(Recap: Peter is a HYDRA agent along with his super assassin team and their next mission...is to take out Tony Stark. YEET.)

Peter unslung his rifle and prepared it. Connect the scope. Check. Clean the barrel out. Check. Put the stilts on. Check. Now all he had to do was find a proper sniper nest to sight a billionaire in.

He spotted a building about a block away from Avengers tower that was nearly as tall, all the buildings around it fairly short. Perfect. Stark won't even know what hit him.

Peter scaled the side of the building easily. His dark outfit helped him blend into the night and shadows as he did so. He was sure nobody spotted him as he leaped onto the roof and got in his position.

Though it was fairly late, around eleven thirty, there was still a lot of movement on the Avengers floor in the tower. Peter pulled his mask off so that he could look through the scope correctly. It didn't take long for him to spot his target sitting casually on the couch, no idea what was coming.

Peter smiled at his luck. Out in the open. Brilliant.

"Is everyone in position?" He asked through his coms.

There was a chorus of yeses. The team was surrounding the building in a star so that Tony couldn't get away if Peter missed his shot. He rarely missed, though.

He adjusted his gun until it was aimed just right. The scope was locked on the carefree billionaire's chest. Peter breathed in and breathed out. Just another job. No big deal. He slipped his finger onto the trigger and prepared to fire.

Just then a flying blue spot caught his eye. It was heading right for the tower.

Oh no, not now, Peter thought, face going red in anger.

"What the hell do you think you're doing, Nova!" Peter hissed quietly. "Get back into position, now!"

"Sorry webs," came his reply. "Can't let you have the spotlight once again. I gotta prove myself."

"You only have a few knives on you!" Luke reminded him frantically.

Ava was panicked. "You're going to get us all killed, or worse, in trouble with Strucker!"

"I gotta do this," Sam apologized.

Peter jumped up and yelled along with his three teammates. "No!"

"Whatcha working on, Stark?" Clint walked into the room to find Tony deep in thought on the couch, holo screen projecting something in front of him.

Tony quickly closed it. "Nothing much. Old work stuff."

"Huh," the archer saw through the lie right away, but didn't comment seeing how much the billionaire had been thinking a lot about his missing son lately.

"By the way, Steve told me that he's never played monopoly before, which is insane, so can we play it in here?" Clint grabbed the milk from the fridge and filled a up a cup.

Tony shrugged. "I don't care. It wasn't important anyway, I'll play with you."

Clint side-eyed him worriedly. "Yeah, okay."

All the original Avengers ended up playing, aside from Bruce, who claimed he had better ways to waste his time and Thor, who had decided to take a 'nap' at twelve o'clock at night. It was pretty boring, even for Clint. It was almost a relief when a flying ball of light crashed through the window.

—————————

God–Why can't he just–Stupid Nova–Such a prick–Ugh damnit!

Peter couldn't even think straight, he was so angry. Sam was so gonna get it when they finished this mission.

Peter leapt across another rooftop and sprinted to the next, pulling his mask on in process. He was almost to the tower. He watched as Sam hurtled himself into the building like an idiot. As if he could take on the entire Avengers! If he died, Peter was going to kill him.

Peter whipped out a web and swung himself onto the building. Ava was already climbing the other side and Luke and Danny were on standby. There were shouts and a scream. No, Sam! Please don't die please don't die...

Peter finally made it to the floor and jumped through the broken window. The lights had gone half off and it was dusty from the floor breaking, so it was difficult to see anything. Ava appeared beside him in a defensive position, pony tail waving in the wind. Peter couldn't see her expression under her mask, but he assumed it was the same as his own.

He yelped as Captain America flew out of the dust and hit the wall beside him. Steve fell to the ground, huffing for breath. He looked up, surprised to see two masked ninjas there. Peter quickly kicked him in the jaw to keep him from getting up. Perfect super soldier my ass.

The dust cleared and Peter spotted a glowing Sam fighting off a now fully-armored Iron Man. There goes their easy kill. Hawkeye looked like he was planning to fight Nova with a frying pan, because he had no weapons. Black Widow, on the other hand, was a weapon. Her eyes zeroed in on Peter and Tiger immediately.

Ava stepped in front of Peter protectively. His mouth fell open slightly at the move.

He didn't have any time to contemplate it further, though, because Natasha had launched herself at Peter's teammate. Ava was one of his best friends - she was like his sister - and he wanted to help her, but he knew she could defend herself and they still hadn't finished the mission objective.

Kill Tony Stark at all costs.

He webbed his way over to Nova to either give him some back up, or give him a lecture. The latter could wait though, he decided and pulled out his handgun.

Stark seemed surprised to have shots fired at him. He whipped his head around to find Peter walking closer and closer with every pull of the trigger, though its only effect was distracting the billionaire. Peter was relieved when Sam took his cue and blasted Iron Man across the room.

Peter dragged Sam out of the air by his collar and shouted over the chaos. "What were you thinking? You could've been killed!"

"Sorry." Nova hung his head in shame.

Tony was standing back up from where he had crashed behind the bar.

"We'll talk about this later," Peter told him grudgingly and motioned towards Iron Man's rising figure.

Sam nodded glumly and rose above the ground again. The two approached the man of iron cautiously, wary that he was prepared now. They might have actually finished the job they had went there to do if not for the god of thunder bursting through the door, hammer, lighting, eyepatch and all.

Peter swore to himself and grabbed Nova's ankle, pulling him back to the hole in the window. There was no way the three of them could beat Thor without Danny and Luke, who wouldn't be able to get up in time to save their sorry asses.

"Go!" He yelled at Sam and shoved him away from the building.

Peter looked back to help Ava out with Widow to find there was no one to help. The Tiger was already unconscious and thrown over Natasha's shoulder. No! Not Ava! At least she had seemed to have gotten a few good hit in. The red headed SHEILD assassin spat blood and there seemed to be a nasty cut on her arm. Ava and her knives.

Still, there was no way Peter could fight them all alone, especially since the Captain looked like he was waking up from his heap on the floor.

Peter hadn't even realized Barton was missing until he was right behind him.

His spidey sense went off too late. Peter felt a hand grip his mask and rip it roughly off his head. He gasped in surprise and turned angrily back to the archer. Clint only stared at him with a confused expression. Peter didn't waste time kicking him away and webbing him to the wall, ignoring the assassins shouting. He glanced back at the Avenger's shocked faces and frowned.

Crap, they've seen my face.

Peter turned and leaped out the window before the team could do anything. He had left Ava. He had left her in the hands of the enemy. Oh please god, no. He felt tears form in his eyes.

No...

————————

Oof. I hate paining Peter. Even if he did just try to assassinate Tony, I don't care, he's still...Peter.
Anyways, hope it's okay being different then the normal superfamily stuff, I promise we'll get back to that after this one. Byee web heads.
