I looked at my dress for the Yule ball. I was going as Cedric Diggory's date. I smiled as I looked at myself in the mirror. It was unexpected, being asked by Cedric. We had friends for the longest time, I've known him for years, going with him is such an honour.

"I've been searching for a trail to follow again

Take me back to the night we met"

"You look beautiful tonight." He smiled looking at me with those beautiful eyes. "You don't look so bad yourself." I smiled back. We continued our dance, he was in the triwizard contestant. I would tell him it was dangerous and to be careful.

"And then I can tell myself

What the hell I'm supposed to do"

"Want to be my girlfriend? (Y/n)?" His question shocked me. I had a crush on him for so long I thought he only saw me as a friend. I smiled and nodded, excitedly. Finally, I was dating my best friend.

Not to ride along with you"

It was the last day of the tournament, you had planned a big date with him to celebrate him being out of danger. You anxiously awaited for Cedric to get out, you knew that once he successfully made it out he would greet you with hugs and kisses.

"I had all and then most of you

Some and now none of you"

I saw harry walking out, he exclaimed stuff that I wasn't able to understand. I saw Cedric, my whole world came crashing as I ran to him screaming tears in my eyes. Please, anyone but Cedric.

"Take me back to the night we met

I don't know what I'm supposed to do"

Everyone paid their respects at his funeral. I stared at his grave after everyone left, tears still falling from my eyes. We had been together for no less then three weeks. Every moment filled with bliss and then he was taken from me.

After him I was unable to love again. He had been my best friend for years. He was by my side through think and thin. I planned to be with him for the rest of our lives. But he was taken from me too soon.

Most nights after I had wished I would've convinced him not to join. Knowing he only did this to impress his father. He assured me that day that he would be strong and not let anything hurt him, or hurt me. That day, it was stuck in my brain.

I would cry into my pillow as I remembered that day. He kissed my forehead then my lips, he said to me to not worry and that it'll all be alright. I wished him good luck and he was on his way. I waved good bye, I knew that once it was over I wouldn't have to worry. I planned to spend most of my time by his side, cheering him on as he fulfilled his dreams.

I tried to smile at his memories, they haunted me. We held hands, laughed and celebrated. We spoke about life after Hogwarts. He vowed to make me the happiest person in the world. He was such a Hufflepuff. I hugged my pillow tighter.

His sweater wrapped around the pillow, he had given it to me, "So you can remember me when you're sad." He would say, I didn't think I needed it but I took it anyways. There was no way I could be sad when Cedric was by side. I sobbed louder and louder. "Why did you leave so soon? It wasn't your time."
