The Chipmunks' and Chipettes' next sleepover game...... was Would You Rather?

Again, a bottle was spun, to choose the Chipmunk who would answer the question.

Alvin wanted to spin the bottle first, and it landed on... foodie fan Theodore.

"Alright, Alvin!" Theodore said. "What's... what's my Would You Rather?"

"Well..." he began to think. "You, uh, you love food, don't ya, Theo?"

Theodore's mouth instantly began watering as he uttered those very words.

"Earth to Th-"

"Give it up, Alvin," Brittany interrupted. "Believe me, I tried. As soon as we searched a couple of restaurants, he travelled to his other planet he's always on when food's involved."

"Ooh!" Simon said interestedly. "What planet in our Solar System would you be happening to be referring to? Would it be... gas giant Jupiter? Ringed Saturn? Scorching Venus?"

Alvin rolled his eyes, annoyed. Theodore suddenly fell out of his trance.

"Oh, s-sorry, guys! I, uh... I was thinking a-a-about f-fo-"

"Yeah, FOOD. We know," Brittany snapped back.

"Anyways, Theodore, as I was saying... before Brittany RUDELY interrup-"

"Ugh! Just get on with it, Alvin!"

"See? See?! Look, she just did it again! What's with the interrup-"

"Cut to the chase, Alvin!" Eleanor pleaded.

"Alright, alright! The things I do for my siblings..." he muttered under his breath.

The group waited in anticipation for his question for Theodore.

"Teddy boy!" he called affectionately. "Would... you... rather... have a swimming pool of melted chocolate, or a treehouse made of marshmallows?"

Of course his question involved some sort of sweet delicacy.

"Oh boy... oh boy, oh boy, oh boy!" Theodore clasped his hands in delight. "They're both so... dreamy... how could I ever choose? Or maybe... if I HAD to pick, it wo-"

Suddenly, without warning, the treehouse lights flickered for a couple of seconds, before converting back to their bright radiance.

"What the-" Alvin started, outraged.

"W-w-what... what just happened?" Theodore worried.

"Ooh, I dunno, guys," said Simon. "I-I-I should probably go check the circuit breaker. Probably has something to do with that."

And as Simon got up from his pillow and headed for the door, Jeanette got up too, and ran after him.

"No, Simon!" she exclaimed. "Y-you can't go... at least, not alone..."

Simon looked at her, confused.

"I'll be fine, Jeanette. Don't worry!" he comforted.

"I'll... I'll come with you."

Simon nodded, and they both made their way out of the treehouse. The circuit breaker was just outside of the Chipmunks' house, and that was where they were now headed.

"Guys! Don't you think... shouldn't we have, maybe, you know, like, stopped them?" asked Eleanor.

Alvin shrugged his shoulders. "It was their choice. Their problem."

"Alvin!" Brittany yelled angrily. "How selfish! Seriously, to think that Simon and Jeanette had put themselves in danger for us, and THIS is how you react?"

"Yeah!" Theodore chimed in. "I mean, they c-could really be in trouble..."

"Well," said Eleanor, "guess it can't be THAT bad. It was just a flicker of the lights, after all."

Alvin suddenly sat up after having a realisation.

"Oh. My. Gosh. GUYS!!! It's not j-just a light flicker... y'all have seen the hit TV series 'Stranger Things', yeah?"

"So?" the whole group groaned in unison.

"Well... y'all would know that the lights... they s-start to f-f-flicker. Then- then- then... the monst-"

"Alvin..." whispered Eleanor. She pointed at the quivering Chipmunk. "Psst, Alvin... stop it! You're... you're scaring Theodore."

She went over to Theodore, and embraced him in a big bear hug, to comfort him.

"Don't worry, Theo. Alvin was just kidding... right, Alvin?"

"Theodore, Theodore, look. We've got ourselves in a bit of a bind here, right? But we've gotta-"

"RIGHT, Alvin?!" she repeated, slightly raising her voice.

"If we prepare to fight, then-"

"RIGHT, ALVIN?!" she bellowed through clenched teeth.

"Ugh! FINE. Yes, Theo... I was... just. Kidding."

He dangled his arms below him in defeat.

"Not my fault if we're captured by the 'Demogorgon'..." he mumbled under his breath.

"WHAT was that, Alvin? I couldn't quite hear you."

Eleanor propped her hands on her hips, gazing over poor Theodore.

Alvin shouted now. "I SAID, IT WONT BE MY FAULT IF WE'RE CAPTURED BY THE DEM-"

The lights began to flicker again, this time, incessantly. On, and off, on and off - over and over again, till it started to make the Chipmunks a little dizzy... AND scared. After a minute, the lights turned back on normally.

The Chipmunks began to wonder... Could the treehouse be... HAUNTED?
