*Garroth's POV*
~The Next School Year~

I'm nearing the end of my Junior year of High School... And I have mixed feelings... Wanna hear about them? Probably not; but I'm still gonna say, anyways.

Prom is coming up.

Normally, that's a thing you'd be excited for. Now, don't get me wrong, I am...sort of. But, at the same time, I'm not... Mostly because, I'm probably going to end up going alone. Obviously Aphmau would've been my go-to person, but Katelyn's bringing her. Then, I was like, 'okay, I'll just go with Dante or Travis for bro-time', or something not-gay, like that. But, Dante already promised Kawaii~Chan, that he was taking her. And, Travis doesn't want to go, because he's still a Sophomore, and wants to wait until it's his prom. I'm also, definitely not going with some random girl, who is just weirdly obsessed with me (cough, cough, Ivy...), or go alone!

I might not even go...unless...

No, no. I am not going to the Prom with, ugh, Laurance. Definitely, and absolutely, n-

"Hey, Garroth!"

You pick the worst times to mess with me, don't ya?

"Oh, Laurance, hi," I sighed, holding my journal close to my chest, as I shut my locker. I turned, face-to-face with Laurance. I can't believe I am still crushing on this freak, after all this time.

"Wow. Sound more dissapointed to see me, why dont'cha?" Laurance chuckled, as I shook my head.

"Sorry, sorry. I'm just rather tired," I lied, beginning to walk with him through the High School halls. To think, that next year, I would be a Senior. Then, I get the heck out of this living Hell. "So, um, y-you know what's coming up soon, r-right?"

"Prom, right?" He smiled brightly, looking down at me.

"Yeah," I responded, feeling my face get hot. "A-are you planning on g-going..?"

"Yeah!"

"A-are you planning o-on asking s-someone, o-or j-just going with...s-someone..?" I really mumbled the question.

"Yup..."

"O-oh," I muttered, probably blushing darkly.

I bowed my head slightly, as we continued to walk through the hallways. Students pushed past us, chatting away, or texting on their cell phones. I glanced up at Laurance, who had his eyes directed straight ahead of him. I bit my lip, taking in a deep breath.

"D-Do you mind s-saying w-who-?"

"I promised to bring Michi, to the Prom," He answered, biting down on his bottom lip.

"O-oh..," I sighed, running a hand through my hair.

Damn, it feels like it's been forever, since I last felt heartbreak. Who would've guessed? Laurance caused it, again. I guess him and Gene have another thing in common...

Don't compare Laurance to Gene.

You're absolutely right!

...

That's offensive to Gene.

Stop! He's, like, one of your best friends, now. And, he is nothing like Gene! Gene is a horrible human being. Speaking of whom... He's graduating this year.

Hallelujah, praise Irene...

Too bad his 'lil goons are still roaming around, though...

Yeah...

"W-why, Michi? I t-thought you d-didn't like h-her..?" I bit my own lip harder, trying to keep myself from crying. No need to be even more embarrassed in front of my peers, than I have in the past...

"She was pretty upset about something, and was crying by her locker..," he started, shoving his hands in his pockets of his uniform.

Wow...situation sounds oddly familiar.

I wonder why?

'Tis is a mystery.

Laurance continued, after sighing softly, "so, out of the goodness of my heart, I asked her what was wrong... And, after what seemed like an endless conversation, I somehow ended up promising her to be my date to the Prom. How do I get myself into these types of situations?"

"I dunno..."

"Heh, well, see you in class?"

"Y-yeah..."

*Aphmau's POV*

"Thanks Aph," Katelyn smiled down at me.

"I hope she says yes, Katelyn! Don't worry about me," I threw my arms around her, giving her a small kiss on the cheek. "I'm pretty sure Garroth was going to ask me to the Prom, anyways. So, I'll most likely see you there!"

"Awesome! Well, catch ya later, Aph!" Katelyn waved goodbye, as she strolled off to her Homeroom.

"Bye, Katelyn," I headed off in an opposite direction.

Just then, I spotted one of my best friends- Garroth- chatting with someone down the hall... Aww, it was Laurance. They are so cute together, I swear to Irene. Like, I'm literally willing to do anything just to see them happy together, already.

They parted ways, and Garroth spotted me. He seemed a bit down, but instantly turned cheery. He strolled over to me, and I shrugged it off.

"Hey, Garroth!" I chirped, slinging my arm over his shoulders. He chuckled lightly, blushing slightly. "Haven't seen ya in a while."

"Hi, Aph," Garroth smiled down at me, running a hand through his hair.

"So~" I sang, poking his cheek lightly. "You gotta date to the Prom~?"

"Well, no...but-"

"Awh, that sucks! Anyway, I can't wait to see you there nonetheless. Date or no date. Heh," I bit the inside of my cheek, removing my arm from his shoulders.

"Actually...you won't see me there," he sighed softly, under his breath.

"Huh?"

"Because, I'm not going. Pretty self explanatory, Aph."

My hands dropped to my sides, as I pouted a little. I stopped Garroth, standing in front of him. "Why?"

"Why not?" Garroth attempted to walk past me, and I moved back to blocking him.

"Why aren't you going to the Prom, Garroth?"

"Because I don't have a date! And, I don't want to go alone! Okay?!" Garroth whisper-yelled, huffing.

"Garroth! You are so dumb, sometimes! I'll be your stinken' date to the Prom, okay?" I gave him a light smile, holding his hands in mine.

Garroth scoffed, rolling his eyes. "You don't have to do that, Aph. Katelyn already invited you."

"She...changed her mind. C'mon! I want you to have fun! Also, food, Garroth. Food," I giggled, pecking a kiss on his cheek.

"Alright, alright. Heh..." The sound of the first period bell rang throughout the High School. "Anyways, let's head to our classes."

"Sure, thing, Prom Date! Hehe."
