Jaden froze in realization.
"Uh...guys, it's-"

The coach walked up to her, staring at her long blonde hair. He then proceeded to study her face closely, moving his eyes to her deep blue ones.
"Williams," He said in a I'm-not-very-happy-wich-you tone.

"Y..yes..?" Jaden said, her voice cracking with nerves.

"Never, in my whole time as coach, have I ever seen such-"

"Stupidity?" Jaden said, looking down at her feet.

"No. I've never seen such bravery."

"What? Bravery?" She looked up at him, her hair flying up with the rest of her head.

"Yes. And never before, has any girl tried to get on the team." She was surprised he didn't look angry anymore.

"I...I know-"

"But I've always hoped someone would."

"Say what?"

The coach laughed. "When I was a little boy I would always watch football with my dad. I'd constantly ask him about the players, and I eventually realized there were no girls on any team. So I asked him why. He simply responded saying that 'there's never been one before.' But ever since that day, I wished and waited for someone with courage, who was brave, who was smart, and who was strong to be the first."

She blinked, her eyes wide with confusion and curiosity.

"Well," The coach said like nothing happened. "Great job offense
tryout-ers! Next up, defense!"

Jaden blinked again, very confused as she walked back to Isaac.

"Uh...." Isaac said once she got there.
"Soooooo........"

"Yeah....." Jaden scratched the back of her head.

"You're a girl."

"Yeah..... hope you're not mad."

"Mad?!" He shrieked, shocking Jaden.
"Why would I be mad?"

"Um-"

"I mean! Seriously! How?" He exclaimed, becoming less of am introvert and more of an entrovert.

"I dunno-"

"I might be friends with the first girl in the NFL! I can't believe it! You're going to make history!"

"Dude-"

"And you're going to be legend!!!! Everyone will know the name, Jaden Wi-"

"ISAAC."

"Yes, Jaden?" He said innocently.

She placed her hands on his shoulders. "Calm down."

"Sorry," He scratched the back of his ginger head. "I got a little excited."

"Yeah," She said sarcastically. "A little."

After tryouts....

"Everyone listen up!" The coach shouted.
"I just wanted you to know that you all did okay! Some of you amazed me! Some of you. The rest were okay."
"Anyway, I want you all to return here tomorrow at noon to hear the results. See you then."

They all turned around, a few eyeing Jaden still.

"Jaden! Wait!" Isaac said as she was about to walk out.

She turned to face him as everyone else left.
"Yeah?"

Isaac froze for a second.
"Could... I... could I have your phone number?"

She smiled.
"Of course," she wrote her number and gave it to him.

"Thanks," He said. "See you tomorrow?"

"See you tomorrow, Isaac."
Jaden smiled at him and walked out, leaving him smiling after her.

The next morning.....

Jaden woke up as her very annoying alarm clock buzzed.

She slammed her hand down on it and it stopped beeping.

She yawned and look at the time.

"Oh Crap!" She said.

It read: 11:46.

The stadium was an hour long drive.

After quickly getting ready and grabbing breakfast, she ran to her car and looked at the clock.

11:58.

She would barely make it on time.

When she arrived, she ran out of her car as fast as she could to the stadium.

12:58.

As soon as she got inside, Isaac came up to her.

"Where were you? I was worried about you, you know."

"A..act..actually," She panted. "I didn't know. I just got here."

"Whatever," He laughed. "Now let's go make history."

She nodded and followed him to the coach.

"Hello again all," The coach said.
"Today is the moment of truth. I will be announcing who made the team, who is backup, and who sucks. First I will be announcing defense......"

And that's when Jaden stopped listening, seeing as she tried out for offense.

After that the quarterback was announced and then Jaden started listening.

"....time for offense. There's only three spots open out of all of you. Congrats to..... Austin Rooney! You're one of the players! And the next spot will be taken by........ Isaac Patterson!"

Isaac's face lit up and Jaden fist bumped him.

"And the last spot will be taken by......."
