Chapter 17: Case

Taehyung's case was now filed in court. His hyungs weren't confident with their few pieces of evidence.

"We need to go now, Taehyung. It will start now." Jin said and opened the door car.

Taehyung hesitantly nodded his head and followed Jin inside the car. Jin started to drive with Taehyung beside him. The others were already in court to arrange something.

"We're here." Jin uttered when they arrived in front of the court.

Taehyung was holding tightly on Jin's left arm when they walked up to the court. Those cameras and reporters were invading his space. When they got inside, Karen was glaring at him until he sat down.

"Let's start now." Judge Hoon said hitting the gavel.

"Good Morning, Your Honor, this is all about murder under the   Republic act No. 7569 the victim is Michael Park who was found dead in his own backyard, and the police speculated that he was killed at 12:26 pm, December 12. And the primary suspect was Kim Taehyung who was Michael's ex-lover, Michael courted him for almost a year. The witness said that they fought for few times. Due to the suspect's anger, he killed Michael." Lawyer Yeonjun stated.

"You can proceed Attorney Seuk." Judge Hoon said.

Attorney Seuk, Michael's attorney went in the middle and bowed.

"Good Morning, Your Honour, I'm Attorney Seuk, victim's attorney. This case was brutal, the suspect forced Michael to dig his own grave after killing him. This was obviously a murder, the suspect deserves to be rotten in jail. And also, before this incident, the suspect beat up Michael every time he encountered him. I'm sure, Kim Taehyung planned it all to get rid of an innocent victim, Michael." Attorney Seuk explained.

The judge nodded his head, maybe in agreement.

"Attorney Soobin, you can proceed now." Judge Hoon uttered.

Soobin proceeded to go in the middle and put the files on the desk.

"Good Morning, Your Honor, I'm Attorney Choi Soobin and I'm here to defend my client, Kim Taehyung. When the police investigated the case, they told that there's two suspects involved with this case but why were they forcing that my client did that? In my point of view, there's something wrong with this case. My client was in his house when the crime happened. There's no way he can teleport in Michael's house." Soobin stated.

"Objection, Your Honor, the suspect was obviously lying with his statement." Attorney Seuk objected.

"Hmm, is that so? But attorney, we have witnesses to prove that he was staying in his house the whole day. And that witness is his brother, Jeon Jungkook who was with him. Fortunately, we have this CCTV camera to prove it, Your Honor." Soobin said and showed the USB to them.

Attorney Seuk swallowed down while Karen widened her eyes.

"Show it to us." Judge Hoon uttered.

Soobin inserted the USB and the video played.

"As you can see, Kim Taehyung was in his house at 12:26 when the crime happened. How can he kill someone if he was in his house at the exact time? This shows that the police and detective investigating this case did a wrong move and speculation. Your Honour, Kim Taehyung was innocent and he isn't the suspect here." Soobin explained.

"It's your turn, Attorney Seuk." Judge Hoon uttered.

"Your Honor, the suspect was manipulating the case. There's no way we can let that criminal walk freely with innocent people surrounding him. He should pay for what he did. Michael deserved justice and that is to make this suspect rotten in jail. Your Honor, you can check our evidence properly." Attorney Seuk depended.

Taehyung was simply watching them, fidgeting his fingers while biting his lips. For some reason, he felt nervous. The three judges were currently deciding.

Jungkook noticed him, he held Taehyung's hand. Taehyung looked at him when he felt warmth in his hand. Jungkook didn't say anything but he smiled a little while staring at Taehyung. Taehyung calmed down smiling forcefully.

"The result is here, Kim Taehyung was GUILTY of murder." Yeonjun announced.

Taehyung suddenly felt his world collapse when he heard it.

"I'm sorry, we failed." Soobin muttered.

Their hyungs sighed in disappointment. The police came to them with handcuffs.

"It's okay, Taehyung, we're not lost yet. We'll find a way to get you out of there." Jin uttered trying to be positive.

Taehyung remove Jungkook's hand, he stood up. The police handcuffed him and dragged him away. Jungkook was frozen, he was hoping that it's not true. He didn't notice the tears falling out of his eyes.

"Well deserve, I told you, you'll be rotten in jail." Karen snickered.

"Enjoy as long as you can, trust me, I'll make sure you'll regret this, psychopath." Taehyung retorted, glaring at her.

"Don't worry, I already enjoying your situation. I'm sure you too and you will meet your fellow inmates in the jail. A happy reunion with them." Karen stated.

The police pulled Taehyung out of the court. Karen and Attorney Seuk looked at each other and smirked.

"You did well, Attorney, keep up the good work. I'll increase my payment to you." Karen smiled innocently.

"I will make sure to win." Attorney Seuk grinned.

"That's good to hear." Karen smirked.

They watched the police dragging Taehyung with victorious smirked on their lips. Soobin was kind of disappointed in the result, he didn't expect it.

"Better investigate and watch everything surrounding you." He flinched when he heard a voice behind him.

He turned around and saw Yeonjun standing behind him.

"What do you mean?" Soobin asked confusedly.

"You can't trust that judge, he was pretty noticeable. Investigate this case and watch the two complainants. Something was wrong with them." Yeonjun replied.

Soobin was confused and curious at the same time. He was trying to understand what Yeonjun was trying to point out.

"By the way, nice work earlier. You can change the result, it's not your fault, just think before this case start, the result is already decided." Yeonjun said and he left.

Soobin had mouth agape, he finally got it.
