The next day, Sofia's parents thought their youngest daughter has been working too hard on making Hugo's guitar, so they sent her to spend time with her best friend.

Sofia went to spend time with Hugo at Albuquerque Palace. When Hugo left to get his enchanted ice skates, his father King Garrick and older brother Axel saw Sofia.

"Hello, Princess Sofia," Garrick smiled. "Come to ice-dance with my champ?"

"Yes, I would've invited him to ice-dance in my rink, but I didn't want him to see what I've been up to," Sofia revealed.

"What have you been up to, Sofia?" Axel asked.

"Making a birthday present for Hugo," Sofia revealed. "I know his birthday isn't for another five months—I just don't know how long it'll take me to make it."

"I'm sure the results will be worth all the hard work," Garrick smiled.

"Thanks," Sofia smiled back.

Outside, Sofia and Hugo were ice-dancing. Hugo was used to doing everything with Sofia, and he wondered what she'd been up to lately. He hoped she wasn't being a workaholic.

"Sofia, what have you been up to lately?" Hugo asked.

Sofia didn't want Hugo to know about his birthday surprise, so she lied, "My father has been having a lot of royal duties lately, so I've been helping him out."

Convinced, Hugo replied, "I see." He didn't blame Sofia for helping her father—even though she was really working on something else.

Axel was watching the duo from his and Hugo's bedroom window. He saw how happy his little brother was, ice-dancing in the rink. Sofia working hard on a birthday present for Hugo made Axel think about what he should do for Hugo's birthday. He knew it was five months away, but he couldn't help but wonder.
