One year and seven months ago

"So, tell me about this Bellamy that you've been hiding from us," Freya requested. Aleta was sat in her friend's living quarters, the two working on an assignment. "What?" Aleta questioned. Freya rolled her eyes and scoffed, "I only saw him once and Clarke keeps talking about him because you keep talking about him but you don't talk about him with me. You've bene hanging out with a lot lately. Clarke thinks you like him."

Aleta feigned confusion, "I don't know what boy you're talking about. I haven't been keeping him a secret or anything."

"So how come I don't know anything about him?" Freya said and Aleta sighed. "Look, Frey, there's nothing to tell you about. He's just my friend," she finally said.

"I wanna know more. Tell me!" Freya demanded with a laugh. "He's just someone I met at the clinic. He needed stitches and I gave him stitches," Aleta answered nonchalantly. "Can you tell me something I don't know? What's he like?" Freya questioned. Aleta rolled her eyes again. "He's nice," she deadpanned.

"Was he always nice or was he mysterious?" Freya shot next and Aleta rolled her eyes, yet again. "Okay, first of all, this isn't one of those old novels about a bad, mysterious boy falling for the nice girl. And to answer your question, no. He was a complete jerk when I met him. But, he apologized and we're friends," Aleta responded.

"Do you think he's cute? Because when I saw him, damn he was fine as hell," Freya said, pretending to fan herself before leaning in closer to the girl. Aleta felt heat on her cheeks and looked down. "Does Aleta have a crush?" Freya jokingly mocked. "No, Aleta doesn't," the younger girl replied. "Yes you do. You think he's cute," Freya stated. "Just because I think he's cute doesn't mean I like him," Aleta defended.

"So you do think he's cute!" The redhead exclaimed and Aleta face palmed. "Yes, okay. I think he's cute. So what? I don't like him," Aleta groaned. "But I know you. And you like him. I can tell," Freya said causing Aleta to sigh. "If I did like him, which I don't, but if I did, it's not like he'd like me back," Aleta said quietly with a shrug.

"And why not? You're a hot and intelligent 17 year old girl. You're funny and amazing. Any and every guy would be lucky to have someone like you. Bellamy is lucky to have you as a friend and I hope that, if you do like him, that you'll tell him," Freya said with a smile. Aleta smiled too, blushing at the compliment, "Thanks, Freya." Freya shook her head. "Don't thank me. Just go tell him how you feel," she told her, giving her a supportive smile.

Aleta nodded, a sarcastic smile on her lips before rolling her eyes yet again. "I don't like him," she reiterated and Freya narrows her eyes. After another hour passed, Aleta got up to leave. She gave Freya a brief hug goodbye before leaving the room. She journeyed to the library where she had plans to meet with Bellamy. When she got there, she sauntered to the very back, sat at their table, and waited for him to arrive.

She thought over Freya's words and wondered if they were true. If she did, in fact, have feelings for Bellamy. The thought alone caused warmth to erupt in her stomach. It spread throughout the entirety of her body. A sigh escaped her lips and she shook her head, pushing the thought out of her mind. She was just thinking too far into things. There was no way that she liked him, not like that. Besides, it's not like she'd known him for that long. Freya had no idea what she was talking about.

Aleta waited impatiently for Bellamy to arrive. She glanced down at the watch that clung to her wrist numerous times. He was a lot later than he usually was, which was odd for Bellamy. The longer she waited, the more fed up she became. When it had almost reached the one hour mark, Aleta stood from the seat and marched out of the library.

She let her mind wander to possible scenarios as to why Bellamy hadn't shown up. They were all crazy and implausible but then again, anything was possible. Aleta quickly walked down the hallways of the Ark as she tried to get home. "Aleta! Hey Aleta, wait up!" A male voice called.

The girl slows to a stop and turns to the owner of the voice. "I'm not in the mood, Elijah," she informed before turning on her heel and continuing on her journey. She could hear his footsteps trailing after her but she didn't slow her stride. "Damn you walk fast," he muttered slightly out of breath, now walking beside her. When she didn't respond, he huffed in annoyance.

"What's up with you?" He asked curiously and Aleta groaned. "Nothing important. I just want to get home," she answered. "Well no one's stopping you," he said and she scoffed. "Uh, you kinda are," she replied.

He gasped in mock offense. "What, I can't want to hang out with my favorite person?" He asked causing her to smirk. "I thought Nathan was your favorite person," she commented, wiggling her eyebrows suggestively. Elijah blushed and pushed her shoulder with a scowl. "Shut up you troll," he insulted.

"Troll? Is that the best you can come up with?" She questioned in amusement. He glared hard at her. "I'm gonna go because you've upset me," he said, turning away and walking in the opposite direction. "Bye, you big baby!" Aleta called. He raised his middle finger in the air but didn't turn around, continuing to stomp away. Aleta chuckled and shook her head before she restarted her journey home.

Four days later, Aleta sat alone on the Observation Deck, reading a book that was written in French. Aleta had a strange love for languages and was always trying to learn new ones. People thought it was weird because it wasn't like she was going to use it anywhere. Aleta thought of it as her way of keeping the languages alive. She was a quick study when it came to languages she had become fluent five others, besides English, so far: Spanish, French, Mandarin, Greek, and Italian. She wanted to learn Arabic, Latin, and Sign Language next.

Her back was leaned up against a wall, her body facing the side with her knees pulled up to her chest. She was still pissed that Bellamy blew her off and intended to ignore his existence for the time being. So, she avoided him to the best of her abilities. Doing this was much easier than she thought it would be. She just hoped that she could continue to steer clear of the the freckled faced boy.

Maybe she was overreacting just a little, but she hadn't heard anything from the boy regarding the library incident. He didn't attempt to reach out to her at first but when he did, he acted as if nothing had happened. As if they had never planned to meet on that day. That sheer fact irked her in the very depths of her being. She received no explanation from Bellamy and that's what pissed her off.

Aleta could hear footsteps walking toward her but she ignored them, deeming it as someone walking past. The footsteps stopped directly in front of her and a person cleared their throat. The girl looked up and then frowns when her blue eyes meet his brown ones.

"You've been avoiding me," Bellamy stated, a frown etched into his features. "I don't know what you're talking about," Aleta denied, returning her attention to the notebook in her lap. "You know exactly what I'm talking about," Bellamy said as he sat down across from her. She shook her head and kept her eyes on the book.

Bellamy sighed and snatched the book out of her lap. She looked up at him with narrowed eyes. "What do you want?" She snapped. "What the hell is your problem?" He asked angrily. "My problem?" She asked back incredulously. "Yes. Your problem. I'm trying to have a conversation with you and figure out what's going on and you're blowing me off!" He exclaimed.

"Oh, like you blew me off?" She hissed angrily. "What are you talking about?" He asked. "The library. Where you were supposed to meet me like four days ago so that I could tell you about the stupid country that I found," she yelled. She didn't understand why this made her so angry, it just did. Maybe it was because he got her so into this whole country thing. She just wanted to tell him all about the knew one that caught her attention: India. Unfortunately, he wasn't there for her to share it with.

A look of realization came across his face and he looked away, the anger quickly dissipating. "What? You don't have any excuses to spew?" Aleta questioned in irritation causing Bellamy to sigh. "I forgot about that," he muttered. "Really? Who would've guessed?" She asked sarcastically. "I'm sorry," he said sincerely and Aleta scoffed. "Whatever," she responded as she grabbed the book.

The girl stood from the bench and quickly gathered her belongings. She wanted to get out of there before things got even more heated. The confrontation was already making her uncomfortable as it was. Aleta spun on her heel and briskly made her way to the exit. Her dark locks swished behind her as she walked determinedly toward the way she came in, desperately trying to get away from the boy.

"Aleta, wait," Bellamy called and she whipped her head around so quickly, he feared she would get whiplash.

"For what? Are you gonna explain yourself?" She questioned. Bellamy looked away from her again and at his hands, wringing them together nervously. "I had something to take care of," he answered quietly. "You always have 'something to take care of'. What exactly do you always have to take care of?" Aleta exclaimed. He shook his head and didn't answer, his eyes never meeting hers. "Thank you, Bellamy Blake, for successfully wasting my time. Again," she said, rolling her eyes.

"Why are you making such a big deal out of this?" Bellamy asked loudly. Aleta turned around and began taking long strides toward the exit, Bellamy was quick on her heels. "Don't walk away from me," he said, though he wasn't angry. "Leave me alone Bellamy. I don't want to talk to you," she replied, her irritation growing with each passing second.

Bellamy took ahold of her arm and turned her around to face him. "This has to do with a lot more than me not showing up at the library. Tell me what's wrong," Bellamy said, his eyes were pleading. He just wanted to understand what was wrong. He wanted to know why she was angry at him.

Aleta ripped her arm out of his grasp and glared at him. "I have no idea what you're talking about. And honestly, I don't care. Just leave me alone," she said and she turned to walk away, once again.

Bellamy gripped onto her forearm again and turned her around to face him. "If you don't let go of my arm I will slap you in your pretty little face," she threatened, her voice was hard and dangerous. He smirked slightly, "You think I'm pretty?" She narrowed her eyes at him and attempted to pull her arm from his grasp again.

He sighed, "Leti, what's wrong? Come on, talk to me." This time, he was actually pleading. She looked away from him. "I don't know what's wrong, Bellamy. I'm stressed with everything going on at the clinic and with my parents constantly pushing me. I have so much on my plate all the time and when I finally get free time to hang out with my friend, he doesn't even show up and gives me no explanation as to why. Like, you completely blew me off and all I get is, 'I had something to take care of'? That's bullshit Blake. Not to mention I'm irritable. Obviously. Plus I wanna punch everything, including you. Especially you," she started.

"I don't think me not showing up to the library is a big deal," Bellamy admitted.

Aleta laughed harshly, " You don't think it's a big deal? You got me so excited about this stupid idea with the dumb countries and then you blew me off and won't tell me why. You asshole. What the fuck is up with that?" Bellamy sighed quietly, "It's complicated." She ignored him and continued speaking.

"I don't want to seem like some annoying, whiny little brat who complains about everything. I'm totally coming off that way aren't I? I don't know what's wrong with me or why I care so much," she admitted. Bellamy shrugged, "Maybe you care so much because that's the kind of person you are." Aleta looked at him blankly, her mind not registering any of the words leaving his mouth. She was too busy trying to gather her own thoughts and get everything that she had to say out. So she, once again, disregarded his words.

"Not to mention my friend Freya said something to me a few days ago and it confused me. I don't know if what she said was true or not but it could explain why I'm overreacting and stuff," she concluded and let out a breath. "What did your friend say?" Bellamy asked curiously. This question seemed to snap Aleta back to reality as the words reached her ears and the gears in her brain began turning again.

Aleta froze in her spot and mentally face palmed for revealing that piece of information to him. She didn't expect him to ask that question, though. She didn't think he would pry. She just didn't think. Then again, it was Bellamy Blake after all. The nosiest person she's ever met.

The brunette girl avoided his eyes, "I don't want to talk about it. Especially not with you."

Bellamy furrowed his eyebrows, "Why not?" She remained quiet and he released an aggravated sigh. "Why are you being so difficult, Aleta?" He questioned. Once again, he was met with silence. "What's the big deal, huh? Why won't you tell me?" He asked, trying to keep his voice leveled.

"Because it was about you," she blurted and mentally face palmed again. "What about me?" He pressed. He gave her a look that said 'spill' but she shook her head. "I won't leave you alone until you tell me," Bellamy stated firmly. Aleta glared at him and he only smiled in response.

"She thinks that I like you, as more than just a friend. And I told her that I didn't. But she thinks that I do and then she confused me and now I don't know anymore because I've only ever seen you as a friend and it's weird. I mean, we're friends and that's how we've been for the past few months andโ€”"

"Aleta?" Bellamy cut her off. She stopped speaking and looked up at him. "I like you too," he said. She was instantly taken aback by his words. For a split second, she thought he was joking. But when she looked into his eyes, his stupidly beautiful brown eyes, she knew that he wasn't. Her heart rate began to pick up and so did his as he awaited her response. "O-oh?" Was all she could get out.

"Yeah," he said. She bit her lip. She didn't know what to say or what to do. Bellamy smiled lightly. "Can I, can I kiss you?" He stuttered out. Aleta blinked a few times before her head was nodding and Bellamy was placing his warm hands on her face and pressing his lips to hers and they were kissing.

Bellamy kissed her gently but with an urgency that made Aleta want to kiss him forever. His thumbs rubbed against her cheekbones, which caused goosebumps to rise on her skin. He pulled away from her and kept his eyes closed as he pressed his forehead against hers.

Aleta smiled sheepishly, opening her eyes slowly. He opened his eyes after she did and looked at her in a way that made butterflies erupt in her stomach. "You have no idea how badly I've wanted to kiss you," Bellamy admitted in a whisper.

"I'm really glad you did," she replied and he smiled widely. "So I guess those confused feelings that you were feeling before aren't so confusing," he smirked. She shook her head. "No, they're still extremely confusing. Even more so now but I really liked kissing you. It was nice. And I'm gonna stop talking now," she rambled.

Bellamy chuckled before a fond smile rested on his lips. "I'm gonna take you on a date. People used to do that on Earth," he told her and Aleta nodded. She pulled away from him and smiled. The smile soon fell and a small frown overtook her face. "What's wrong?" Bellamy questioned in mild concern.

"Nothing! It's just that, uh," Aleta trailed off nervously. "It's just what?" Bellamy urged her to continue. "It's just that, I've never been on a date or had a boyfriend or anything," she admitted sheepishly. "Who said anything about being your boyfriend?" He replied, a cocky smirk overtaking his face.ย  She hit his shoulder but the action didn't phase him. "Since I'm practically spilling all of my deepest darkest secrets to you," Aleta began and Bellamy rolled his eyes at her dramatics. "I'll be honest, I'm glad you'll be my first date."

He grinned, a big, stupid grin. "Me too. Now, I'll also get to be your last," he said. Aleta cocked her head to the side. "And what makes you think that?" She asked him.

His grin turned into a soft smile. "Because, I'm gonna make sure that I make you happy. And, that you never have a reason to want to be with someone else," he answered honestly.

She grinned, a big stupid grin. She then stepped closer to Bellamy and kissed him again. He smiled into the kiss and pulled her closer. After a while, she pulled away and looked up at him.

Maybe Freya did know what she was talking about.
