Part 8 — Welcome...Guests

"I see what you mean," Zap whispered to Xin, as he saw Britney and Chris on the other side of the doorway. Chris towered over Britney, who in comparison to Chris was a child.

"Hey, Xin!" Britney said. She looked to Zap. "So this is your roomate?" She bounced towards Zap and shook his hand. "I've been waiting to meet you!" Zap shifted his eyes towards Xin. Help me, he mouthed.

Xin silently shook her head. "Yeah. Britney, Chris, this is my roomate, Zap. Zap, these are our neighbors, Britney and Chris."

"Neighbors?" Zap whispered in her ear. She nodded.

"Huh. Well,nice to meet you two!" Zap said, taking a slight step back. "Do come in."

"With pleasure. It's great to meet you for the first time," Chris said, walking in with Britney.

Zap walked with Xin behind them, having a small conversation. "I should've come back sooner."

"It's not that bad," Xin said. "But yeah, it's pretty weird." They saw Chris and Britney take seats at the dining table, ready to have a conversation. Zap stood back. "I'll...make breakfast. Do you—"

"We've eaten," Britney said. "Thanks, though." Zap shrugged and started preparing breakfast for Xin and himself.

Nothing happened until later in the day, at 7:30 PM, when they heard the doorbell ring. Zap went to open the door and saw Jessica. "Phone stolen! Couldn't call you! We have to go now!" As Xin walked over to the door to see what the matter was, Zap was quickly grabbing his bag and a key. He tossed his coat over his shoulder and followed Jessica, closing the door behind him. Well then... now I'm stuck with these two. Xin walked over to talk with Britney and Chris, while Zap and Jessica were running towards a faraway building.
