                     Kai's POV

"Thank you." She said sounding relieved.

"So would you mind explaining how you found out you two have couple speak?" I asked.

She looked at me confused then asked, "Couple speak, what's that?"

I hold back an eye roll as I remembered she hasn't even hit triple digits yet, so of course she wouldn't know fae slang. "The new power you and Amator have is very rare and has been called couple speak by other fae."

A look of understanding came over her face. Then I added, "it's almost considered a legend, not a myth because most legends have some form of truth to them, myths usually don't."

Shock and awe invaded her expression while I tried to keep the jealousy out of mine. I glanced at my watch and portable communicater to prevent her from seeing the flick of bitterness in my eyes and saw it was almost curfew. I looked up at her and prepared to leave so I told her, "It's almost curfew I better get going."

She nodded still in shock and I left so I could get home before curfew for minors that was set for nine o'clock unless with a parent or guardian. After a little while I reached the house I shared with two other fae, or as almost everyone knows them as my "parents".

As I walked in the door my glamour fell away due to the enchantment my "dad", or as he prefers to be called John, put there went we first moved in. He's a maker fae he can make almost anything from strong glamours to objects and change existing objects. Almost all fae can make a low grade glamour to change one or two attributes of themselves and some are skilled enough to do a little more, but makers can create a full body glamour almost in their sleep. It's how we have been living under the radar for so long.

I look in the hallway mirror to make all of my glamour is off, because the enchantment has been acting up lately and if it's not all the way off it looks awful when it's reapplied. When I see my more mature face with seafoam eyes, and light brown sun-bleached hair I know my glamour is off.

I'm about to walk in the kitchen when I hear my "mom" call out to me, "Wow, I can smell your jealousy from here! What's it about this time."

Emily, the name my "mom" prefers to be called (probably because that's the name she went by when she met her amor aeternus, aka John), is an empathic fae. She can feel and sometimes smell the emotions of others. For the past 200 years the I've known her I've had to keep my emotions more in check than I did in the years before her, which was many years considering I'm now 998. In previous years she was a therapist, helping people deal with their emotions, since she knew exactly what they were feeling before they told her.

"They have couple speak," I say tiredly because there's no use denying it with her.

"Ah, so the jealousy stems from the same thing as the last few months and a hundred years ago. I mean, you always get a bit jealous of a younger fae finding their amor aeternus when you still haven't found yours; add in that she's less than a hundred and the fact that they have an extremely rare ability; yep that's a jealousy cocktail and a half. You felt similar when I met John when I was only 185, but less intense; since she now has an ability that most fae dream to have, of course your jealousy would increase." She replies knowingly.

I sigh knowing she's right for the most part, "It's not just that, what makes it worse is that she's so young that she does even know how rare finding your amor aeternus before you turn a hundred or couple speak actually is, and here I am approaching one thousand years old, still lonely! I know I shouldn't be jealous because she's my friend and now is not the best society for her to find her amor aeternus, especially his cousin is her legal match, and his cousin is an awful person who happens to have gotten his job as a Fae Enforcer endangering both of them...."

I was about to continue my rant when Emily stopped me, "Woah, stop right there, when did the his cousin become a Fae Enforcer?"

"Last night," I sighed getting back to what I wanted to tell her anyhow; I have got to stop using a teenage glamour, even with Emily's emotion limiter I'm starting to sound like a teenager again. "She told me today, last night he had his 18th birthday which of course also was the day he got his career, as you know, and it just so happened to be Fae Enforcer. Endangering both Phoenix and Amator, more so Phoenix because he is too arrogant to think that his cousin would be fae. Um... uh... There's something else too."

"And what might that be?"She asked with trepidation.

"I...um...uh...um made her a promise?" I said it after some hesitation; my voice rising at the end as if I was asking a question instead of stating a fact.

The glass that was in her hands our entire conversation slipped out of them and on to the floor shattering, spooking her unborn twins cause them to move in the womb; their thoughts frightened. It's amazing how much life an unborn child has, whether fae or not; they are alive and their thoughts are amazing to hear.

"What did you promise, River?" She asked.

Trying to avoid the topic I reply, "It's Kai this time around."

This clearly upset her as she responded, exasperated , "Kai, River, Jordan, Brooks, Beck, Wade, Kelvin, whatever water themed name you call yourself at this time! Answer my question!"

"I promised that if she gets discovered I would try my hardest to prevent her father from being discovered," I sighed as I bent down to pick up the glass, avoiding eye contact.

"You out all the fae I've known over the years should know the consequences of breaking a promise, you'll be in extreme pain 24/7 until you either fulfill the promise or become permanently crippled in some way, your body just as broken as the promise." She said getting emotional whether because of hormones or just the fact that she couldn't renew her emotion limiter, which needs to be renewed every other year, while pregnant.

"That's exactly why I don't intend to break it," I tell her sincerely as I stand up and put the glass pieces in the trash.

Hi guys, long time no see.

So how do you like Kai's point of view. We're going to be seeing a little bit more of his point of view from now on.

Which brings me to my second point I'm needing character ideas and I want them to be fae, so I'm asking you, my readers to give me some ideas include their description and any powers you want them to have and if you want them to go buy a specific name (since they're fae they'll have names), if you want you can include their age ,but it's not necessary any other details are up to you. They will appear in later chapters most likely either from knowing Kai or through some other things I have up my sleeve still. Don't worry I'll give you credit in the chapter I use your character in I'm just needing some new characters.

Thanks
-countrygirl
