Authors note: this side story is about how the dark folk came to be and how the king of the dark folk became corrupted by the seed of evil.

Unknown p.o.v.
All I see is darkness, I couldn't feel anything, I couldn't move as if I don't have a body until I felt something pulling me up. Suddenly, I began to form arms and legs and started to feel a warm wind blowing on my newly formed body and I collapsed. I gasped for air and started panting for breath but I felt something brushed on my feet and hands. when I opened my eyes everything's blurry but I looked down and saw tall green grass brushing on my feet and hands. I shakily got up and looked around even though I was dripping with black substance, I found myself in a clearance of a forest and I turn around and I saw a large pond filled with black substance. I turn back around but I see a huge grey dragon with grass and small trees growing on its back standing near to me "welcome to the world, child" it said with a booming voice, my lips quivered as I was trying to speak but couldn't. "Your vocal chords are still developing so I recommend not to speak. Also, you need something to cover that area" said the dragon, I look down and blushed so I cover my private part with my hand but the dragon fashioned a cloth made from fibers of hemp and handed it to me so I wrap it around my waist.

"Who...... are..... you....?" I croaked but the dragon lowered it's head to my height "call me the dragon of the forest.... or at least the forest dragon" it said as I nodded and started to walk to strengthen my legs until I came across a brook, I got down on my knees and stared at my reflection and saw that I have black eyes with white iris,chalk white skin, black hair, I saw eight horns protruding around my head. After that, I got up and walked back to the dragon who is sculpting a figure from black substance but as soon as I arrived the dragon turned it's head "welcome back, I am making a mate for you" it said "a mate?" I said and the forest dragon nodded it's head "your name is Linus and you are now the king of your people" the dragon continued.

I was puzzled by what the forest dragon said given the fact that I don't know what a king does but the forest dragon started to explain to me what a kings role "to be a great and wise king, you must show kindness and compassion to your subjects and in return they will be loyal to you. I hate it when one of my creations turn into power hungry, greedy, selfish tyrants that cares only for themselves until I had to petrify them as punishment" the forest dragon explained. I can see a single tear in its eye but it wiped the tear away before resuming work on sculpting the female figure, I sit down on the grass watching as the forest dragon finished sculpting a female figure until it breathed a purple cloud onto the figure thus turning it into a living horned woman.

She has the same black hair, eight horns, and chalk white skin I have so I walked towards her and bend down as she groaned and when she opened her eyes she looked at me and I smiled at her "who.... am i?" She said "you are my wife and queen" I replied. The forest dragon faced the horned woman with a gentle smile "your name is Sarah" it said before laying on the grass exhausted "are you... alright?" I said as I approach the forest dragon. Apparently, the dragon itself used up it's powers "I'll be fine, I need to conserve my energy" it replied as I look into the sky and the clouds are of pinkish yellow and the sun is in between the group of trees "the reason why I'm creating your race is because of such entity called the seed of evil" the dragon spoke "seed of evil?" I asked "yes, the seed of evil is born from the pantheons anger and strife over humans and dwarves and it must be contained" it explained. I don't know about this entity but it sounds very dangerous to be contained.

50 years later
I glanced out the window of my castle which is still in construction and I can see the workers building the walls of the castle stone by stone until I saw the forest dragon flying towards the castle so I rushed all the way to the entrance and stepped outside. The workers, guardsmen, and the mages stared in awe and joy to see the forest dragon landing in front of where the drawbridge is going to be built "no time no see friend!" I smiled and the dragon walked towards me "50 years is nothing more than days to me but now that you built your castle on top of the pond where I made you, then there is no need for me" it said and my smile dropped "why?" I asked but no answer. The dragon held out it's talon hands and breathed a white fire before quitting, in its hand a large white crystal is formed and it is shaped like a tree "here, take this crystal into where the pond is located and place it in order to power the pond or what you now call the pool of birth, this crystal contains my will and my powers" said the forest dragon as it handed me. "Where are you going?" I asked "I am going back to the realm of the gods so I may watch over you and you no longer needed me" it said as it lifted itself off the ground and flew before disappearing and after that I did what the forest dragon told me.

300 years later
Overpopulation became a problem and I feared what will happen if it continues, my guess is a civil war or colonizing. Either way it's getting worse as I sat on my throne until my trusted battlemage entered the throne room "my leige! There's too many citizens of the city and they are getting restless, we must do something!" He yelled but I didn't say anything and as for my queen, she is getting worried. I got up from my throne and left without a word and the battlemage followed me, I traveled down the branching hallway and straight onward to the chamber of the pool of birth. I entered the chamber and walked towards the pedestal the stone cutters crafted "what are you doing your majesty?" said the battlemage but I didn't answered because I was fixated on removing the crystal to stop the overpopulation and try to colonize. I reached my hands to the crystal "stop! Don't do this!" He yelled as he run towards me but it was too late, I removed the crystal and I watched as the bodies that were forming return back to being formless black substance.

Suddenly, the castle started to rumble and I sensed the same thing for the city itself "you fool! The crystal was supposed to bind the seed of evil!" Yelled the battlemage but i handed the crystal to him and ran off to the courtyard. I managed to make it but I saw giant glowing purple roots shooting out of the ground, I had no time to stand there frozen in fear and rushed to the room with the magic circles but I can hear the battlemage keep calling my name but I ignored him. I stepped into the magic circle that leads to the scholar district and I disappeared in a flash of light, after that I exit out of the room and I see the mage apprentices and scholars running for their lives as the glowing purple roots snatched few of them and take them underground. One root snatched me and dragged me through the tunnel while I screamed, it took me to where the source is but I found out the hard way as the root belonged to a enormous oval shaped entity. I found out it was the seed of evil the forest dragon was talking about, it has lots of eyes and four mouths from which the bodies of mages and scholars are in. I tried to free myself but the seed brought me to one of it's eyes to get a better close up and then it spoke in a deep echoing voice "so you are king Linus? You shall be spared as you are now my servant" "I'll.... I'll destroy you!!" I roared but the seed of evil let out a very nasty laugh "you cannot destroy me as I am immune to poison and I can resist the element of darkness!" It said. Before I know it the seed breathed a black smoke causing me to scream in agony as I watched roots growing on my left arm and I blacked out.
