It was New Year's Eve and the Oberoi Mansion was beautifully decorated. Anika and Shivaay were preparing some Hot chocolate while Rudy and Bhavya were sitting by Dadi's side looking at Rudra's Childhood pictures.  Jhanvi, who was standing next to Pinky saw that her daughter in law was nowhere to be seen and went to her and Omkara's Bedroom.

There Gauri sat on her bed with a sad smile on her face. Jhanvi knew why.

Because of an Art exhibition Om was away over the Holiday's and Gauri missed him badly. They had wanted to go together but Gauri wasn't feeling well so Om left her in his Mother's care. But ever since Gauri felt better she was always looking kind of sad; missing her easily irritated husband.

"Gauri Kya Hua? Are you not feeling well? Jhanvi asked and sat down beside her. She looked at Gauri's Hands and saw their wedding picture. With a smile she took the frame out of her Hand and Gauri finally looked up. The tears in her eyes were disturbing the Mother in Jhanvi so she hugged her tight. Finally, Gauri let all the tears out she had been bottling up inside the last few days and hugged Jhanvi as if her live depended on it. She didn't want to start the New Year without her Husband, the one man that gave her the most beautiful year in her life.

"You miss him I know but Om will be back in a few days dear.

"I know Maaji, I don't understand why I am so emotional about it. It's just that we were so excited to go together and then I had to get sick... Gauri whined and wiped away the Tears on her face. She must have looked hideous for Jhanvi took some tissues and gently cleaned the mess her Mascara and Eyeliner had created. She had noticed a few changes in Gauri but waited for some alone time to ask her about what was going on in her head.

"Gauri Beta? Can I ask you a few questions?.

"Of course Maaji.

"Did you miss your period by any chance?
Gauri blushed and thought about it. "It is a bit late this time but that happens sometimes.

"One more question.

"Yes?

"Are you experiencing some Nausea apart from your Emotional reactions? Jhanvi asked and Gauri nodded.

"Since when?

"For a few weeks actually. It gets worse around food and certain perfumes. Poor Om had to throw away his favorite cologne because it would make me feel queasy. That is why Om didn't want me to accompany him to Italy, he was scared that it would get worse.

A smile spread across Jhanvi's face when she felt that her suspicion might not be a suspicion at all. She led Gauri towards the Bathroom and asked her to wait a second.

Gauri did as she was told and minutes later Jhanvi returned with a pregnancy kit in her Hands. And Realization dawned on Gauri. Now she understood her Mother in Laws Questions and her unusual behavior.

"Do the test Gauri. I will wait outside.

Gauri took a deep breath and went inside to do the test. After she was done she and Jhanvi sat down on the Bed and waited. While waiting they heard Gauri's phone ring.

It was Omkara, Gauri hurriedly answered and sighed hearing his Voice. She felt at peace at last. Without him she was restless and a simple Hello would make her feel calm and relaxed.

"Are you okay Honey? He asked; sensing that something was happening.

"I am fine, I miss you. Please come back soon. Gauri said and already felt tears welling up in her eyes.  Jhanvi looked lovingly at her Daughter in Law and then at the pregnancy test.

She clasped her Hand in front of her Mouth; trying not to scream out of happiness.

Gauri didn't even notice she was too occupied listening to her Husband's voice.

"I know Honey. I promise I will be there sooner than you can realize. Just take care of yourself till I come back.

"I will try. Gauri closed her eyes a minute and listened to him breathing. It seemed as he was outside because she heard voices and laughter.

Jhanvi was waiting patiently for her daughter in law to finish the call. She knew if she would say something now she would take away Gauri's chance of telling Om the good news face to face. Finally, some Good News would be celebrated in the Family. It has been a while since they dared to hope for such a blessing. Especially from a Man like Omkara who always had believed Love and Marriage wouldn't go hand in hand.  Jhanvi looked at Gauri lovingly and thanked God for giving her Son such a wonderful Wife, a wife that made him believe in love, in marriage in commitment. She was his anchor, his Guide, she was his very soul.

"Gauri?

"Yes?

"I have a surprise for you. Omkara whispered and Gauri excitedly squealed.
"What is it?

"Close your Eyes. It will be delivered any second.

Gauri did as she was told and closed her eyes. Suddenly she heard a knock on the door and waited. Her eyes where still closed while the Door opened and someone entered the Room with a bouquet of red Roses.

"Omkara? Jhanvi said and ran up to her Son, causing the flowers to fall down. He smiled and hugged his Mother while Gauri slowly opened her eyes. There he was standing by the Door, her longhaired Hippie. She looked at the roses and then at him with a soft smile.

"You are back so early? Jhanvi asked; forgetting the pregnancy test on the bed.

Looking at Gauri, Om simply stated: "The New Year should start with me and my Wife together.

Gauri ran towards him and pulled him as close to her as she could. Omkara kissed her Head and his Mother quietly left the Room. She knew they would want to spend some Moments alone , especially so Gauri could tell him her good News.

"I missed you! Thank you so much for coming back earlier. Gauri whispered and Om lifted her up to place her on the bed when he noticed the test. He stopped and Gauri followed his gaze. Blushing she took the test and looked at the result. Jhanvi was already on her way to the rest of the family to inform them about the happy news. She knew everyone would be ecstatic and would barge in on Om and Gauri as soon as the words would leave her mouth.

"Gauri? He asked and she nodded with Tears in her eyes. Omkara pulled her into a tight hug and kissed her vigorously. Gauri kissed him back and then placed his Hand on her Abdomen.

Hearing their Family counting down the last 10 seconds Gauri placed a soft kiss on his cheek and whispered: "Happy New Year Daddy.
