A Battle of Love

Winter was coming in close and I needed to pick out my wedding dress but I haven't had the time for it. Rangiku was helping pack up things as I set a photo of my uncle on his desk. The desk was small, but no so much out of the way for anything.

Rangiku swiped the sweat off her forehead. "Why do all this effort for something so small?!"

I rolled my eyes at her. Rangiku could always be a drama queen. "Because I'm trying to honor my uncle's death."

"Huh? Really?"

"Why else would I have you move stuff out of his desk?"

"Because you're evil like that and love to see me suffer."

Honestly if there was a whacking stick I needed one right now for Rangiku's... behavior. "No I don't. Thank you for taking his stuff out of the desk."

Rangiku must have seen the sadness in my eyes because she hugged me, but thankfully didn't have my face buried in her boobs. "It's okay to cry you know. Things like this aren't all that easy. When Gin died I cried alone... people felt bad for me but I had to stay strong for Gin... even if he didn't leave anything behind to let me remember him... but my heart will forever remember him." She bent down and gave me a warm smile. "It's the same thing with your uncle. If you love him enough your heart will remember him, even if time has erased the memories you long for."

The emotion was so powerful from Rangiku's voice I knew she wasn't lying to me with every single breath. "Wow... thanks Rangiku..."

"You're welcome, hon. What are you doing to do without a third seat?"

"Just not have one. Like I said before, I will not have another third seat in my uncle's honor. Ichigo was worried about me over working myself but I told him I'll be fine."

Rangiku smiled and giggled. "You're so cute when you're sacrificing your needs for something good. If you want I'll help you!"

"I rather have Momo help me. I love you Rangiku, but you would get tired of the paperwork and just bolt out of there to relax and have a drink."

She giggled and finally let go of me. "You know me so well~ but let's talk real business here. Have you bought or looked for a wedding dress yet?"

The thought struck me. I've been so busy I didn't really think of wedding dresses... or how the wedding would start up. "Ummmm no..."

She sighed and fixed her hair, combing it through with her fingers. "Honestly you're hopeless without me."

"We should take Momo with us!"

"Hmmm... why not."

"Yay!" I grabbed Rangiku's hand and had us go into fifth company's office. Momo was sitting down doing paperwork while drinking tea. She must have been in a happy mood because she had a smile on her face while doing paperwork... who would smile during paperwork?

"Momo!" I called as her head snapped up. Her black, short bangs fell into her eyes as I giggled. "Do you want to help pick out a wedding dress with us?"

A small smile came onto her face, lighting up the warm honey colors of her eyes. "Sure! I'll finish paperwork when we come back!"

Giggle broke out into the air as I turned back to Rangiku. "What are you laughing at?"

Momo blushed and looked away when Rangiku said the reason. "She's probably happy because Captain and her kissed this morning."

Shock bolted through me. Momo and Toshiro dating?! When did this happen?! "Wha?! You're dating Toshiro? When did this happen...?"

She smiled and fixed her bangs before looking me in the eyes. "It happened a while back when your birthday came around. I've been keeping it a secret and Rangiku only know about it, but now you but I don't really mind if you know."

"Why do you keep it a secret?"

Momo sighed, a distant look in her eyes. "People don't really agree with us dating because of what.... happened during the war with Aizen... Toshiro stabbed me around the heart... but it was a illusion Aizen put up and made Toshiro mad.... or what Rangiku and everyone well says... I was passed out when it happened..."

"But the good news is those two love birds finally hooked up!" Rangiku hugged her, slightly nuzzling her cheek. "Captain and you look so cute together! I even caught a picture of you two kissing on your first date~"

"R-Rangiku!" Momo's face burst with embarrassment, you could feel the heat coming off of her body. "P-Please destroy it!"

"I wanna see it!"

"Here it is~!" Rangiku pulled it out of her pocket (if you know what I mean) and showed it to me.

Momo threw a fit and started throwing stuff at us, but I didn't care and laughed when she was too short to reach it from out grasp. If Toshiro treated Momo right then I would be alright with that... but... who was this Aizen character...?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Momo finally calmed down, but would ignore us sometimes when we asked her questions. Hopefully she wouldn't be like this all day once we entered into the shop. Rangiku had them measure me out and decide on the dress.
Was I nervous? Strangely yes. Because this was going to be a dress that would be forever in photos taken by other people, and even in are wedding photos. It still wonders to be today what a miracle it was that I found my soul mate, who has orange hair, but still handsome with it on.
When the stream tress were done they had me close my eyes while helping me in the dress. It was easy to tell it was made of silk by the way the dress sounded and felt. They told me to open my eyes, and when I did, I almost cried of joy.
The dress was so beautiful and elegant... just like a princess would wear. The sheen of gold along with the color of black blended perfectly in. The bow at the back was a bit tight, but elegant in every way and shape of form. I twirled into a big circle and the dress floated around with me, giving it a ball room style of style to the Japanese dress (dress in the picture)
Rangiku smiled in pure joy and Momo's eyes were shining in happiness like her friend. "You're so pretty! No-even beautiful as a goddess! Ugh, I wish I looked good in that thing, you totally rock it (y/n)."
"Yeah! The colors just fit your (h/c) hair just right! Along with your (e/c)... if Ichigo doesn't love you in this something wrong with him." Momo said, giving me a thumbs up.
The smile on my face grew twice the size of before. "Thank you both..."
"Payment?" The stream tress asked.
"Oh ummm... Rangiku can you give me my coin purse?"
"Sure." She searched for my coin pocket and grabbed it, but eyes widen when she opened it. "Holy crap! Where do you get this money?!"
"Well I get my money, but Ichigo gives me some of his money in case of an emergence."
"Geez... Ichigo is more loaded than I thought... all this money can buy my three mansions!"
I rolled my eyes at her. "It's not that much. Just give her the money please. I have to get to work now, lunch is almost here and I have to deliver paperwork to third company."
"Alright, alright!"
After Rangiku payed the girl helped me hide the wedding dress from Ichigo as Rangiku put it under her desk in her office. I started running/ flash-stepping towards the office in a hurry, I know I said I wanted to work alone... but I needed to plan more things ahead!
Turning into a sharp corner I scream when I collided into something solid, more hard than a rock. "Ouch! What the hell?!"
A long wave of black hair first entered my vision while I looked up. It was a man who looked like he could win any battle with the sheer force of a single swipe of his sword. The eye-patch around his eyes gave away who he was before the devil could lock his gaze on me.
"Looky what we have here." Deeply and powerful were in his voice, enough to make shiver in my sandals. "A girl soul reaper who looks like Kurosaki's fiance."
"S-Sir," The fear in my voice was easily noticeable. "You are blocking the way... may I please get through?"
If I'd run this guy would just track me all around the soul society without a break. Maybe this guy was the devil... because of the smile he gave me after telling him...
"No," A sick, twisted smile of power carved into his face. "Not until you fight me!"
That sword came out of nowhere and my eye widen as I watched the sword come down on me. If angels were strawberries mine was... Ichigo stood between us, zanpukto in hand as it blocked Zenpachi swing.
Ichigo growled annoyed at the man as he pushes Kenpachi away from us. "If I catch you ever trying to harm an unarmed soul reaper then I will press charges on you."
He held me close to his body as Kenpachi's towering body looked down at us. "Hpm. Fine, Head Captain Kurosaki." When his gaze landed on my all I could think of was Hell. "Until next time, little soul reaper."
The huge giant flash-stepped away as I let in a sigh of relief. Ichigo turned around and started gently looking me over. "Are you alright?"
"Yes I'm alright."
He nodded. "Good. I can't believe Kenpachi finally found you. He really is bad at follow directions for his spiritual pressure."
"Yeah... but I also got my wedding dress!"
A goofy grin came over his face as he hugged me. "That's great!"
Red hair came into view as Renji popped in. "What are you two doing here on the training field? This isn't a place to be making out at."
I blush while Ichigo growled and snapped at Renji. "Shut the hell up! I don't talk that way with Rukia around you!"
"That's because Rukia will kill you and you know it."
"Just leave us alone!"
"Ichigo..." I spoke up, "Why don't we train together?"
Shock was plastered onto his face. "What? Where is this coming from?"
"Well I love you and all, but I just want to see how powerful you really are when you fight against someone. I think it would be cool and awesome to learn about."
"Yeah Ichigo!" Renji bumped his shoulder, "Show her you're the man."
Ichigo looked back and forth between us, debating on what to do. He finally sighed and hesitatingly reached for his zanpukto behind him. "Fine, I'll battle you but I'll only go half power."
"Yay!"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

People cleared out of the training grounds for us, whispering to one another at the excitement that will unfold to them. Ichigo let the white lining around his zanpukto fall away. He stood a guard stance and pointed this sword at me, the tip gleaming deadly.

I smirked and whispered to my zanpkuto as my shikai released. Ichigo suddenly took off and clashed sword with me. I gasped the amount of strength he had, and this was only half of it. A growl came from my throat as I tried to push him back and did, but managed to cut his sleeve but it didn't cut into his skin.

His sword began to glow blue, very faintly, but enough for me to notice as we clashed and hit again. The darkness coming from my sword was doing little to no damage onto him. An opening came as I quickly grabbed the ending of my hilt and sliced upwards. A long gash was across his solid chest, but that didn't stop him as he rose his sword up to the heavens.

"Getsuga Tenshou!"

A huge wave of pure blue energy released from the edges of his sword. My eyes widen as I held my sword in a defense pose and let it clash onto my sword. A feeling of hands caught my attention as Akumu was right behind me, protecting me with waves of darkness.

When the dust cleared Ichigo smirked to see I was alright, "Now it's going to get harder." He held his zanpukto out and rest his hand on his other arm. "bankai!"

The amount of power from his bankai was incredible... this was only half of it. When the dust cleared around him he had a new look, but I've already seen it around him. He held his sword up and began to charge his powers. "Release your Bankai as well."

I looked back at Akumu as she nodded. She formed into my shadow as I screamed my bankai as well. Blue and black mixed together, creating a spark of energy between. The darkness inside my sword was charged up around the same time Ichigo was. The look we shared between us was a stare we both would never forget.

Everyone around us had to hold onto something as Ichigo's Gestuga Tensou was fighting against my powers. To my horror my feet began to slowly go backwards, but I couldn't give up yet. In the end, I lost the will to control my powers, but I could barely dodge the oncoming Gestuga Tensou.

It grazed my cheek just barley as a stream of blood ran down the side of my face. Everyone cheered for us as I returned my bankai back to its shikai form, panting at the amount of power my bankai takes.

Ichigo gently lifted me up and checked over my cheek. "I didn't mean to hurt you. Just remember to train more with your bankai. If you can then we'll have a rematch one day."

Joy sprung inside me as I nodded my head. "That sounds great. Since you hurt me you'll have to pay for lunch."

He rolled his eyes. "I was going to anyway."

I giggled and twined our hands together, while walking to the lunch area and day dreaming about the month left until the hands we hold will hold the rings to be our love and future... forever with my strawberry.
