Marinette had a rough day at school.  The last day she wanted to do was talk to anyone else about it.  She arrived home as soon as possible once the class was over. She did not even take the time to speak to her friends.  She went straight to the bakery, then upstairs to her room. Her parents gave hers some space.

        She sat down to work on homework. As one can imagine it was difficult to concentrate on how badly her day went.  How was she to know Lila was back in town?  It was not like anyone warned her.  It was also unlike the others to take Lila's side. 

       Marinette finished her homework a few hours later. Then, she went out on her balcony to think. She saw a sticky note on the table. Strange she thought it has to be a long way up from the ground. She did not think anyone could climb that high.  The terlis had broken years ago as had her folks marriage.  She picked up the small scrap of paper and begin to read it out loud.

     Dear Marinette,

    Princess, why were there tears in your eyes?  No, there was no stalking involved.

    This cat assures the bluebell girl that he is an honest, reliable sort who looks out for her.  So, he might have overheard her tears in class.  Yes, Chat is in your school, does this come as a surprise?

    Hopefully, we can be friends.  Who knows perhaps in time it will heal any wounds the lovely girl has in her life.

      Marinette could not believe it. The Chat Noir left her a short, but sweet note.  Out of all the girls in Paris, France he wrote to her. She shook her head and thought there must be some mistake.

      "Friends, Chat, ha, as if that will ever happen," She said to herself. 

         Marinette returned to her room, closed the balcony door, and sat on her bed.  She felt the tears fall for the second time that day. She did not care.  She felt as if it were somehow her fault that her parents spilt up.
