Miri's PoV

I gather the team around the formal dining room table. Chieko gyms and taps her fingers impatiently. Then she groans. "Why are we hereeee."

I clap my hands once to get everyone's attention, then hold up my index finger. "We've defeated about three quarters of  the villains, but those were the weak ones. The ones that are left will be the difficult ones. There will also be the ones we have had to run from in the past. I was hoping we could scare them off by beating most of the villains, but it doesn't seem like that's going to happen." I take a deep breath to continue, but Yu interrupts.

"So what you're trying to say is, we need to stop slacking off and get back to kicking ass?" Chieko giggles at her wording.

"Yeah, pretty much." I had a speech planned, but it looks like it wasn't needed. "So... change and let's get going!"

Everyone scatters to their rooms. I help Chieko change first, then send her down to wait with the others. I open my closet, scanning my clothes. For some reason, I can't decide what to wear. Typically, I don't give my outfit a second thought. After a few wasted minutes of me being indecisive, I find a pair of shorts and a shirt that I like. I pull off my clothes. It is now that I notice the door is unlocked.

That could have gone very bad!

I hear footsteps in the hall, and make a dash to the door. I'm a step away from safety, but... you can imagine what my terrible luck brings me. The door swings open.

"What's taking you so long—" Katsuki is looking to where I was a few seconds ago—where I would be if I were still changing. However, like someone that should be dressed, I am at the door. But I am not a dressed person.

His gaze swoops to me. I watch as his face turns a light shade of pink, but it quickly changes to bright red. I chuckle nervously. "Oh hey, what brings you here? Mind if I finish changing? I don't plan on fighting in my underwear."

I notice his eyes aren't looking into mine. I let out a muffled scream and slap him across the face. "EYES UP HERE." Without wasting another second, I kick him out and slam the door, making sure to lock it.

After breaking out of my frozen state, I fall to the ground and let out a resounding screech.

"There!" Yu whisper-yells, pointing to a cracked window in a crumbling building. I can see figures behind it. I make eye contact with one of them, but they soon disappear from our sight.

"They know we're here." Chieko states.

We stand there, waiting for the villains to reveal themselves. Sure enough, they pour out of the building with waves of ten at a time. There are about a hundred of them.

I stare at them for a second too long, and my friends run ahead of me. I snap out of it. "Plan!" I yell, charging behind them. "Stick to the plan!"

Katsuki starts us off with a string explosion, knocking out ten of them in the front. Michiko joins in, with Kirishima following close behind. Yu swoops in and out, dealing damage with her sharp and strong talons. I aid from the back by freezing the villains in place.

The villains come back to their senses, and begin attacking us with their quirks. First, a wave of water washes over us, soaking us, and melting my ice. Katsuki sends large-scale explosions, Michiko doing the same with her bubbles.

About fifty still standing...

We continue to do what we have been, and Zenith joins in by teleporting them around to confuse them. Over time, he has managed to be able to use his quirk much longer without the headaches coming after only a few uses.

Two left... yes!

The two that are left stare at us, and to be honest, it gives me the chills... Chieko shuts her eyes and hides behind me.

I try to extend my arm to attack, but I can't. I realize that I'm paralyzed. It looks like the rest of the team is, too.

"I can... I have to..." I hear whispering behind me.

"Chieko... don't," I can already tell she's planning to try to beat them herself.

"I'm not stuck. Miri, I can do it." She says. A long iron bar appears in her head, and she charges at the two villains.

"NO GET BACK HERE THIS INSTANT!" I cry out.

She wacks one of them in the head, knocking him out. The second catches her bar and flips her over with it.

It all happens so quickly. A familiar purple portal appears, and the villain grabs Chieko and pulls her with him into it.

"CHIEKO!" I yell at the top of my lungs. I'm able to move again, but it might just be too late. I dash to where the portal just disappeared and scream her name over and over again...
