"I-I'm pregnant Adam" You tell your boyfriend

"Seriously? That's awesome news!" He says sounding really excited as he spins you around as he hugs you

You were a little shocked at his reaction. You expected him to be the opposite of what he was.

You and Adam have been in and off and on relationship for the past five years. You loved him with every bit of yourself, hence why you kept getting back with him. This time around you two have been together for almost a year. Without any problems. Everything was better than it had been in the past and you couldn't have been happier.

Then you got pregnant.

You started to worry about everything. The worst scenarios playing in your head. This was it, this is what is going to cause him to leave for good and never come back. You thought of so many negative things while trying to stay positive at the same time. Even after hearing Adam's reaction to your announcement. You still had your doubts, anything could still happen. Now that you had a baby on the way. The possibility of Adam leaving you freaked you out even more than it usually did.

Throughout the pregnancy you tried so hard to be independent. You did everything on your own. Adam started to get frustrated with you. He knew you could be stubborn but this was just too much.

"Y/N would you just let me help you. You're going to not only hurt yourself but the baby too" He yells at you as you just tried to reach for something on a high shelf and he caught you in the act

"I didn't want to bother you" You lie to him

Adam shakes his head and pinches the bridge of his nose "I told you already I will drop anything to help you" He walks over to you and wraps his arms around you "Will you just stop being so stubborn and let me help you once in a while. What's gotten into you?" He asks

You sigh as you rest your head on his chest. "I'm scared" You croak out

"Scared? Scared of what?" He questioned

"Of being alone, of you leaving me. That's why I'm trying so hard to do things on my own. In case we break up again. I know that sounds bad but we both know our relationship doesn't have a great past" You confess

Adam places his chin on your head as he continues to hold you. He hugs you tighter and sighs. "I know we don't have the greatest past but I'm not going anywhere this time. I'm not just saying that because we have a baby on the way. I'm say this because I truly love you with every bit of me. I knew that whatever this time brought us I'd stay right by your side. I lost you one too many times. I'm not losing you anymore. I'm here for the long run"

You start to tear up. Hearing how serious he was made you upset at yourself. You felt so stupid. "Adam I'm so sorry for how I've been acting ans for even thinking you'd leave me." You apologize as you look up at him

"It's alright Y/N I understand. Those thoughts cross all our minds at some point in time" He says understanding and not getting mad

From that day on you never thought about Adam leaving you again. He really stuck by his word, he showed you in so many ways that he really was staying this time.

He was such a great help from pre baby to when you went into labour and especially now. Now he was a pro, this dad thing came so easy to him.

It was your first night back at home from the hospital. You had just finished getting ready for bed when you walked passed the nursery. You saw Adam holding your bundle of joy trying to get them to fall asleep.

You smile at the scene in front of you. "What did I ever do to deserve you" You whisper not wanting to wake the baby

Adam places your baby down in their crib before turning around. He smiles at you and shrugs.

"I could ask you the same thing" He leans down and kisses you softly
