*A palette is like a guide for someone who wants to remake your vector and uses the colors you provided so it's easier for them to do it. (I hope you get what I mean :>. There's no definition in Google so um, yeah...)

This is my old style :

App(s) used : ibisPaint X

Material(s) : your vector

Tutorial :
1. Make a new canvas and color the background.

2. Set the force fade to zero and choose the rectangle drawing tool

3. Draw a rectangle on a new layer, a different color than the background.

4. Add your vector and count the colors on the part you want to sample (e.g. the skin, hair, clothing, etc). I picked the skin and there are 5 colors.

5. Turn on the straight ruler and drag the circle at the side of the ruler to 90°.

6. With a small eraser size, divide the rectangles into the amount of colors.

Sidenote, if your rectangle is too small or wide, you can resize it with transform>perspective. You can do it before and after you've divide it.

7. With the pen tool, hold the screen or just use an eyedropper tool to sample the color.

8. Then fill in the empty rectangle with that color.

9. Continue till you've filled all the rectangles. You can make the sequence from the lightest to darkest, darkest to lightest, or whichever you prefer.

10. Spice it up and you're done!

*remember to mark the base color (the main color you use).
