Kokonoe: Welcome to Night City. The year is 2077, and the corrupt corporation known as Arasaka is prospering.

Junko: But they didn't exactly have the cleanest reputation. They needed somebody willing to do their dirty work so they wouldn't have to. And so they recruited the biggest, badest man they could find, Adam Smasher.

Kokonoe: But Smasher's story actually began long before that. All the way back to the 2000.

Junko: Back then, Smasher was just another street punk. A worthless New York City mook who joined the military after his gang was whipped out. 

Kokonoe: New York... what? Anyway, after several years in uniform, he was discharged for bad conduct.

Junko: And so he became a contract gunboy in his home city! And he really lived the life too. His lack of squeamishness and sadistic thoroughness brought in enough jobs to keep him in guns, gear, drugs, and some brutal one-night stands! And then it finally happened. The one job where everything fell apart after he was given one gig that caused him to be hit by several rockets and turned into meatloaf. His buddies had to backpack him out of there and return him to the Big Apples.

Kokonoe: And how convenient that a mysterious corporate benefactor noted this. That being the same corrupt corporation that put him in this state in the first place, Arasaka. And they gave him a classic offer he couldn't refuse.

Junko: Either get corporate service in a badass metal body at the cost of your humanity or pull the plug and die! Yeah, because the thought of lost humanity would totally bother Adam Smasher.

Kokonoe: As you may have guessed, he took the deal and became Arasaka's one-man killing machine with only one stipulation... Collateral damage and civilian casualties are a must.

Junko: Because what is a man without a bit of slaughter?

Kokonoe: Adam Smasher is incredibly strong, capable of tearing through metal and steel with his bare hands and even ripping through a whole Cyberskeleton. He can easily crush the bodies of others by jumping down on top of them, creating a massive crater.

Junko: The guy can decapitate an ordinary man with a single punch and easily throw cars! He's withstood David's gravity and proved to be way stronger than him! And David's strong enough to throw two Arasaka APCs! Smasher has taken multiple point-blank explosions, one of which was a freaking nuke! 

Ann:  He can easily dodge and react to bullets, moving faster than the eye can see! He can even increase his speed with ease!

Kokonoe: All of this with the power of science.

Junko: Adam Smasher has loads of experience and he really shows it! He's like that kinda guy that you know will beat your ass as soon as you look at them funny!

Kokonoe: a skilled operative in SpecOps and general military affairs. He is considered a hero of the 4th Corporate War and a legend amongst all Edgerunners for his feats and accomplishments as a solo operative. But his real skill comes in his mechanical body.

Kokonoe: I'll have to admit, Arasaka outdone themselves here. Adam Smasher has access to many different Cybernetic bodies, some of which let him take out an army.

Junko: And one that lets him look and sound like Elvis Presley!

Ann: Yeah, he was, um... dating his boss' 18-year-old daughter at the time... it was weird...

Junko: But after an incident involving a legendary battle in Arasaka Tower and a Nuke blowing up in Smasher's face, Arasaka would award him with his strongest body yet, the Dragoon body.

Kokonoe: This cybernetic body in particular stands at over 11 feet tall and weighs over 3,000 pounds. His senses are enhanced, and he no longer needs food or sleep. He has optic implants that allow him to scan the environment and other people. This function ranges widely, getting everything from Blood Type to holographic predictions of events based on the climate to telling Smasher what cybernetics someone else has and what possible strengths and weaknesses are.

Junko: Wait, how does he have enhanced senses?

Kokonoe: Right, he has Night Vision, Thermal Vision, Telescopic Vision, Infrared Vision, and a standard HUD for his eyes. Amplified hearing and long-range radio detection for his ears. Enhanced smell and a chemical analyzer for his nose. As well as Sonar and Radar scanners and Radiation scanners. The Dragoon Body is designed to withstand Nuclear, Chemical, Biological, and Electronic warfare and its adverse side effects. The Dragoon body is also resistant to Infrared Sensors and EMPs. With it, Adam has even resisted the hacking of others and can perform quick hacking on others.

Junko: He has pain editors to manipulate his own pain, eye shielding to block out blinding light, and he's immune to things like sonics and stun guns.

Kokonoe: And as far as weapons go, his body has a retractable arm cannon and shoulder-mounted missiles. But one of his more impressive pieces of technology is his Sandevistan.

Kokonoe: A temporary status effect that can be activated on demand. By default, Sandevistan will slow down time to a certain percentage for a set duration. His Sandevistan is comparable to David's, who can temporarily slow down time by at least 50%. Smasher's might actually be better though it still has a cooldown time and isn't something he uses often.

Junko: Of course, if he wanted to fight in close range, he's really skilled in PanzerFaust, a martial art designed around complete conversion Cyborgs. He also has a Hyper Hammer and a Monosword.

Junko: This thing can cut through almost anything. It even glows like a regular lightsaber!

Ann: But who needs swords and a hammer when you have guns?! Like his Militech MK. 31 HMG!

Ann: A large, fully automatic, heavy machine gun normally mounted on a Militech Aegis X2 turret or a Minotaur, though it is possible to carry thanks to Smasher's immense strength. The weapon can hold up to 300 rounds, which are laden with a small explosive charge! However, it can't be reloaded and is prone to overheating.

Junko: Wait, isn't that from, like, a rival corporation or something? Why does Smasher have it?

Kokonoe: Probably a weapon he stole from someone he killed. He has a CLAWS assault weapon as well.

Ann: Yep! He also has two 12.7mm Machine Guns, an ATGM, and a railgun! He also has a Hellbringer Magnum!

Ann: This massive revolver is designed to hold just three rounds in its solid titanium-steel frame. Each round is a .666-caliber metal round with a lead slug that's designed to hit harder than most hunting rifles!

Junko: Holds gun. It's not called the .666 Magnum man-killer for nothing! Definitely not a toy to mess around with!

Junko shot the gun at Ann, who dodged all three bullets.

Ann: Watch where you're aiming that thing!

Kokonoe: But his most impressive weapon is the Helix Shotgun.

Ann: Arguably one of the most devastating small arms for close-range house-to-house combat. It's a hex-barreled Gatling shotgun that fires binary 10-gauge shells at 1300 rounds per minute! About one meter in length, the gun's six barrels are all a respectable 45cm long!

Junko: Holy fuck! So we've got a giant juggernaut who can easily tear apart cybernetic humans and has a bunch of badass guns. How exactly did some street pink/Corpo brat/Normad boy beat him so easily in the game again?

Kokonoe: Well, that answer is pretty straightforward.

Kokonoe: You see, he's a little too reliant on his cybernetic body, having a deep hatred for humanity and believing machinery is above organic matter. This, along with his ego, has led to him making multiple rash or hot-headed moves when confronted with someone who will challenge that worldview.

Ann: And thanks to those decisions, one man or woman named V finally managed to take him down and end his path of destruction.

Junko: But there's a reason they call Adam Smasher the boogeyman of Night City, for nobody leaves the Slaughterhouse... at least... not alive.

Smasher:  You... Who are you... to challenge me? You can't even stand without your antigrav crutches. You think you're special 'cause you're scrappy. Don't make me laugh!
