C.2: Kalos, A Region of Regrets

"Understood! It will be serve to your table after 15 minutes. Is that okay?"Nurse Joy smiles sweetly.

"Yes it's fine."I smiled back. Heading back to the table to talk with the group... Or probably just listen to Ash smile and laugh.

"Anyway Ash. You haven't told anything about your Adventures back in Kalos."Iris started.

Kalos...

Why do I feel like there's a heavy atmosphere every time I hear about that region...?

I know I have visited that before... And Met Clemont and Bonnie by the fishing competition... But I didn't really saw Ash back there. I guess he already left when I got there. Sigh.

But there's something more than that in that region. A pokemon? Maybe? Or something else...

But what?

"Well about Kalos... I did meet some good pals like you guys."Ash smiles. He seems happy that he's telling us this...

"Really? What do they look like? What's their name? Can we be friends with them too?! I hope they're better than your attitude."Iris smirks, resting her chin on her palm.

"Well... Their names are... Bonnie... She was a kid and she's cute!"... Bonnie..? A kid..? And CUTE?!

Hold on a second!

"And Clemont... He was a lot like Cilan! But he's highly inclined with Science and Mysteries!"Clemont?! WHAT IS GOING ON HERE?!

This seems like a spicy taste of friendship... You mean those two blonde friends I met were friends with my Crush?!

"... And finally... Serena!"

That's what's bothering me... I see. A girl.

"She was a childhood friend I met at a camp. She's really beautiful as well! Like Some girls I met..."Ash ponders, while Iris was staring at him with rage in her eyes.

"so you're telling me i'm not beautiful?!"Iris shouts in annoyance.

Seems like this girl named Serena has more odds of winning Ash's love other than Dawn, Misty and May...

And I should probably add myself and Iris as well.

Iris did once mention to me when Ash was asleep that she had this tiny bit of crush for him. And she finds it cute when Ash pouts every time she calls him a kid.

I thought She was a big threat to me but I found something bigger.

"Cilan..."

Who is she...?

What is her role in Ash's life...?

She spent a few months with Ash...

Is she really beautiful...?

"CILANNNNN!!!"Ash shouts, shaking me vigorously forcing me to snap out of my trance.

"What's up with you? The food was already served and Ash had been asking you what you think about his travels. But all you did was nod without even looking back at him!"Iris exclaimed.

"T...the food.. Ah.. That was.. Fast I thought.. 15 minutes. Ahaha..."I laughed forcibly, scratching my nape while avoiding their glances. "I.. I'm sorry... I guess I was thinking about Striaton Gym for a while now."

"I see... Anyway... I have to ask you again..."Ash then stuff his mouth with cake,"Wadju yu jink about my advenchrs in Kalos...?"

"Well I visited Kalos once... To be honest. I met Clemont and Bonnie in a fishing competition."I replied to Ash whose lips were covered in honey icing.

Mmm...

"Jilly?!"Ash' eyes widened, getting choked by the cake afterwards."WATER!!"

"What a kid..."Iris handed him a cup of water while I pulled out a tissue paper to wipe the icing from...

From his lips.

"Huh..?"Ash was confused.

"You've got icing on your lips.."I giggled, covering my mouth as I started to laugh gently.

"O...oh.. You don't have to do that you could have said I got icing on my lips..."Ash pouts, stuffing another piece of cake in his mouth.

"Well I always wanna do that...."I mumbled.

"Waj?"

"Nothing..."I smiled, eating up the food that was prepared in front of me.

"Here Axew. You can have this cake."Iris handed Axew a slice of Honey cake.

I wasn't eating honey cake by the way... I decided to eat something perfect for the time. Since it's almost dinner, I ate this fire onions that was part of the "everything on the menu" menu Ash invented.

"Anyway Cilan..."Ash gulps down the last chunk of cake in his mouth,"Tell me about how you and Clemont met?"

"To cut the story short... I met him at a fishing competition. I showed off my awesome fishing skills to him and yeah... Things happened and I don't think that's necessary to be told..."I smiled.

"Showing off... Not surprise."Iris grins, finishing her food up.

"I'm full... I can't take this anymore..."Ash groans, resting his head on the table afterwards."Since you already met Clemont... I hope you can meet Serena too.. She's really kind. Besides... She...she's my..."She's your...?

"Zzzzzz..."

... I guess i'll just ask him when he wakes up.

"Well let's spend the night here in the pokemon center then?"I suggested to Iris who was almost asleep.

"Yeah good idea... I'm tired."Iris stood up and carried Axew who was already asleep.

"Pansage come on... I'll go get us a room."I returned Pansage back to his pokeball.

"What about Ash?"Iris pointed at Ash who had his face buried on the cake.

"I'll carry him. And probably clean his face up."I giggled, placing Ash on my back afterwards. He wasn't really that heavy so I guess I can manage.

We headed to a room with 3 beds in it. Obviously for me, Iris and Ash. The room was quite dark since the curtains were kept close and the lights are... Actually dimmed so it won't hurt our eyes once we opened it from our deep sleep...

"Im tired..."Iris falls to her bed, snoozing quickly the moment her body touches the soft velvet clothing of the blanket.

"She kept saying we're such a kid... Even herself is such a kid..."I smiled, resting Ash on his bed so he could sleep peacefully.

I picked up a towel to wipe his face but...

"Cilan...?"Ash's eyes flicker open, making me step back for a bit.

"A..ash. I thought you're asleep.."I whispered, hiding the towel in my pocket.

"I was... I woke up just now..."Ash rubs his eyes, holding my wrist afterwards...

"Uh... Ash?"

"Give me the towel..."Ash uttered.

"Oh.. Here."I handed him the towel I was supposed to wipe his face with.

"Well..."He stared at my face for a few seconds until...

He wipe my cheeks with the towel."I think the icing from the cake stained your cheeks. Hehehe. I just did that in return to what you did earlier."

My heart was beating fast. I can't let him feel its beat..."You don't have to do that actually."

"Well you don't have to do that to me either!"Ash pouts, wiping his face with the towel that he used to wipe my cheeks.

Hmm..

Should I ask him about Serena?

This is a good time after all...

"Ash..."I started.

"Hmm?"

"About Serena... You fell asleep when you're about to tell something important about her. Right?"I laughed forcibly, gripping the edge of Ash's bed tightly.

"Oh. Well... I was about to say that She's my best friend and she is very special to me..."Oh... I see. I was thinking something different. Well I guess it's fine... I will keep my distance from you once I find out you have a girlfriend...

"R...really?"My grip slowly loosen, I can feel a bit of peace hearing that from Ash.

"Yeah. But..."Ash touched his lips and mumbled,"What was that she did to me?"

"U..uh what was that?"I tried to hide my shaking voice from him. Keeping my straight face on. I lie down my bed and wrapped the blanket around me.

"Well... Her lips touched mine. And I don't know what that was for."Ash groans,"Do you know what that was called?!"

... A..."Kiss. It's a kiss Ash."

My heart was broken. Serena likes her. No... Serena loves her. Why did I bother asking about her if I know the answers I will get will just hurt me!

You can't blame me, I was curious. I was curious about everything Ash did, or Ash wants... Or who Ash loves!

"A kiss? That's what it's called?"Ash mumbles. He was innocent. He will never know something about love... Unless Serena makes him feel it for her or something.

"Yeah. You do that.. W..when you..."if he finds out that a kiss happens when you love someone... And not just like someone... He may end up falling for Serena... And... And I'll be left alone... I can't do that...

"when you...?" Ash asked curiously.

I can't... "You'll find out about it soon enough! For now, let's sleep! Goodnight."

I turned to the other side of the bed where the window was.

"That's not fair! Hmmph! I won't tell you things I want to tell to you only unless you tell me what a kiss is about!"Ash groans. I can hear him slamming his bed in frustration until he fell asleep.

"Ash?"I turned back to him... He was fast asleep.

I stood up and approached him. The blanket was covering only half of his body...

"A kiss' meaning is love."I mumbled plainly, kissing his forehead, and covering his body with the blanket so he wouldn't catch a cold.

I head back to my bed and closed my eyes, hugging my blanket tighter.

The heaviness in my chest wouldn't be gone... Unless he loves me back...

And that would never happen...

Because it's impossible.
