"So why did you call me? Usually, you hang out with Percy, " Lucas said while driving the car. A slow song was playing on the radio. Shirley was not paying much attention. She was lost in thoughts, thinking way too hard.

"Hello? I am talking to you!" Lucas snapped his fingers in front of Shirley's face.

"What?"

"Why did you called me today when you take Percy usually?" Lucas asked again.

"Oh! He texted me the previous night that he is going to his grandma's for a few days,"
Shirley replied.

"And what about Jessica?"

"She seems very different these days as if something is wrong with her that's why I didn't call her, " Shirley explained.

"Ohh."

The rest of the drive was very quiet. Both of them were thinking about something.

Soon they reached the library. Shirley instantly hopped out of the car and rushed inside. Lucas was shocked seeing her sudden actions but he followed.

Lucas lost track of her as she was practically running and the library was huge with hundreds of bookshelves and many table and chairs. But Lucas knew where she was.

He went towards the Vampires section and sure enough, she was standing there, taking out every book on the table.

"So you think they are vampires?" Lucas fake chuckled.

"I am not sure yet, " Shirley replies and she settles herself and opens one of the books called The Traits Of A Vampire.

"Shirley vampires are not real!" Lucas argued and settled beside her.

Shirley ignored him and read aloud the text of the book " Vampires are evil mythological beings who roam the world at night searching for people whose blood they feed upon. They may be the best-known classic monsters of all. Most people associate vampires with Count Dracula, the legendary, blood-sucking subject of Bram Stoker’s epic novel, Dracula, which was published in 1897. But the history of vampires began long before Stoker was born."

"See, it's written there in that idiotic book. They are mythological beings, meaning not true," Lucas argued.

"But I want to be sure."

She continued to read "There are almost as many different characteristics of vampires as there are vampire legends. But the main characteristic of vampires (or Vampyres) is they drink human blood. They typically drain their victim’s blood using their sharp fangs, killing them and turning them into vampires."

"So this explains why Noah was staring at Percy when he had a cut on his leg during the PE period," Shirley concluded.

"It's also written in some places that vampires can't resist drinking blood after midnight and if someone is near them, they will immediately attack them, " she continued.

She read for about an hour more before finally saying "Noah and Mary are vampires and I am completely a hundred percent sure of it!"
