(Y/N and his teammates are seen doing some stuff to make their dorm cool. Y/N is preparing some breakfast, and after he's done, Nora is the first to eat as she swallows some pancakes.)

Nora: (muffled) My favorites...

Y/N: Well, time to eat.

(As everyone starts eating some breakfast, Tiny looks at the watch and it's 08:55.)

Tiny: Uh-oh, classes will start within five minutes. We're gonna be late!

(Y/N and his teammates dash as they catch up with Team RWBY and Team JNPR who are also dashing to the class. In the courtyard, Professor Ozpin and Glynda Goodwitch watch the two teams hurry through the school. Glynda looks at her watch, and Ozpin simply sips his drink.)

(Timeskip)

(The sight of an axe-blunderbuss weapon pans down to the boards displaying various species of Grimm - King Taijitu, Death Stalker, Beowolf, Boarbatusk, Nevermore, and Ursa - behind an elderly teacher named Peter Port.)

Port: Monsters! Deeeemons... Prowlers of the night! Yes, the creatures of Grimm have many names, but I merely refer to them as prey! Ha-ha!

(Y/N and his teammates are seen focusing on the class as Tiny takes some notes.)

Port: Uhhhh... And you shall too, upon graduating from this prestigious academy! Now, as I was saying: Vale, as well as the other three kingdoms, are safe havens in an otherwise treacherous world! Our planet is absolutely teeming with creatures that would love nothing more than to tear you to pieces! And that's where we come in. Huntsmen! Huntresses... (gives Yang a wink, which she groans uncomfortably at) Individuals who have sworn to protect those who cannot protect themselves! From what, you ask? Why, the very world!

Student: (raises his fist) Ayyyy-yep! (stands like this for a moment as everyone looks at him strangely before sitting down, embarrassed)

Y/N: I feel bad for him.

Risky: (smirks) I don't...

Port: Port: That is what you are training to become. But first: A story. A tale of a young, handsome man... Me! When I was a boy...

(As almost everyone is seen focusing, Weiss gets distracted by Ruby's antics, much to her annoyance.)

Port: ...Despite smelling of cabbages, my grandfather was a wise man. 'Peter', he told me...

(Y/N notices Weiss' frustration with Ruby's antics and thinks about helping, but his thoughts are interrupted by Port.)

Port: Ah-heh-hem! (he waits until he has their attention again) In the end, the Beowolf was no match for my sheer tenacity, and I returned to my village with the beast in captivity and my head held high, celebrated as a hero! (takes a bow) The moral of this story? A true Huntsman must be honorable!

Tiny: Honorable...

Port: A true Huntsman must be dependable!

Dixie: Dependable...

Port: A true Huntsman must be strategic, well-educated, and wise!

Shantae: Strategic, well-educated and wise...

Port: So, who among you believes themselves to be the embodiment of these traits?

Y/N: (raises his hand) I do, sir.

Weiss: (angrily raises her hand) So do I!

Port: Well, then, let's find out! (he turns to gesture at the glowing red eyes surrounded by shadow shaking the cage that traps it) Step forward, and face your opponent!

Y/N: Well... ladies first.

Weiss: Gee, thanks...

(Weiss Schnee, now back in her regular attire, readying her Myrtenaster at the growling creature in the cage barely seen at the end of the last episode. Her teammates cheer her on from their seats in the front row.)

Port: Allllright! (next to the cage, pulling out Blowhard) Let the match... begin!

(The professor swings down and breaks the lock, dropping the cage door and revealing the Boarbatusk inside, which immediately charges at Weiss. She uses Myrtenaster to deflect its attack and roll to the side, readying herself for its next move. The Grimm stands a distance away from its enemy, studying her.)

Port: Ha-ha! Wasn't expecting that, were you?

Ruby: Hang in there, Weiss!

(Weiss is now speeding towards the oncoming Boarbatusk, sticking her blade straight at its skull until they meet and Myrtenaster is trapped in the beast's tusks. Weiss is still hanging on to the hilt, and is tossed around as she struggles to get the rapier back.)

Port: Bold, new approach. I like it!

Ruby: Come on, Weiss, show it who's boss!

(Weiss turns to glare at Ruby, only for the Boarbatusk to turn its head and rip the sword from her grip. Myrtenaster lands far away from its master, who is knocked back by the creature's tusks.)

Port: Oh-ho! Now what will you do without your weapon?

(Weiss looks up just in time to see the Boarbatusk charge again, rolling out of the way just in time to avoid getting trampled and make it crash into a desk. Weiss rushes at her sword and slides to get it back in her hand.)

Ruby: Weiss! Go for its belly! There's no armor underneath-

Weiss: (turning to Ruby) Stop telling me what to do!

(Ruby looks hurt at Weiss' rebuttal. Meanwhile, the Boarbatusk leaps into the air and rolls into a ball, spinning rapidly in the air and landing on the ground, consistently gaining speed until it launches itself at Weiss. It comes closer and closer, but Weiss activates one of her blue-white circles and blocks the roll, leaping up into the now-black snowflake symbol and turning it blue again so she can drive the blade into the Boarbatusk's stomach. It squeals and falls silent while Weiss gasps in relief.)

Port: Bravo! Bra-vo! It appears we are indeed in the presence of a true Huntress-in-training!

Y/N: Well, now it's my turn.

(Then five different kinds of grimm show up to fight Y/N as he steps up.)

Y/N: Come and get some!

Port: Allllright! Let the match... begin!

(One of the grimms charge at Y/N, who shoots the grimm down, easily blasting it.)

Port: Whoa! That's unexpected!

(Y/N then uses his own face as a rope to grab another grimm and slam him onto the other grimms, much to Port's shock.)

Port: Did he just use his own head?

(After Y/N blasts the last remaining grimm, he strikes a victory pose.)

Y/N: You're no match for me!

Port: Bravo! Bra-vo!

(Suddenly the bell rings.)

Port: I'm afraid that's all the time we have for today. Be sure to cover the assigned readings, and... stay vigilant! Class dismissed!

(Weiss then walks away hurriedly to the exit.)

Jaune: (watching her leave) Sheesh, what's with her?

Nami: (monotone) Don't know, don't care...

(Weiss is still storming off as she suddenly stops and then Y/N comes in, stopping her.)

Weiss: What do you want?

Y/N: What is your problem?

Weiss: (sees Ruby) SHE is my problem! She's supposed to be a leader, but all she's been so far is a nuisance!

Y/N: Okay... what did she do wrong?

Weiss: Nothing! She's doing NOTHING to earn her position! She's being childish ever since she came here!

Y/N: (confused) This is your answer?

Weiss: I've studied and trained. And quite frankly, I deserve better. (starts leaving) Ozpin made a mistake!

(Y/N sighs as he remembers what his archenemy once said.)

Y/N: Well, looks like some people really hate us no matter how much we try to protect them...

(Suddenly he hears some crying noises and turns to see Ruby.)

Y/N: You heard it all, didn't you?

Ozpin: (comes in) Hmm... Now that didn't seem to go very well.

Ruby: (sobs) Is she right?

Ozpin: (laughing slightly) That remains to be seen.

Ruby: What do you mean?

Ozpin: I mean, it's only been one day.. I've made more mistakes than any man, woman, and child on this planet. But at this moment, I would not consider your appointment to leader to be one of them. (leans in so he can look more directly at Ruby and Y/N) Do you?

Y/N: Well...

Ozpin: Being a team leader isn't just a title you carry into battle, but a badge you wear constantly. If you're not always performing at your absolute best, then what reason do you give others to follow you?

(Y/N and Ruby think for a moment before smiling at him.)

Ozpin: (turning back on Ruby and Jaune, still talking to them) You've been burdened with a daunting responsibility. I advise you take some time, to think about how you will uphold it.

(Jaune nods and takes Ruby to her dorm as they are met by Weiss.)

Y/N: Oh... it's you, Weiss.

Weiss: Yeah, and I'm sorry... I shouldn't be so...

Y/N: Mean?

Weiss: Yeah, yeah...

(Y/N pats Weiss' shoulder and smiles as she smiles back, and then she goes to hug Ruby. Before he leaves, Ruby gives Y/N a quick kiss before entering her team's dorm along with Weiss. He walks away as he fails to notice Team RWBY watching him as they have only one thing in mind.)

RWBY: (in mind) Would it be possible for us to convince Ozpin to include us on his team?
