Pelco's POV

As I was putting on my necklace the next morning, I noticed a peice of paper sitting on the dresser.
The note read:

You are the reason your friends are in danger.

Who in the world is leaving these for me to find?
Could it just be a prank that has nothing to do with the mystery?

I doubted that.

I felt my necklace's deicate starshape lightly.

I remembered how proud I'd been when I wore it for the first time.
It reminded me of home, the salty sea air, the chatter of dolphins, the way the kelp swayed in the breeze.
I missed it. School was awesome, but, my heart would always dwell in that kelp forest whenever I was gone.

Again, the thought came to me; What will Mother say when she hears I'm dating a Leafwing?

I suddenly felt like my necklace was a burden, but, I couldn't bring myself to take it off.

I walked outside, my biolomimescent scales illumenating the early morning air.

"Well, fancy finding you out here", Oaktail said.

"I'm sorry, I don't think I caught your name", I said.

"I'm your boyfriend, you leaf-brain."

I laughed.

"Follow me, there's something I want to show you."

Walking with him was something I wished I could do forever.

Oaktail lead me to one of the caves that was near Jade Mountain.
I'd never gone down any of them before, but Oaktail beconed me to follow him inside, so, I did.

I kept close to him, my tail twined with his.

If only Anglefish could see me now.

There was part of me that still thought that Anglefish wouldn't want her future brother-in-law to be a leafwing, but, there was another part of my brain that said "She'd be so proud".

My glow-in-the-dark scales lit up the cave with an aqua glow.

"So, how does Aquatic work?", Oaktail asked.

"It's kind of like morse code, but underwater and with lights. We use not only our bioluminecent scales, but also as sign langauge", I answered.

"Do you only use it underwater?"

"No, we use it on land on ocasion as well, but primarly underwater", I answered.

Oaktail walked ahead a little ways.

"Ok, it's just up ahead", he said upon returning.

We walked untill we entered into a large cavern.

"Whoa."

The cave was filled with crystals of all shades of blue,  purple, red, green, gold, and silver.

It was like walking into a large rainbow mirror; if mirrors were  found in caves and insted of one mirror several small mirrors.

"It's beautiful", I breathed.

"Meh, it's ok I guess", oaktail said with a shrug.

I laughed.

"So, what are your parents like?", I asked suddenly.

"I'd say my relationship with them is pretty goood as a whole. You'd get along really well with them. What about you?"

"Um, I'd we're cool, but, I don't know what they're reaction to you will be", I told him.

"Do you have any sibs?", I asked.

"I was the middle dragonet growing up. I have a sister who's  four years older than me and then, a younger brother who's three years old", he answered.

"I have an older sister named Anglefish and and older brother named Cory and then Carp is the youngest", I told him.

"So, what's it like having a big brother?", oaktail asked with a grin.

"It's both a blessing and a curse. Cory isn't that bossy, but the annoying thing is, he still seems to think that I can't handle myself. but, he's really funny and loyal and our relationship is really good."

There was an awkward silence for a moment.

The sound of falling rain reached our ears.
"The rain is so peacefull", Oaktail said, barely above a whisper.
"Yeah, but, it's a hell to fly through", I commented.

Oaktail looked at me.

"I thought Seawings liked the water", he remarked.

"We do. It isn't the water that we don't like; it's the fact that it's harder for us to fly in it", I explained.

"Well, I'm not giving you a choice."

Oaktail darted outside and took off flying.

"Wha- get back here!"
The rain beat down harder when I flew outside to join Oaktail.

Oh, right, of course the rain has to beat down when I get outside.
Such a cruel irony.

"Oh, look, a Seawing flying in the rain", Oaktail teased.

"You are reeeally lucky I like you", I remarked.

I flew closer to Oaktail and he clased my aqua talons in his emerald green ones.

His beautiful blue eyes looked straight into my blue-grey eyes.

Oaktail lifted a talon to my face.

His touch felt like velvet.

He leaned in to kiss me, when suddenly,  a bloodcurdling scream peirced through the air.

We flew back to Jade Mountain as fast as our wing coud carry us.

There was a large trail of blood from the study cave to Oaktail's sleeping cave.

Clay, Tsunami and Sunny were aruing with a tall green and brown leafwing.

Sunny walk towards us. She was visibly upset.

"Pelco, this is Poisonleaf, Oaktail's aunt. She wants to take Oaktail back to his home in Pantala."
