"Why did you do that?" Neela barged in. It's around eight in the evening as every Sunday evening Reyaansh is about to go to Prakash for a drink and for some good chatting.

"Do what?" Reyaansh nonchalantly replied watching for a tee to change into, facing the closet.

"You shouldn't have done this?" Neela reproved, towed his attention towards her. His mystified gaze landed upon her for few seconds.

"What it is Neela?" His forehead crinkled watching her gaping.

"Kabir I'm talking about" Neela crossed her arms over her chest, her demeanor filled with gall watching him.

"I like kabir. I thought him for Avni." His eyes calm at her, Finally he said the words Neela suspected he has thought exactly. But she wanted to heard it from him so that she could clear out the confusion and let the topic dissolve at the very beginning before it turns to the direction that could make many hearts break. She choose this time to talk to her husband when Avni and Kabir is out for Ayan's.

"It's not you. Say it's Mrs. Chatterjee. Wasn't she? " Neela scowled, every second her patience is thining. Very soon her demeanor would turn more concrete and harsh and may be she is going to regret her words she would snap next moment.

"No it's not. I like that boy" he looked away resumed his task searching Tee and he pulled one abruptly.

"Okay then look at me and say all of it on my face" there is no way she would let this go.

"God damn. Why are you making such a big deal out of it?" He said in a very irritated tone which rendered Neela grow persistent, more obstinate.

"So I'm right. Ain't I?" Her voice dangerously at edge when someone know she pushed the right button. His eyes blinked few time not able to match her at her intence stare.

"Neela you are making no sence. Now move. I'm getting late" he looked away added meekly.

"Avni love someone, there is a guy in her life already." This the last string she pulled to stop him. Neela knew she has to reveal it soon. There is a silence similar as someone has broken some hugely invested crockery set from china and no one can fix it, the money is total wasted now.

"Wait,
Like in a relationship?" His voice raspy, uncertain counting each syllable.

"Yes in a serious relationship" She assured scowling.

"What the hell? Since when? And you didn't bothered to tell me until now? " He is out of breath, ready to barge on her any second. His gaze stiff, voice accusative, high.

"I'm telling it now. Still you are not supposed to fulfill a dead person stupid wishes" holding a huge load of effing annoyance she barked at her husband, which is very unlikely her. She never raise voice. His gaze turned narrowed to pissed.

"Neela not always we can deny the truth" his tone low, stern.

"I'm the truth of my daughter's life, we the truth, no one else Reyaansh" she urged, her voice cracked slightly but Neela instantly gulped down that cry forming a lump in her throat. This is not the time to get emotional.

"Just stop your point less rambling and move" he glowered. Neela blocking his way to the washroom for change. The irony of the situation is he is going to talk this about to his only closest friend here is Prakash, the father of that guy, which he has already started plotting in his head in how many ways he could banish the guy out of his daughter's life.

"I won't. Until we are having this talking finished" her determined tone surprised him, she didn't move an inch away her spot.

"Who the hell she thinks she can decide her life?" Reyaansh challenged back, caused Neela look at him in disbelief, blew out a scornful scoff.

"She is an adult she can choose whoever she wants to live her life with" she retaliated immediately.

"It seems like you know him. Who is the guy?" He set his jaws asked Neela with his deadly glare slightly narrowed being doubtful. But she dodged it off.

"I don't care what were her wishes nor she even exist in Avni's life" she blurted totally ignoring his queries about the guy in his daughter's life.

"That's not you to decide. Who is the guy?" He repeated and Neela decided against telling him for the time being. Her blood boiled at his first sentence, her fist clenched being across her chest.

"She is dead. She has nothing to do with my daughter's life, her wishes, her future" she shout holding animosity in her tone this time and saw his eyes quivered at her harsh words and voice.

"For god sake Neela if you haven't forgotten it, let me remind you then...." He couldn't finish, his molar clenched.

"She is my daughter Reyaansh, our daughter....my bachha.." She said in a furious loud tone, her teeth grinned at the thought Reyaansh could be this unrealistic. What exactly was going in his brain when he thought of making such absurd, superfluous decision for their daughter's life? Thinking Neela fumed more. Her fist tightened picturing Avni suffering for her whole life for a stupid wish of a person who never accepted, nor concede Avni as her blood to her so called debonair, pristine society of highly educated, rich people.

Her whole body shivers every time this thought cross her mind_What that woman would have done to her baby if it wasn't Reyaansh who had brought that new born home, to Neela that night? Wouldn't she abundant her? Or leave her in some orphanage home? She would have definitely. Her blood boils at the image.....Avni that little innocent soul growing up all neglected being in those filthy homes all by herself. No child deserve to live in such places without love and care.
No way I'm going to make my daughter sacrifice her happiness for that woman who is nowhere during her each cry, her happiness, her pain, her laughter and those achievements she received throughout her career as well.

That woman has no right or place to make decisions for Avni, nor I would allow her when she is nowhere near in her life, or in this world. I wouldn't let her hurt my baccha anymore. I'm done with this 'past shit'. No way I would let her haunt our peace, and our present.

She is in hell or heaven. let her be there.

"Neela...listen baby...try to..." Reyaansh softened, attempted to take hold of her shoulder to stop get but she jerked off his touch and took a step farther. There is no way she would get emotional now.

"There is nothing to understand" she glowered.

And stating it like a final verdict Neela dashed out of the room leaving a distress looking Reyaansh behind.

"fuck...." Reyaansh cursed slamming the closet door making a loud sound which caused him himself flinch. Then an incredulous frown appeared over his forehead.

I need to talk all these to someone, who shall understand my perspective. Prakash. No one else I can talk to but he is the only person who knows every secret about my family, about Avni.

With a huge scowl on his face Reyaansh hurriedly changed into a pair of decent casual clothes, grabbed his ph and strode out of his room, out of his house.

Avni and Jui conversation over call.

She dropped Kabir at Ayan's. Kabir is going back, his flight will be around six in the evening. Good for him.
She parked her car at the road aside, near a regular Cafe.

She received Neil's text asking her to meet when on the way she was driving back home. She made an excuse to have some fresh air instead of going to Neil's condo a little late this evening, only the reason she wanted a peaceful chat with Jui as she is the only person to whom Avni can share her berserk heart and mind lately.

She badly need a girl to girl conversation. Well, to some extent Neil's comforting words wouldn't be enough help for her twitching nerves as the way her bestie can do to her. Sometimes we genuinely need a girl-advice.

"You really think you can do it all alone?" Jui said after having a detailed report about Avni's present status. Her voice laced with concern for her friend. Obviously She felt happy, elated and screamed over the speaker congratulating her closest friend when Avni gave her that news, but who can deny the fact that how difficult everything would be for Avni and Neil to proceed further from this point their relationship has reached, and it have not any legal declarant yet.

"I'm not alone, Neil is with me" Avni replied calmly.

"Why don't you talk to Ayan? He is a doctor he would understand you more than anyone else" Jui suggested dodging off to acknowledge Neil's support Avni mentioned. In her point of view Neil just isn't enough, yet she will need some more people in aid to make this situation under control. And in her view no one else but Ayan will be the best person to be on there with her. Because this is not abroad where people only concern about the baby instead of making a fuss over it is happening with or without marriage. Whereas Indian parents are just Indian, this society is inconsiderate, way too conservative or better to be said far backward with these kind of news. They never entertain a pregnant woman without knot.

"I don't think it would be a great idea. He is very close to Dad. What if he informs him?" Avni quitely added in panic.

"I don't think he is that immature" Jui immediately answered, reasoned on making sence to her proposition. Who knows better than her, that how sane, reliable, understanding of a person is Ayan, through her small but intense experiences she has with him.

"I can't think anymore" her voice somber. Avni sighed hopelessly.

"Avi don't take too much stress, it's not good for your health and your baby" Jui's worry out voice loud through the speaker.

"I know, I know..." She whispered, heaving a deep, ruminative breath. Avni scattered her gaze blankly through the windshield. She wish she could see through her future in a same way and take steps according to that? Sun has just dipped in the sky, it turned horizon a darker shade of orange. Soon it's gonna be dark outside. Some young girls and boys walked by, their giggle echoed around. The must be in college. A man helped a lady with a huge baby bump, very delicately he guided her climb down the car. Avni immediately tore off her eyes not wanting to cherish that view at this point, and immediately her absent minded state interrupted by Jui's voice.

"Trust me everything will be just well and good. You have me, Ayan and your Neil. It's a great news I'm still in an astounding state you won't believe. I'm actually having goosebumps all over my body" Jui breath out a mixture of brittle and animated giggle and Avni silently listened to that voice she felt she is missing to have there beside her in person instead over that little call.

"You always wanted this, your own family. Don't you?" Jui cheered up Avni. Finally those words of her and her contagious giggle managed bringing out a smile on Avni's face and her mood lightened up subduing the tension Avni is leaving since the news of her pregnancy got to her.

Yes I did, I do. Avni didn't replied. She silently nodded her head meaning it. Pulling her bottom lips in between her teeth she bit an enraptured sob her chest was fighting to break out of her, which Jui can't see but can decern well that her best friend is in hushed tears on the other side of Earth.
