Nancy's POV

It had started raining and I was sitting at one of the tables beside the glass window, while watching people walk back and forth. The temperature was getting colder and so was the glass window.

I watched as the droplets fell onto the window with a 'splat' . Then drained down coming in contact with the side walk.

" May I sit here?" someone said as they say in front of me.

" Your already sitting there" I responded to the stupid boy. It was that same boy who came earlier.

" Your so mean" He responded.

" Your so stupid" I replied as I rolled my eyes.

"Well I'm sorry then." he genuinely apologized.

"Whatever" I said turning my head to the window.

" Would you take into consideration an offer to go and...umm...drink coffee with me?" The brown haired boy asked.

I looked at him as if he were crazy. His face softened as he looked down on the table as if he was disappointed. In that moment when I had been looking at him, I realized his eyes were dark grey. It was pretty. I felt like I was looking at the clouds.

" I'm sorry" he apologized again.

He quietly fiddled with the loose string on the sleeve of his jacket. I stared at him for a reason that was probably unexplainable. The string on his jacket popped and fell to the ground beside his feet that was silently tapping on the floor. He had nothing else to fiddle with or to keep him distracted so he looked up and his stormy eyes, so naturally averted to me. I felt his stare piercing through my forehead then a smile crept up on my face.

" You didn't have to apologize" I spoke as I nervously placed a strand of hair behind my ear.

The boy did not respond. He went back to looking at the wooden table as if it had contained something interesting, unless, he was interested in wood.

" Why did you come back here?" I questioned. His head shot up as if he was actually happy that I had said something to him.

" It's the raining and I didn't want to get the books wet" He spoke as he pointed at the window indicating that it was raining.

"Oh" was all I said. And after that the silence took over. I could feel it. It was uncomfortable. I had always hated awkward silence so I'd normally avoid conversations because I'd already knew that after a few words the conversation would come to a halt like a car in front of a red light.

" I'm sorry for being impolite earlier" the boy apologized.

I didn't actually think  he'd apologize for such behaviour. I thought it was something he has probably done on a regular basis, not by accident if I shall call it that.

" I'm not exactly having the best day" He spoke then bit in his Rosy pink lips.

" Rainy days are the worst" I responded. I don't know if I was trying to make him feel better or if it was just the first thing that had entered my head.

I really did not want to return to the awkward silence. It suffocates me.

" I'm sorry too..for being so mean and sarcastic to you. " I broke the silence.

I felt good and bad at the same time. I don't usually apologize like this and I'm not usually this nice.  The boy smiled. He smiled, this is the first time I had seen him smile. His teeth were chalk white and his eyes lit up looking like when the sun was behind a cloud.

"What were you saying about coffee?" I asked, smiling at him for the first time. I think my smile was too much, it eventually erupted into a laugh.

" I'm so sorry, I have a tendency to laugh like this" I assured him in between breath's while sugar, salt, water and antiseptics ran from my eyes. It was only normal for me to cry while laughing.

" It's fine. I understand" He said as his hand made its way to my face and wiped away the single tear. I looked up at him and he smiled again.

" As I was saying about coffee. Would you like to have coffee with me. It's just my way of apologizing properly" He said politely.

" Umm..ok.Yeah. I'd like to have coffee" I spoke with a goofy grin on my face. I was still being affected by the previous laughter.

" Does tomorrow sound ok?" He asked.

" Sure..you can come back same time tomorrow" I answered.

" Sounds great" He happily exclaimed.

" Umm...I'm Nancy " I said seeing it as important for us to exchange names.

" Caelem Collin" He told me his name with as his rosy pink lips made a slight 'u' shape as he smiled.

" Why is your glasses Drew" yellow" He asked. I wondered why he asked such weird question.

" I don't know, I'm Nancy Fareham, not Nancy Drew" I spoke as I facepalmed at the questioned he asked.

...Then burst out into a fit of laughter.
