The second I step out of the door the doubts assault me.

I look back inside and just stand there, seeing the memories and the ghosts of the past.

The emotions hit me like a truck and a hot tear slides down my cheek.

"Are you coming or not?" Derek doesn't know I'm crying so I wipe my tear and turn around with a fake smile.

"It doesnt look like I have a choice."

He smiles and opens the door of a large black car.

I sigh and enter it.

He sits next to me and when I realize whats happening it's too late.

"What the hell?!!!! Who is driving this thing if you're here?" A quick unexpected turn pushes me to the right and I hit General Pines' face with my elbow.

"Hey keep it to yourself smarty-pants" he says rubbing his forehead "It's an enchanted car it drives itself"

"A what?"

After the creepy guy and the weird cat I shouldn't be surprised but I am.

"Oh please your mother must have told you about magic" he understands I'm clueless so he adds "She didnt...? I shouldn't be so surprised Abigail always wanted you to grow up without knowing about the curse."

"Wait what curse? Am I cursed?" I cant be cursed  that's nonsense

"You're not cursed. You are a Cursed one."

"What does that even mean?" I cry

"Holy Hell you really dont know a thing... Well you are part of a society called Cursed which means that you have demon's blood flooding through your veins." He sees I'm about to interrupt me so he raises his finger "Let me finish. A long time ago Lucifer, Satan himself, decided to create a different kind of humans. So he mixed his blood with human blood and made a new species: the Cursed. This kind of people is different, they have powers that ordinary humans can only dream about. We will find out about yours soon enough. But this is not the end of the story. When the underworld got his one private kind, the Gods got jealous, so they created one too. The Blessed. While we have powers that include reading minds and controlling elements, the Blessed have supernatural attributes. They are faster, stronger and wiser. The Cursed and the Blessed have been natural enemies for centuries. We have to stand each other though. If I battled them every time I wanted to we wouldnt have soldiers anymore."

I look at him with my mouth open and a million thoughts inside my head.

"But why is my mother involved?"

"Oh your mother..." General Pines' eyes are filled with pain and nostalgia. "She was the leader of the Cursed before me."

" She was what?! How come I've never noticed? "

"You weren't even born Sydney. In fact you were the reason she left. She had to protect you. "

"Protect me from what? From the Blessed?" I dont know why but the anger is consuming me.

Why did she do this to me?

"No. From the current Abandoned. And before you ask what an Abandoned is let me talk. From time to time it occurs a fusion between a Cursed and a Blessed and, when that happens its a catastrophe. Adolf Hitler was an Abandoned and do you really think that the British people defeated him? It was us! We had to join the Blessed to destroy that stupid jerk. No one knows who the current Abandoned is, but he calls himself "Shadowman". He is looking for the most powerful weapon in the world. A weapon made buy the Gods that can control the Blessed's minds. If the Shadowman found it we would be dead in a matter of seconds. And do you know why he cant find it? Shush it was a rhetorical question. Because your mother hid it. I'm guessing that Shadowman's supporters found her and she took a potion so they couldnt discover the truth."

"And how are we supposed to wake her up?" I ask

"You'll see. We're here."

Before I can say anything he leaves the car.

I follow him and find myself in the middle of the woods, nothing around me except trees and a small cave.

It's with amusement that I notice that the Cave has a small symbol on the rock. The same one I have on my shoulder. My mother told me it was a stapler!

"Where are we?" He is already heading to the cave and moving the rock that is locking the entrance, revealing an uncertain world of darkness and shadows.

"Sydney Archer, welcome to the Cave"
