Okay, what on earth. I tried to type they'd, right?

Guess what it auto corrected to?

They'Drew.

WHAT?!?!?!?!

---------------------------

"FINALLY!!!!!!!!!! IN JUST A FEW MORE TURNS, WE'RE GOING TO BE OUT OF THIS STUPID CAVE!!!!!!!!! WE CAN SEE THE SUN AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I WANT TO SEE THE SUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" May yelled upon Drew telling her that in a good five minutes they'd be out.

Drew flinched as May celebrated. She just looked so happy knowing that she could see the sun again, Drew knew he just didn't have it in him to tell her that a constant rain storm hovered over the area where they'd be exiting.

"Here comes the sun! Do do do do! Here comes the sun!"

Drew felt like banging his head against the wall. As if he already didn't like the song, he and his fifth grade class was forced to dance to it for their fifth grade graduation!

"And I say... It's alright."

She giggled as she noticed his eye twitch.

"Not a fan of the Beetles?" She asked, still in her cheery, happy mood. One Drew knew was soon to be dampened by the rain.

"No, and that song even less," he bluntly told her.

"Really now?" She continued giggling as she spoke.

"Yes," he spoke uncomfortably.

"Well then, HERE COMES THE SUN, DO DO DO DO!!!!!!!!! HERE COMES THE SUN, AND I SAY... ITS ALRIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

The brunet's giggling turned into a full out laugh as Drew's hands flew to his ears and tightly gripped them against his head.

She smiled. "I'm not a huge fan of the beetles either. I just like that song."

His hands didn't move.

"I'm done singing."

No reaction.

"BOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!" May jumped directly in front of Drew and grabbed his wrists. Ordinarily, there would have been a struggle of May trying to pull his hands away from his head and Drew resisting just for the sake of resisting, however this wasn't quite the case.

May, having startled her friend, caught him by surprise and therefor easily won, to her delight.

"Ha! May - 1, Drew - 0," she teased.

He smirked and rolled his eyes. "And what competition of sorts did you win? Finding a person's least favorite song? Sorry to break it to you May, but that in no way involves another competitor. That's more like a personal victory, if you could even call it that," he redeemed himself.

Well, in his eyes anyway.

"DREW, YOU ARE SO... SO..."

"Awesomely awesome at creating appeals?"

"FRUSTRATING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Drew just laughed it off while May pouted.

"Oh, Drew?" She asked, voice back to normal.

"Hm?" He questioned.

"Here comes the sun, do do do do..."

---------------------------

"You're the packer, Grasshead! You're supposed to bring ponchos or umbrellas or something," May complained as she and said Grasshead made a mad dash to the pokemon center.

"Both take up a lot of space!!!" Drew shot back, just as annoyed and uncomfortable as the brunet on his left.

"Really? Ponchos can fold into almost nothing, and a miniature umbrella would as well!!!"

"Yeah? Well maybe if someone didn't eat so much, WE'D HAVE ROOM TO TAKE SOME RAIN PROTECTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

"THAT'S NOT MY FAULT!!!!!!!!!!"

Kinda is!!!!!!!!!!!!"

"WELL SORRY IF MY APPETITE IS WEIGHING YOU DOWN SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

"WORDS MEAN NOTHING!!!!!!!!! YOU'RE NOT REALLY SORRY!!!!!!!!!!!"

"YOU KNEW THIS AREA WAS RAINY, SO WHY DIDN'T YOU JUST SQUEEZE SOMETHING IN THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

"WELL THEN WHY DIDN'T YOU!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?"

"BECASE I'M NOT GOOD AT PACKING AND PLANING, AND I WAS TOO BUSY DEALING WITH THE POTIONS SO WE WOULDN'T HAVE TO FIGHT A BUNCH OF ANGRY ONIX WHILE ALL OF OUR POKEMON HAD FAINTED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

"OH, YOU MEAN THE POTIONS YOU SPRAYED IN MY FACE MRS. CLUMSY!?!?!?!?!?!?!"

"JUST SHUT UP!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU KNOW I DIDN'T INTEND ON CAUSING YOUR STUPID VISION TO GO CRAZY FOR A FEW DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

"BUT YOU STILL DID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

"JUST SHUT UP, DREW!!!!!!!!!!!! DON'T TALK TO ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

---------------------------

Nurse Joy sat behind her desk, peacefully stacking papers as she hummed.

Suddenly, the automatic doors shielding her from the outside rain opened revealing two soaking wet figures.

"Welcome to the Pokemon Center!" She greeted.

"Hi Nurse Joy! Do you have any rooms left?" The girl asked while the boy pushed his drenched bangs off his face so he could see, but they fell right back in place. As a result, he flicked it off his face, a few of the droplets landing on the other co-ordinator.

"Knock it of, Drew. I don't need you getting me any more wet," she tartly responded.

"I still fail to see how any of this is my fault," the boy argued, held back anger obvious in his voice.

Nurse Joy inwardly cringed. She'd seen many arguments overcome even the greatest of friends, many of the worst ones between what she would later observe to be two trainers harboring feelings for each other.

As if the coldness in their voices right then hadn't told her, their breathlessness and completely red faces told her that that they had not only been running to get out of the rain, but yelling pretty hard at each other as well.

She had no doubt in her mind that the two were attracted to each other, but this was probably one of their worse moments.

"I only have one room left, but it's a one bed room. However, there is a couch and it beats the rain," she explained, hoping their reactions wouldn't be too explosive.

"Fine. As long as I get the bed."

"Um, no. I'm taking the bed."

"I'm not sleeping in the same bed as you!"

"Then take the couch!!"

"No, I-"

"Why don't you to just go take a shower and get warm and dry," Nurse Joy interrupted, hoping to stop another outbreak. "I'm sure you'll both feel better."

"I'm getting first shower."

"Nuh-uh! You didn't pack an umbrella!!"

"Not my fault. And besides, you take up too much hot water."

Nurse Joy sighed as the argumentative pair walked to their room, although she looked forward to seeing them on friendlier terms.

---------------------------

Drew tried to concentrate on the book he had found on the room, but just couldn't. Nurse Joy was right - he did feel a lot better and more calm once he'd taken the warm shower.

Now that his outburst was over, however, he felt kinda guilty.

Guilty that it sort of was his fault they had been soaked and miserable.

Guilty about all the mean things he had yelled at May, like how she ate too much and the whole potion thing was her fault.

Guilty about how he had taken first shower out of pure hostility towards his traveling companion at the moment. But now...

He regretted all of it.

He searched several of the cabinets in the tiny kitchen the room had to offer before finding what he was looking for.

Perfect.

-------------------------

May was surprised to find that the majority of her anger had washed away in the shower, no longer feeling like tying Drew up, gagging him, throwing him out the window, and having someone impersonate him so she could continue competing in Johto.

In fact, really all that remained was slight annoyance.

She finished toweling off her hair and slipped on her PJs and opened the door to face her companion again.

"Hey, May," he said quietly and calmly, voice almost drowned out by the rain.

It was comforting now, unlike earlier. It made her feel as if it was just her and Drew, and everything else was just a soft steady rhythm.

"What's..." May asked, not exactly completing her sentence, but Drew understood and patted the seat at the table next to him, signaling he wanted her to sit there.

"It's a peace offering," he said, eyes meeting the floor. "I made it for you."

May smiled and sat next to him as he'd asked.

She knew that he knew that his pride was too great for him to just come out and say he was sorry, so he made this. She realized that the peace offering was his form of an apology to her.

"Thanks," she said looking at the two things in front of her - a rose, and a hot chocolate.

She gently lifted the rose and smelled it. It was incredibly sweet, just like the ones he gave to Beautifly. Except this time, for once, she knew it was for her.

She lightly blew on the dark brown liquid before taking a small sip of both the actual drink and a marshmallow.

"Peppermint?" She asked.

He nodded, taking a sip of his own while she smiled to herself. Thoughtful boy.

"So... Um," Drew started, mentally beating himself up. Of course, every time he actually had something he really needed to say, he choked or fumbled around for the words.

"Sorry for yelling at you," May said shakily, aware of the awkwardness that was staring to rise.

"I shouldn't have yelled at you, May," Drew told her, eyes still locked on his mug and the table in front of him. "You didn't do anything. "You're appetite isn't a problem, and the potions incident wasn't your fault. It was an accident, and if it was anyone's fault it was mine for scaring you," he braved.

"And the rain thing isn't your fault, either. Your right, those things take up a lot of room, and... Whether you care to realize it or not, I know you've been under a lot of pressure, especially with me being horrible at packing, cooking, map reading..."

"Wanna just say we're both sorry, and leave it behind us?" He asked.

She smiled. "Yeah."

-----------------------------

Moment like this, Drew realized, were getting more and more common. Where they'd just be with each other and talk without teasing and arguing and just hang out.

Sure he loved bickering with her, but this was nice as well, he knew, more than nice.

But more than anything, he lover her.

-----------------------------

Okay, this goes from funny, to angry, to sweet. (I hope.) weird.

By the way, I'm going camping with my girl scout troop tomorrow, (we're leaving about noon) and I haven't even watched the next episode(s) for Through Norman's Eyes yet.

I might have time int he morning, so the chapter will either be posted tomorrow, Sunday, (that's the day we get back) or Monday.

That being said, see ya!
