Leafstripe sat beside Tigerstar, her paws tucked under her chest. She ate the plump mouse slowly, watching as a patrol was returning back to camp.

"We couldn't find them," Juniperclaw growled, his ears flattening. "Stupid rogues must of ran off," he hissed, his claws digging into the ground.

Tigerstar bristled, his eyes turning to slits. "Those stupid rogues won't get away with attacking an innocent patrol!" He growled. "I'm sending a patrol over to their territory," he growled. "And I'm going."

"Tigerstar! You'll get hurt! Let me come with you," Leafstripe pleaded, pressing her muzzle to her mate's cheek.

"You're expecting my kits," Tigerstar meowed. "You should stay here, it's safe," he mewed, his eyes glittering with concern.

Leafstripe sat down, her plump belly heaving. She sighed. "Don't get hurt, please," she murmured.

"I won't, I have nine lives," Tigerstar meowed. He turned towards high-rock and leaped up, lifting his chin. "ShadowClan!" He called out. "The rogues attacked one of our patrols and when we went after them, they ran like cowards. Lets show them how strong ShadowClan really is!" He yowled.

His Clan cheered, their claws flexing, their eyes flattened, their tails flicking angrily. Every warrior's pelt bristled wildly.

"Who would like to join me on this patrol?" Tigerstar asked, his tail flicking. He looked around as his Clan yowled out.

Adderstone, Leafstripe's brother, lifted his chin. "I'll stay," he meowed.

Puddleshine padded up beside them. "Me too."

Gullswoop also wanted to stay.

Tigerstar leaped down from high-rock, running towards the camp entrance. The rest of the Clan gathered towards him, leaving.

Leafstripe felt hollow now, a distant feeling tugging at her heavy stomach. She sat back down, finishing the mouse she'd been eating. Doesn't Tigerstar know how dangerous those rogues are?

Sighing, Leafstripe lay her head on her paws, pushing the remains of the mouse off to the side. She closed her eyes for a second when suddenly, she heard weird noises. She lifted her head, her ears pricking forward. The camp barrier rustled, and so did other walls of the camp. Then rogue scent flooded in.

Leafstripe gasped, running towards her brother in the center of camp. "Rogues!" She gasped out.

Before Adderstone could respond, rogues pooled in the camp, their scent overwhelming. Fur flashed all around them. Puddleshine bristled and Gullswoop flattened her ears. The whole rogue camp was here.

Leafstripe huddled against her brother, her tail lashing.

Darktail padded from the crowd of his rogues, then ordered them to form a circle around the small bunch of warriors.

Some rogues pushed the medicine cats out of their den roughly. Flametail bristled. Ravenbreeze unsheathed her claws. "You stupid rogues!" She growled, lashing her tail.

Leafstripe realized that Turtlepatch wasn't there. Where did the medicine cat go? She looked towards the elders' den, where rogues were forcing Ebonyfur, Smokefoot, Kinkfur, and Ratscar out of the den.

Darktail flicked his tail, and at his signal, the rogues forced the cats into the center of the clearing, huddling against the warriors.

The two queens were pushed towards them too. Adderstone bristled. "You," he spat, glancing coldly at Darktail. He then lashed out, slicing Darktail on his muzzle.

Darktail didn't flinch, and then suddenly slashed open Adderstone's throat with powerful paws.

Leafstripe gasped, her heart skipping a beat as she watched her brother's eyes widen. Blood trickled down his chin and stained his fur. He glanced down at the gash in his throat, then gasped. Adderstone fell to the ground with a thud, his blood pooling around him.

"Adderstone!" Leafstripe gasped. She padded towards him, her muzzle thrusting into her brother's neck fur. "Adderstone, don't die!" She whimpered.

Darktail licked the blood from his paw, sighing. "If any of you want to attack me, think again!" He hissed.

"You aren't getting away with this without a fight!" Ratscar yowled, pouncing on Darktail. He bit the rogue leader's ear, his claws scratching his face.

Darktail yowled, kicking him off. The rogues crowded around Ratscar, attacking him.

"Ratscar!" Leafstripe gasped. Anger pulsed through her. Unsheathing her claws, she pounced on the rogues attacking the elder, tearing at their fur with extended claws.

Puddleshine joined her, slashed at the rogues. Ebonyfur grabbed the scruff of the rogue, dragging it off of Ratscar. Leafstripe swiped a rogue on the muzzle, then turned to slash one on the ears.

"That's it! DarkClan! Attack!" Darktail yowled.

Leafstripe lifted her head. "ShadowClan! Fight as hard as you can!" She yowled. She leaped on a black and white rogue, realizing it was Crowfrost.

Leafstripe lashed at Crowfrost's muzzle, her teeth bared. "Stupid DarkClan scum!" She growled. She lashed at him again, but he moved out of the way.

Crowfrost flattened his ears. "Give up," he growled. His gaze fixed on something behind Leafstripe.

Leafstripe then gasped as a body slammed into her back. She growled with pain, then turned around, slashing at her attack's nose.

The rogue growled and slashed her cheek.

Leafstripe was then buried under rogues that snapped and scratched at her. She growled with pain and anger, trying to push the rogues off of her.

"ShadowClan! Attack!"

Leafstripe's heart skipped for a second as she recognized the yowl. The rogue on top of her was pulled off, and she saw Tigerstar.

Tigerstar slashed the rogue's shoulder, then grabbed his scruff and threw him away from him. Hhe turned back to Leafstripe. "Leafstripe! Get out of here! The medicine cats are heading towards ThunderClan and they're taking the elders and queens with them," he meowed. "Please, go with them!"

Leafstripe stared at him. "Fine," she murmured. She pressed her muzzle to his cheek. "Promise me you'll come back," she whispered, then turned. She took off running towards the camp entrance, then tripped over something.

Leafstripe struggled to her paws, then glanced behind her. Blood stained the ground. Ratscar lay on the ground, still. "Ratscar!" She gasped. The tom didn't move. His pelt was stained with blood and countless wounds were opened on his body.

Leafstripe felt anger bubble through her. Why did she have to leave? She looked down. Her kits need her now. She couldn't risk losing them. But she couldn't risk losing Tigerstar either.
