"What? Vampires are fictional characters. Don't be stupid Shirley." Lucas argued.

* Buzz Buzz *

Shirley flinched at the sound of her phone ringing before slowly taking it out of her pocket and answering.

"Hello?"

"Hi, Shirley is Percy with you?" A female asked.

"Hello, Mrs Wilson. No Percy is not with me. But wait a minute, he messaged me last night that he is going to his grandma's house, " Shirley said.

"What? No, he is not at his grandma's. She died last year."

"Oh my god! How could I forget? I will go and search for him right now! Don't worry,"   Shirley panicked out before ending the call.

"What happened?" Lucas asked.

"Percy is missing. We have to search for him."

"I know where he is, " Lucas said as they got up and headed towards the library exit. "Call Jessica right now!"

Shirley immediately called Jessica. She waited for four rings but no one picked up the call.

"Get in the car. I'll take you to Percy and Jessica."

Shirley got inside and Lucas started the car. He sped up the car so much that the surroundings were not even clear. Soon, they parked outside Mary and Noah's house. Both of them got out.

They rushed towards the main entrance but it was locked. They went towards the backyard and luckily found a door. Lucas tried to open it and sure enough, it opened with a small creek sound.

They tiptoed inside the kitchen. No one was there. They moved further in the living room and still no one. They searched the whole ground floor and were disappointed.

"We have to check upstairs," Lucas said as he started to climb the stairs, Shirley quickly following behind.

When they were near Mary's room, faint music was audible. Lucas went near the door and pushed it hard.

To their shock, Mary, Noah, Jessica, Percy, Mr Smith, Mrs Smith and at least fifty other people were sitting there.

"What is happening here?" Lucas yelled.

Every pair of eyes present in the room fell on him and Shirley.

"So you are finally here. We tried to call you! This is an urgent meeting held by the mayor" Mary spoke, who was sitting on the couch and gestured towards a middle-aged woman who was standing near her.

"What meeting?" Shirley asked. "And we know that you and Noah are vampires."

"First of all Shirley, we are not vampires. And this meeting is about all the attacks that have been happening lately." Mary said.

"Don't lie!" Lucas said.

"We are not lying, " The Mayor said. "This is a secret meeting and only those people who agreed to face the risk of even being killed are here."

"So that's why you lied to me about going to your grandma's?" Shirley asked.

"We have all lied, and we are determined to find whatever is behind these attacks," Noah explained.
