

Ana: Has to be the hive. 
She said as she looked at them. 

Y/N: Maybe. 
He said as he hears more gunshots. 

Y/N: Let's go find out. 
He said as he pulled out Sunshot. 

To Ruby 

Cadye: Oh. Looks like something happened here. 
He said as he saw a group of dead fallen. 

Ruby: W-W-What are those? 
She asked as she looked at them. 

Cayde: Kid. These are the fallen. 
He said as he knelt in front of one. 

Ruby: W-What are you doing? 
She asked as she stood behind him. 

Cayde: This doesn't looks right. 
He said as he looked at the dead fallen. 

Ruby: W-What doesn't look right? 
She asked. 

ROAR 

Ruby: W-W-What was that? 
She asked in fear. 

Cayde: Something big. 
He said as he pulls out his gun. 

Ruby: You're going to kill it with that? 
She asked as she looked at his gun. 

Cayde: Hey! Aces of Spades always finishes the job. 
He said as he ran towards the sound of the roaring. 

Ruby quickly followed him as she hears gunshots and sees something that made her eyes widen. 

Ruby's POV 

"O-O-Oh my god." 
I said as I looked at the thing in front of me. 

Its big body as it stomps on the ground as it big purple head looked at me. As it looked at me, I saw its head slowly lit up before I felt someone push me out of the way it shot at me. 

I felt the hard ground hit my back as I looked at the one above me. 

"Y-Y/N?" 

Y/N: I thought I told you to stay behind. 
He said with anger as blood was over his armor. 

"I-I-I-I" 

Y/N: Stay out of sight and be quiet. 
He said with anger as he pulled out of his revolver and shot at the giant as it growled in pain. 

"W-W-W-What is that thing?" 
I asked as I looked at him. 

He didn't answer me as I saw say something. 

Y/N: Savannah. Need cover fire. 
He said. 

Savannah: Got it. 
I heard her voice before hearing a loud bang as the ground shook. 

I slowly got up and saw Y/N standing with his team in front of it. 

Y/N: Good job as always Savannah. 
He said to her. 

Savannah: Always a pleasure. 
She said as she smiled. 

There I saw him smile at her, I felt my heart hurt as he looks at me with anger. Suddenly I saw the arm move and it grabbed me. 

Y/N/Savannah/Ana: RUBY! 
I heard them yell as I tried to get out of its hold. 

Third Person POV 

The three guardians aimed at the Orge as it slowly lowered Ruby into its mouth. 

BANG 

The Orge's arm was shot off as Ruby drops to the ground before crawling away in fear. 

Cayde: Hey. Don't ever chew on my hunters. 
He said as he grabbed Ruby away while the Orge attempted to grab at Ruby again. 

BANG 

Its head was blown off as Ruby looks to the side and saw Y/N's armor glowing brightly as he held a golden gun in hand. 

Ruby: W-W-Wow. 
She said in awe. 

The orge lays dead on the ground as Y/N shot it multiple times in the head with his gun before turning to Ruby. Ruby looks down as Y/N walks to him. 

Y/N: I thought I told you to stay. 
He said to her. 

Ruby looks down in shame. 

Y/N: Why can't you follow a simple order. 
He said to her with anger. 

Ruby: I-I-I

Y/N: You what. Want to be a guardian. Yet you can't even follow a damn order. 
He spat at her. 

Cayde: Whoa. Y/N. No need to get mad at her. 
He said as he got in between them. 

Y/N: And why is she out here. I thought I told her not to come out here until she's ready. 
He said with anger. 

Cayde: Y/N. Just calm down. 
He said as he placed his hands on his shoulder. 

Y/N: No. Tell me Cayde. Why is she out here when she should be training. 
He said with anger. 

Cayde: Y/N. Come on. You and I both know training is a lot different than a real battle. No need to get mad at her. 
He said as he tried to calm Y/N down. 

Y/N slowly calms down as he looks at him. 

Cayde: Let's just go home and we'll train her together. Okay? 

Y/N: Fine. Ruby. Let's go. 
He said as his team spawned their sparrows. 

Y/N waits on his sparrow as Ruby slowly climbs on while Cayde sits on his. 

Cayde: I'll see you two back at the city. 
He said before speeding away. 

Y/N: See you soon. 
He said as he speeds back towards his ship. 

Y/N: Dad. 
He mutters. 

Unknown to Y/N as he sped back to his ship, Ruby had tears rolling down her cheeks as she held onto him. 

Ruby: He's right. I'm not fit for a guardian if I can't follow orders. Least of all...
