The Following Day,

Prof. Alamu came into the police station to confirm his stolen goods. These boys are innocent. Please, release them immediately. He pleaded.

"You can't judge a book by it's cover sir." One of them fired. "These boys are the main suspects."

"They are orphans, I recognize a theif when I see one.'' He defended. ''These boys are definately innocent, I want to bail them."

"Okay, Prof. Alamu. You'll have to fill this form." He handed him a form to fill and sign. The professor willingly bought the bail form for us and filled it. I think he was jast a God-sent or let me say, a guidian angel to us. Finally, we were released.

He bailed us out and the police officers brought us to him.

''Thank your stars, this professor is a kind-hearted man.'' The policeman hissed and rolled his eyes at us as we finally went to Prof. Alamu.

"Thank you sir, may God continue to bless and protect you and your family." I said.

"No, it's nothing actually. To me, you boys are not guilty, even a blind man would see from your appearances."

"No one listened to us, you're a God-sent sir." Oyin postrated in front of him.

"Just be careful in case of next time." He warned. We smiled and nodded in agreement.

"And thanks a lot for getting back my suitcases. I have something for you." He said and we happily followed him to the boot of his jeep.

He dropped in the suitcases and gave us news #20 naira notes each.

"Thanks again, Prof. Alamu." We greeted before he finally zoomed away pouring dusts on our faces as if were blessings.

We stared at the money in our hands, knowing it would barely last us a meal.

"Why are humans so stingy and greedy?" Oyin started. "We saved his files and money. The money that worth million of dollars and he gave us this? What did he take us for? Beggars?"

"Yes, I agree with you, Oyin. That man is ungrateful. He could have done better." Daniel supported.

"Hmmm... Oyin. Be contented with what you have. The kind professor gave us freedom, remember? Be grateful for your life, my brother." I replied him.

"Whatever! I just think he would have done something more. With all the thankings and postrations..."

"Na you Sabi. Let's go and look for work." Samuel laughed away.

"I'm starving o, why don't we gather the money and buy bread."

"Yes... That's a good idea."

"Tunde, you're the youngest. Go and buy us bread from mama Tosin."

I agreed. And I accepted Yes, I stole one bread, I caused it and it's no one's fault.

I stole a bread with the four I bought, and the shop keeper caught me. She called people and they chased after me aimlessly in the market.

Before I got to where the rest were, they had already informed us to the police saying, we robbed her shop and it wasn't the first time. This incident happened just immediately, and the police were happy to have us again. At least, with these accusations.
