Peter was the spitting image of his mother, save for his brown eyes which he had inherited from his father. Which is way Richard treated him horribly, he was a constant reminder of the affair his wife had with Tony Stark. That's why whenever he got the chance, or whenever he felt like he would yell at Peter. Most of the time it was for no reason and the young boy would cry, which only made Richard angrier. Even in her worsening condition, Mary would never let him go too far.

"You will do what I say!" Richard yelled as the three year old flinched in the corner. All Peter had done was asked to go outside but of course Richard was an abusive asshole about it.
"No you're awful Daddy!" Peter yelled back. He would not do what Richard said, nor would he back down. He had his mother's strong will and spirit. He also had his father's resilience, which meant he was a fighter. Angry Richard tried to hit the boy but Mary grabbed his arm and pulled her husband away.
"Leave him alone Richard! " She yelled.

"Or what?" He asked mockingly pushing her away and making her cough.
"Or I will leave your sorry ass and this time I won't be coming back!" She screamed and he stopped. Because if she left and went anywhere, even to Tony he would get locked up. Which he couldn't go there, so he agreed to stop.
"Fine but know this you and that little runt are not going anywhere! " He declared. Mary coughed in his face in response, he made a disgusted face at the thought of getting sick.
"Mommy!" Peter exclaimed running over to his mother in concern. He never liked when she coughed, it meant that she was still sick. These past few days her cough had been more frequent.

"I'm fine baby, come on let's go outside I'll take you, " Mary said to her son.
"Yay thank you mommy!" Peter responded. The little boy thought then, that everything would be okay but he was wrong. A few days later after he at the playground, he saw a girl about his age getting picked on by another boy. Peter raced to her defense even though he didn't know who she was, and punched the boy in the nose.
"Oww I will get you for this!" He promised as he ran away clutching his bloody nose.
"Thank you, " the girl said to him.

She was quite pretty, dark skin, curly hair and brown eyes.
"Your welcome, who are you?" Peter asked. Before the little girl could answer a woman called for.
"Michelle!"
"That's my mommy, bye!" She said running off. While he didn't regret what he did, nobody should be picked on. However the second Richard found out about it, he lectured Peter for a long while and threatened to lock him in his room. If he did anything like that again.

The little boy was sad, and wished he knew why his daddy didn't love him. Later that day the young Peter Parker was being pushed into his mother's room by his father, Mary had been very sick ever since he was a baby and he desperately wanted his mommy to get better. Mary let out a series of coughs before she noticed her three year son was in her room.
"Hi honey, " she said to him trying her best to smile and Peter immediately ran to her.
"Mommy I don't want you to be sick anymore! " Peter cried as he hugged her and Mary barely had the strength to hold him.

"I know baby but we don't always get what we want, " Mary said to him gently stroking his face, she knew that her time to go was approaching soon that's why she wanted to see her son. She didn't want to leave him because he didn't even know who his real father was or about she used to work as a shield agent. "Daddy said that you got into a fight with another kid at the playground, " Mary said and Peter frowned at this. His daddy didn't like him very much for some reason so of course he got in trouble for stopping a bully.
"Yes but I didn't mean too this kid was being a meanie to a little girl and I had to stop him but I won't do it again I want you to be proud. "

Peter cried and Mary saw that he was a lot more than his father than she thought. Not her husband though Richard cared only about himself but Tony wasn't like that, well he was a typical play boy and self centered sure. But Mary knew that underneath all of those snarky comments was a kind hearted man. She only wished that Peter knew that his real father had been wanting to see him since he was a baby but her husband never allowed it.
"Oh sweetie don't you see I am proud of you, and I want you to promise me that you will always stand up to those who are cruel and unjust. " Mary said to him and grabbed his hand, Peter's welled up with tears as she said that.
"I promise mommy, " Peter responded.
