"...thinking of something big, has spots," Gidget spoke carefully, trying not to give anything away while she laid on her back. "It's me again. And the next one just to guess, me. Now will you shut up?!" Tiberius spat. He had been trying for hours to jump out of the hole. But it was too big. Sitting up, Gidget commented, "Just relax, okay? So and so will save us."

"Hu is not coming to save us! No one is! We have to get out of this bloody hole ourselves because you had to run off!" Tiberius shouted angrily. He whirled around and hissed. Her ears laying flat against her head, Gidget lowered her gaze as she whimpered, "I'm sorry, I just... I don't know..." Seeing how crestfallen she was, Tiberius hung his head in shame as he mumbled, "No no, you don't need to apologize. I do. I'm just so stressed."

"I wish my Maxie was here. He always made me smile," Gidget remarked. She smiled quietly as she thought of her supposed boyfriend. Tiberius still thought she was making him up. But nevertheless he nodded his head and murmured, "Norman is the sunshine in my dark world. I'd be lost without him." Thinking about his son and everything that happened, the griffin felt the floodgates open. He collapsed onto the dirt floor of the pit, crying. Placing a paw on his shoulder, Gidget whispered, "Hey, it's okay."

"No, no it's not. This is all my fault," Tiberius whimpered. Covering his eyes, he rasped, "I promised his mother I would take good care of him. But now we're in one big mess because of me." Watching the griffin, Gidget bit her lip nervously, afraid to ask the question. Summoning just enough courage, she asked quietly, "Tobias, what happened to Nemo's mother." Uncovering his face, Tiberius gazed up at Gidget with teary eyes. Lifting his head up, the griffin mumbled, "It's my fault she's gone too." His mind filled up with the memories of that terrible night...

Lightning flashed and thunder rolled. Tiberius raced through the woods, desperate to get to his home near the cliff. He had heard the screeches and roars. Something or someone was attacking the nest. Breaking through the tree line, he discovered two humans and a hulking mutant animal fighting against his mate. Her left wing hung limp yet she did not back down. Not when the nest was in danger.

One of the humans shouted and pointed at Tiberius, seeing him there. The other aimed a gun at him and fired. The griffin dodged and the bullet missed. Letting out a thunderous screech, he launched himself at the mutant animal. He was whacked away like he was nothing more than a fly. His mate suffered the same fate. The mutant set its sights on the nest then, a hungry look in its eyes. There was a brief pause before it attacked.

Screeching angrily, Tiberius tackled the mutant from behind. His mate went for the mutant's legs, trying to knock it down or just move it away from the nest. The mutant creature simply grabbed the two griffins with its tentacles and threw them aside. The thunderstorm above grew stronger by the minute.

Heaving himself up to his feet, Tiberius knew this fight had to end now or else all of the eggs would be destroyed. He could already feel the electricity building up inside of him. He spread his wings, ready to launch a counter strike. At the same time, the mutant lifted its head, an egg in its jaws. Hissing, the griffin's mate pounced at the mutant just as Tiberius fired the lightning bolt and his whole world fell apart...

"...in the end, Norman's egg was the only one that survived the attack with only a crack," Tiberius concluded. Gidget sat next to him with tears in her own eyes. Hanging his head in shame, the griffin rasped, "I swore to myself that I would never ever let anything happen to him from that day on." Wiping away her tears, Gidget commented, "That's a funny thing to promise."

"What?" Tiberius mumbled, confused. Shrugging her shoulders, Gidget explained, "Well you have to let something happen in his life. I know we prefer nothing bad but there won't be much fun for the little guy if nothing happens to him." The griffin hummed softly, seeing she had a point. Giving him a warm hug, the fluffy white dog pointed out, "And none of this was your fault."

"Thanks Gidget-" Tiberius was interrupted when they heard something big outside the pit.
