Flame (Raisa Seraphine) used to be a slave, as proven by the slavemark branded on her inner arm, which she keeps hidden constantly. She was given the slavemark when she was taken by slave traders; the slave traders then sold her off to work in the camp of a sorceress queen (who is not my character, and therefore will not be named, and will not be mentioned after this). Flame worked with the blacksmiths, keeping the forges hot with her fire magic, so that the camp wouldn't have to waste oil, coal, or other fossil fuels. Working with blacksmiths, she took part in the forging of innumerable amounts of weapons to supply the camp's guards, as well as those who arrived at the camp to offer their allegiance.

This was how she learned to summon a hot, continuous stream of flame, and keep it up for over an hour before finally burning out. She was never formally trained in any sort of combat, since using her magic offensively wasn't allowed. She had to teach herself later how to turn that searing, long-lasting flame column into a quick offensive attack, which became the large, crude fireballs she uses currently. This way, it also takes longer to drain herself of energy, so she can keep up her barrage for quite a while. Her current way of using her pyromancy in combat is usually to keep her distance and hurl fireballs in the direction of the enemy; in terms of precision, she needs some work, but in general, the fireballs hit what she throws them at. They don't explode, and she's working on trying to get them to do more damage than just setting people and objects on fire. Her fire is hot and relatively uncontrolled. She's also working on being able to make the fireballs smaller and concentrated, so she can hit more specific targets.

Flame knows that blue fire indicates the hottest type, and she wants to reach that eventually. It will take quite a lot of energy, and a lot of time and effort. At the moment, she can only summon blue fire when she lets her volatile and intense inner emotions control her magic completely. That also causes many other problems, like how she plans to stop, and the safety of the people around her. She eventually wants to be able to use the blue fire to melt metal or similar materials, since her usual fire can only leave red spots or burn marks on such things.

If absolutely necessary, she can engage in armed close combat; she has no training in this either, which is why she usually goes for long-distance attacks first and uses close combat as a last resort. In close combat, she's most familiar with blades - mostly daggers, so she tends to use whichever of those she can find. She doesn't keep her own.

Loud clanging sounds, like metal striking metal, will probably scare her. She'll try to avoid those. She doesn't enjoy going into armories often, usually only to get a blade to use, but she's able to do it. However, she absolutely hates blacksmithing forges - and if asked to light one, she'll shut down.
