Nya's POV

People say that your first day of high school will define you for the rest of the year, unless something more embarrassing/Amazing/ life threatening happens, your stuck. But my first day, well, let's just say I've already made a pretty good first impression on my new friends.

I had so maybe questions swimming around in my brain after the..... informative lunch break. Question like:

Why are they recurring?

Do they mean anything?

Why are my friends having elemental dreams as well?

Should I tell a teacher?

My brain was really hurting with all this new information by the time I saw my chemistry class. It was like trying to swallow a full watermelon without cutting it up.

Kai was looking really distracted as we entered our room, but I presumed it was because he was a teenage boy and, well..... school. But as we trundled further into the room, I noticed the actual cause of Kai's distantness. Skylor, the girl Kai "has a crush" on, is in the same class as us. Great. But worst of all, instead of sitting where we want, like most normal teachers, the chem' teacher had decided to rip that freedom out of our life and produced a seating plan written on the board.

My emotions changed from confused to annoyed because I was partnered up with none other than the girl in question, Skylor. I took my seat next to her and gave her a half hearted smile.

"Hi, you must be Nya, im Skylor. It really nice to meet you." She said and held her hand out before giving me a massive smile.

At first I thought this was some kind of act because of the way Seliel and everyone was describing her at lunch made her out to be some kind of horrible, egotistical teenage girl, but in reality, she seems actually really nice.

As the lesson continued, I found out that she actually hates cheerleading, and all her friends are fake and only want to be friends with her because her dad is really rich and owns a noodle shop.

The lesson was nearing an end when the teacher told us that there was going to be a big chemistry project in a couple of weeks and we had to take part. And since the teacher had no sense in free will, she decided that she was going to pick our partners.

I didn't mind it because I was partnered up with Skylor, but my brother wasn't so happy about it. He was partnered up with Morro. I let out a small chuckle when I saw the look on his face.

Me and Skylor decided to meet after school tomorrow at my house to work on our project. I bet Kai we'll be happy.

When second bell went, me, Kai, Zane and Pixal all headed for the front of the school, where we had decided to meet with the others to discuss more about our dreams.

As the front of the school came into view, we saw that Jay and Lloyd were already there. When he saw me he gave me a massive smile and I returned one just as big.

I guess it's true when they say smiles are contagious. That and I may have a little crush on him. Just a little one.

"Hey Jay, hey Lloyd" I said happily, "so where are we going to go?"

"Well I was thinking that maybe we could go to this new cake shop that just opened a couple of blocks away, it has every kind of cake." Cole answered excitedly coming up behind me.

"Sure sounds fun"

A few minutes later Seliel arrived and we all followed Cole to the cake shop. I was walking next to Pixal.

"Soooooo, Jay Walker, Hu?" Pixal asked me giving me a sly smile.

"What?" I asked trying to look innocent and confused.

"Oh, come on Nya, im a robot, nothing gets past me, especially my new friends feelings for a certain someone" Pixal answered looking back and forth between me and Jay.

"I don't know what your talking about"

"Hah, you're even worse at lying about your feelings than Kai" Seliel said coming to walk next to me while chuckling to herself.

"I have no feeling for anyone," I answered crossing my arms "your engine must have overheated" I said looking at Pixal "And I think you are just seeing things" I finished looking at Seliel, before walking faster to catch up to Kai.

"You can deny it all you want, be we know it, and so do you" Seliel shouted after me.

"Know what?" Kai asked me as I caught up with him.

""Nothing, don't worry about it"

He seemed to catch the hint that I didn't want to talk about it and changed the subject. Well I thought he did....

"Soooooo, do you like Jay?" He asked me looking curious.

"Really? What is up with everyone thinking I like Jay?" I asked no one in particular and walked faster so I could walk on my own.

"Um... Sorry for bringing it up?" Kai said before going to walk next to Zane.

Okay, I know I keep telling everyone that I don't like Jay, but it's only because I don't really know everyone well enough to trust them with my secret. I know Kai will keep the secret, but he'll either tease me about it, or become really overprotective of me. My last friends I had in my old school told everyone who I liked, including the guy in question, and everyone started bullying me for it. That is partly why I agreed to move schools with Kai, to start over and get some nice, real, secret keeping friends.

As the cake shop came into view, I could see Cole getting more and more excited and hyper, Seliel had to try to calm him down. I had a sneaky suspicion that Cole and Seliel are maybe a bit more than friends, as she always sits next to him and is normally always around him. But I pushed those thought aside and decided to ask her about it later. After all, we did have a slightly bigger problem to deal with.

As we entered the shop, I immediately got an overpowering smell of delicious cakes and teas. The shop was fairly small with only 6 tables and in the far left hand corner was the till. Lined up against the back wall was all the cakes, there must be about 20 full three tier cakes, and scattered between them were hundreds of cupcakes. The walls were painted a baby blue colour and the wooden support beams were painted pink. It was the cutest little cake shop I'd ever seen. Well to be fair, it was the only cake shop I'd ever seen.

As we lined up to order, I was having a hard time deciding what to have, but in the end I settled with a big blueberry muffin and a green tea.

I went to go sit down on a big rounded table, big enough to fit all of us, and waited for the others to finish ordering.

The second one to come to the table was Seliel, and she kept looking at me and Jay and making a love heart with her hands. Kai and Zane came over next and Jay trailed after them. Next Pixal and Lloyd came over with their chosen cakes and drinks. Cole was taking an unusual amount of time but finally arrived with his cake. Or should I say cakes. He had two big slices of Victoria cake, 5 cupcakes, and a muffin. We all stared at him and his desserts, until he broke the silence.

"I like cake, ok? Don't judge me" he said taking a huge bite of his muffin.

"I sense we are putting off the chat about the dreams because we don't understand what they are about and they are scaring us" Zane says taking the words right out of my mouth.

"Zane's right, we can't keep getting distracted by food..... or girls" Cole said looking at Kai and raising an eyebrow.

"For the record, I wasn't the one who suggested to come to a cake shop and then pig out on cupcakes" Kai answered looking annoyed.

"Guys, let's not get in a fight about this, Ok?" Seliel said looking at both of them and giving them the 'i'm warning you' look.

"So why are we going to do about it?" I asked.

"I think we should tell a teacher, get an older person's perspective on it" Lloyd answered taking a sip of his soda.

"Who put you in charge?" Kai said sternly.

"He was giving a suggestion" Seliel said

"Yeah, but his attitude was saying he's in charge" Cole said taking Kai's side.

"Hey guys what happened to not fighting?" Jay answered loudly.

"Well why shouldn't I be in charge!?" Lloyd shouted.

"Because we're a team" Pixal said back.

At that moment the entire group burst Into argument. I couldn't make out what any of them were saying because they were all talking over each other. Thankfully there weren't any other people in the shop, other wise things would have gotten a bit awkward. I let them all vent out their frustration for a minute before I decided to stop the arguing.

"GUUUUUUYS!!" I stood up and yelled at the top of my lungs.

Everyone stopped bickering and stared at me with their mouths hanging open. I really didn't expect them to shut up so easily, but then I saw what they were looking at. My entire outfit had changed from my dress to a red and blue costume and a mask covering my face with a slit in it so I could see out of it. I almost looked like a..... a ninja.

"W-Woah......H-how did you do that?" Jay asked with his mouth still hanging open.

"I don't know" I answered quietly.

"I am detecting a increase in your energy levels Nya." Zane told me. "I wonder if this has something to do with the dreams we are having"

It's only then did I realise my dress and denim jacket were on my seat behind me. Somehow i managed to get dressed into this...um.... ninja costume right in front of them.

"Woah where did you get that ninja costume from? And how did you manage to get into it without us seeing you?" Asked Cole.

"It's not called a ninja costume, it's called a gi" Pixal said to Cole

"Whatever it's called, it really cool but how did you do it Nya?" Asked Jay looking worried.

"I don't know, I just felt like I had to stop you guys from arguing so I did" I said quietly.

"Im detecting your energy levels are going down, but you still have an adrenaline boost" Zane answered giving me a full body scan.

"Um... i'm guessing that you need to manually get back into your dress" Seliel said trying not to giggle."Or can you magically get back in your normal clothes. Come on, let go to the bathroom so you can change. I'll go with you"

"So will I" Pixal said standing up and taking my elbow and leading me towards the toilets.

Once inside I went straight Into the second toilet cell and got dressed, I didn't really know what to do with the gi so I just shoved it in my bag. I unlocked the bathroom stall and walked out, hoping that Seliel and Pixal weren't going to bring up the whole magically changing into a red and blue ninja gi right in front of them in under 2 seconds. But no such luck.

"So you wanna talk about what's really going on?" Seliel asked me once I came out from the bathroom stall.

"Nothings going on, i told you already, i have no idea what happened. But i am getting kinda tired, I think I'm just gonna go home" i lied.

"Are you sure? But what about your blueberry muffin?" Pixal said looking sad.

"Give it to Cole, I'm sure he'll still have room for one more cake" i answered with a small smile

"Ok, just ring us if you need anything, see you tomorrow" Seliel said hugging me before leaving the bathroom.

Pixal came up to me and also hugged me but whispered in my ear:

"I know we've only known you for a short while, but I'm glad we did meet you, i know for a fact that Jay has taken a liking to you" she finished by giving me one last squeeze and left the bathroom.

I was alone.

I decided to take the back entrance and avoid all my new friends asking if i was ok and giving me awkward hugs. As i walked home i started to think about what really just happened and why. But gave up when my brain started to adopt a painful headache.

All i could think about is what was happening to me.
