Honeys eyes darted from side to side, she felt awkward not knowing that the kit was deaf.
"Oh," she mewed.
"Her name," Silverfur pointed to Honey, "is Honey."
"Can he hear only you?" Honey questioned.
"No, he can't hear me, we just have a special way of communicating," Silverfur mewed.

She began to look for something symbolizing honey.
A bee! She thought.
She pointed her tail at the bee, then to Honey.
"Her name... Bee?" Snowkit asked.
"Honey," Silverfur mouthed.
"Honey?" Snowkit asked again.
Silverfur nodded, "yes!"
Snowkit bounced, "Hi Honey!"
Honey waved her tail at the young cat.
Silverfur was glad the kit was so excited to see someone and to actually communicate with someone other than her.
"Silverfur?" Snowkit mewed.
Silverfur tilted her head.
"When ill I get back home?" Snowkit asked.
Silverfur stopped, shocked. She hadn't really thought about finding the kits home, his mother.
She shook her head, "I don't know," she mewed pointing to herself then looking down.
Snowkit looked at the ground and whimpered, "I miss my mama."
"I know you do," Silverfur mewed then added quietly, "I miss mine too."
She thought about the day her mother left and never came back. It was during a snow storm. Silverfur was just a kit, her and Honey and their siblings were huddled against a tree while their mother went to find food. They never saw her again.
Silverfur shook the thought away, she needed to focus on Snowkit right now.
"I miss her!" Snowkit wails.
"I-" Silverfur begins.
She nods instead of continuing.
Honey steps closer to the kit, "we miss our mother too," she glances to Silverfur.
Silverfur wriggles her ears.
"Oh yeah," Honey looks to her paws, "woops."

Snowkit begins running in circles.

"Snowkit?" Silverfur tilts her head, "what's he doing?" She glances to Honey who shrugs.
"I haven't been a kit in over 15 moons," she laughs.
