Maya's POV
"Maya!" Aiden walked up to me. "There you are."
"Hey. What's up?" I asked.
"Nothing. So, I got tickets to the keynote. Since we lost to Jesse, and her friends. Wanna go?"
"Sure! What time?"
"Maybe later, around nine-ish."
"Alright. So, what do you wanna do?" I asked. There were over a million stands to go to, at Endercon, but none of them were interesting.
"I dunno. This place was awesome last year."
"Yeah, they had free cotton candy, and huge roller coasters."I smiled.
Aiden turned around. "Hey, there's a skating rink, over there. Wanna go?"
Really? Skating? He knew I was terrible at skating. "Sure." I had no idea what I said, but for some reason, we were in the rink. The skates I was wearing were really tight, and I slipped so many times.
I was slipping, and losing my balance, until Aiden grabbed my arm, and I was rolling smoothly.
"You know I don't like skating." I said.
"I know." Aiden smirked at me.
I rolled my eyes, and we kept skating, for a while.
"Oh, Maya, we gotta go." Aiden said. He skated to the side of the rink, and took off the shoes. I decided to be the most graceful thing ever to exist, and slip, every two inches I moved forward.
I eventually made my way to Aiden.
"What took you so long?" He asked.
"Well, if you didn't notice, I. Can't. Skate."
"I know." Aiden got off the chair he was sitting on. I took off my skates, and my feet were sweating, but they could finally breathe.
We walked out of the rink, and made our way to the usher guarding the show stage.
"You guys got your tickets?" He asked. Aiden pulled out two tickets for the keynote.
Before I knew it, we were inside. I couldn't see Gabriel anywhere. But that was OK, because we were here to see him.
After a while, the room got more crowded. The lights grew darker, and I knew the show was starting. I wasn't paying any attention to what the people on stage were saying. I wanted to see Gabriel. I started screaming when I heard them announce his name. And there he was. The greatest warrior in history.
"Are. You. With me?" He yelled. I continued to scream.
His speech was long, but after a while, we could ask him questions.
"I have a question, for you." A man's voice said.
"Excuse me, sir, you have to wait your turn." Gabriel said.
"Just tell me: do you really think anyone can be great?"
"With enough hard work; yes."
"So that's where I went wrong? I simply didn't work hard enough?"
The man made his way through the crowed, and pushed me out of the way. I was able to see him, now. He had long black hair and beard, and was wearing old green robes. He had a belt that crossed his waist, with a piece of lapis in the middle.
"Ivor? Is that really you?"
"You know this guy?" Another voice asked. It was- Jesse?
"I don't know if I really know him. But what I do know, I didn't like." Gabriel said.
"Why don't you tell them the real story, Gabriel?" The man yelled.
"I see time has made you bitter."
"And it's made you an even bigger fool! Now these people were promised greatness; and I'm ready to deliver." The man walked to the back of the stage, and pulled a lever, close to the floor. "I'm sorry they had to learn it this way." There was an opening in the floor, and soul sand with a glowing block in the middle were formed in a T shape. There were two skulls on the outside pieces of sand.
"Gabriel, you have to stop him!" Jesse yelled.
"Nothing built can last forever, Gabriel!" The man placed another skull on the glowing block.
"Ivor, no!" Gabriel shouted. And then there was an explosion that sent the two flying off the stage. A giant monster flew all around, and destroyed everything that it looked at.
"Maya! We need to get out of here!" Aiden yelled. I had no idea what I was looking at, but before I knew it, Aiden grabbed my hand, and pulled me out of the theatre.
The monster destroyed Endercon. Every time I looked back, it just got closer, and closer. And it kept growing, eating everything.
Aiden never let go of my wrist, he kept pulling me. I had no idea where we were, or where we were going. But I didn't care. We didn't stop running.

Aiden's POV
I was in a group with random people I never met. The monster stopped chasing us. And we were in a clearing. I didn't see Lukas or Gill. Were they OK? They were my best friends, and I started to worry. Maya was in shock, and didn't say a word.
I broke the silence. "Where are we?"
Maya still didn't say anything. She was breathing really heavily.
"Are you OK?" I finally asked.
"I'm fine. What about you?"
"Don't worry about me. I'm just glad you're OK."
I smiled. I was exhausted, cold, and sore from running so much.
Maya sat under a tree. It was night, now. The moon was very bright, but I could still see the face in it. Maya's eyes slowly closed, and she fell asleep. She always fell asleep really quickly. I never thought that I'd think that my best friend would be beautiful. I honestly loved her. AS A FRIEND! AS. A. FRIEND! Alright, so maybe I love her, a little more than that. I've known her for years, and I think I love her, love her. I sat down next to her, and couldn't resist from kissing her forehead.

Maya's POV
Inside, I was screaming. Did you really think I'd fall asleep while there was a monster destroying the world? Did Aiden just kiss me? I always pretended I was asleep. And by now, I was good at it. But Aiden just kissed me! I always had feelings for him, but never had the nerve to tell him. But I guess I didn't need to anymore.
"I don't know what to do." Aiden said. I figured he was talking to me, even though I was "asleep." "I'm honestly terrified. I'm just glad at least you're alright. I'm still worried about Gill and Lukas. Notch knows where they are." He sighed. "I don't know what I'd do if I'd lost you. You probably have no idea what it's like to lose a sister, but it was awful. I love you, Maya. I hope that you feel the same."
I was still screaming inside. Um, of course I loved him! I loved him more than anything! Might as well love him, before I can't, anymore.
After a couple hours, I fell asleep. For real, this time.
I woke up before anyone. The sun was rising, and the thing couldn't find us. But I still didn't want to take any chances.
I got up and started looking for food. I could never kill animals. I don't love them, but they have a life to live, and what if they have a family? I needed to find apples, or eggs, or something.
Or else we'd all starve.
I didn't find much, just a few apples. But that's it. I headed back for the group. Everyone was awake, and they were ready to start walking again.
"Hey Aiden." I said. He started blushing.
"Hey. You sleep well?"
"Yeah." I smiled. I didn't forget that he kissed me. How could I?
"Hey, uh, you left something, last night." I said.
"What's that?" He asked.
"This." I pulled him closer to me, and kissed him. I could hear his heart racing, but then it slowed, and he kissed me back. I never forgot this moment. Even when I got amnesia.
