'Dark Link Theme' from 'The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds'

"Move!" Was all Omega heard before she was harshly shoved away. Tech's sword was driven into the wall, right where Omega had been. Tech growled, trying to yank his sword out of the wall.

"What are you?" Emerie pondered aloud.

"Figure that out later! Focus on not dying now!" Omega yelled, pulling Emerie out of the room as Tech managed to pull his sword free.

They ran through winding hallways, flew through doors and tried to find somewhere to hide. Tech followed them closely behind.

"That's definitely not Tech!" Omega screamed.

"Yeah, I figured that out a while ago! Tech would never attack us!" Emerie said.

Omega and Emerie burst through a room and barred the doors. The creature banged on the doors for a few minutes before giving up.

"He's given up...for now," Emerie said. "Where are we anyway?"

"It looks like a...I don't know," Omega said.

It was a circular room. The walls were hard to see, as it was pitch black. The floor and pillars were made of marble. The amount of dust around made it clear that no one had set foot in the room for ages, but the Calamity's destruction had not touched the room at all, not like the rest of the house. It was almost like this room was something to be found in Hyrule Castle.

Emerie ran her hand along the walls. They were made of pure stone, but as she felt it, she noticed gaps in the stone, like it had been carved. There was the occasional marble pillar separating the stone slabs. Omega had been searching for a torch to light the candles lining the pillars. She eventually found a torch and used her lighter to light it.

Omega ran the torch along the torches on the pillars, but as soon as all of them were lit, they all went out.

"Huh?" Omega pondered.

"It seems like a puzzle. Do you still have Tech's diary?" Emerie asked.

Omega pulled out Tech's diary and flipped through the pages. Then she found it. She found a poem called 'Light the Torches'. Omega read it out loud.

"When the morning sun casts a light over the land,

the forest will sing it's peaceful tune guided by a child of the forest.

The fires will be stoked in the city of rocks,

and the water will shimmer in the morning's light.

Dusk will fall, and shadow will rise,

to allow the spirit's to roam from the grave.

The Princess will sleep to the sound of her lullaby,

and dream about the seven Sages,

and the time that binds the events of fate."

"That doesn't make any sense," Omega said.

"What if, it's not the poem we have to solve. What if..." Emerie trailed off as she looked at the torches lining the pillars. "Seven pillars...seven Sages," she gasped. "Look! There are symbols underneath each candle! The poem tells the order of lighting the torches! Tech has told us the order in a written poem, classical Tech. Now, we just have to figure out what symbol means what..."

"There's a book here called 'The Era of the Hero of Time'," Omega said.

"Our answers will be there if anywhere," Emerie said.

She looked through the book and found what she looking for. The symbols of the Sages.

"The order is...Light, Forest, Fire, Water, Shadow, Spirit and...Triforce?" Emerie said, questioning the last bit.

"He never mentioned the Triforce in his poem..." Omega said. "But he mentioned Time!"

"The Sage of Time?" Emerie asked.

"Yes. The Sage of Time has the ability to travel through time. Time is the most valuable thing in Hyrule's history. They never had enough of it..." Omega said. "That's what my history teacher told me."

"Well, light the torches!" Emerie said.

Omega lit the torches using the order Emerie had told her. This time, they stayed lit. The ground shook and they looked up as the roof opened up revealing a glass dome. The sunlight shone through the glass, lighting up the stone walls. The walls did indeed have carvings on them. It seemed to be telling a legend.

"It's a...mural," Emerie said.

"Well...what does it say?" Omega asked.

"I don't know," Emerie said, grabbing her research diary. "Based off the few characters I have...this looks like Zonai writing."

"Zonai?" Omega asked.

"An ancient civilisation that lived back when Hyrule was reestablished. They went extinct ages ago," Emerie said. "Based on these pictures, it looks like it's telling some sort of legend..."

"A legend?" Omega asked.

"Wait a minute...this is the same mural that was found underneath Hyrule Castle! A squad led an expedition under the Princess's command and they found this exact mural," Emerie said.

Suddenly, a bang on the door interrupted their conversation.

"Oh no! It's back!" Omega cried. "What do we do?"

"We defeat it!" Emerie said, rushing over to the book. "There must be something in here that'll tell us what to do," she continued. "Found it! Doppelgänger! The book says to defeat it would be hard, but not impossible, however, simply showing it that you knew it's master and is a trusted ally of its master, will result in it leaving you alone."

"Well, let's get started," Omega said.

The creature burst through the door. Omega grabbed her flute while Emerie fended it off. The only problem was...she didn't know what song to play!

"I don't know what to play!" Omega cried.

"Think of something!" Emerie yelled. "The Princess's lullaby!"

Omega tried, but under the stress, she kept getting the notes wrong. She closed her eyes and tries to block out the noise, just like Tech had taught her. She breathed in and out, calming herself down. She took one final breath before playing the song, making no mistakes.

The doppelgänger stopped attacking Emerie and looked at Omega. She wore a brave expression. The ganger gave her a soft smile before disappearing into a puff of black smoke. Omega looked down when she heard a clang. She looked down to see a small tear shaped stone.

Omega bent down and picked it up. It was a white stone with multicoloured specs in it. A symbol was carved into it. One that neither Emerie or Omega recognised.

"It looks a Tear that was on the mural," Emerie said.

Emerie walked through the room before spotting a puddle on the floor and a note saying:

Water has memory.

Emerie looked at the stone before looking back at the puddle. She placed the stone in the water and an image appeared. The two girls both watched.

"I know you are confused," a woman with dark skin and blonde hair said.

She wore a beautiful gown and had various jewellery, including a necklace that help a yellow tear-like stone. She had paint on her arms and four tears painted on either side of her face underneath her eyes.

"I'm very confused," a man with brown hair said.

He wore a Zonai Attire, with a tear stone on his chest.

'Tech' by Zelda_Story_Teller

"Zelda is too...Tech," the woman said.

"I know. The thing is, Queen Sonia, I didn't arrive with a Tear," Tech said.

"You did!" Sonia said.

"I didn't fall with one!" Tech said. "I didn't know about them until now."

"Well, it's a mystery we may never solve," Sonia said, leading Tech towards where Zelda sat. "Now...let's talk."
