"Oh, thank you!" Jody laughed as Daniel poured some red wine for her. "Keep it coming."

Bryce saw the look on Amanda's face, though she hid it with humor. He cut in. "I drove, so she's all good."

"Yeah, my kind of woman." Johnny hummed, knocking his beer with her glass.

"Oh, I didn't know you were a LaRusso now, Sensei Lawrence." Bryce mocked in his direction. "Long lost child?"

"He reminds me of you in high school." Jody said honestly as she smacked Johnny on the chest.

Bryce cleared his throat slightly. Daniel laughed. "Different days."

"Very." Jody agreed. "Amanda, I can't believe we've never got to talk before."

"I've been meaning to pry some information out of you about this one in high school." she teased, nodding toward Daniel. "I heard you too were together."

Daniel choked on his drink as Jody laughed loudly, clapping. Bryce rubbed his hands onto his thighs, feeling Sam reach over and slip her hand into his.

"About as weird then as he is now." Jody informed her as Amanda smiled. "Aw, no, no, he's a good one. Put up with me longer then he needed to."

"Well, the second I saw Bryce break out of his shell, it wasn't hard to piece two and two together." Daniel said honestly as he looked toward the boy next to Sam. "It felt like I was teaching Miyagi-Do all over again."

"Wait." Sam spoke up, looking at Jody. "You learned Miyagi-Do?"

"Oh, your dad taught me a little something here and there." she waved her off. "But, if I remember, he was actually in C-"

"Cobra Kai, yeah." Daniel nodded his head. "But, Jody did help me and Mr.Miyagi with the bonsai store."

"Such a cool old guy." Jody hummed, sipping off her wine, nodding toward Sam and Bryce. "History always repeats itself."

"Mom." Bryce gave an embarrassed look while Johnny laughed.

"How's business anyways? With all those automobiles?" Jody waved, taking the bottle and pouring more wine.

"Uh, the dealership's been the best it's been in years." Daniel nodded his head, holding his fork in his right hand. "It should practically be on autopilot by the time Sam takes over. Right?"

Bryce turned his head to her. "Since when do you like cars?"

"No, no, it's just an inside joke." Daniel cut in with a faint laugh. "When Sam was little, she used to walk around like she owned the place."

"Can you blame her? She was practically raised on that showroom floor." Amanda spoke honestly, giving Jody a knowing look. "Almost born on it too."

"Hey, whatever Sam wants to do with her life, that's entirely up to her." Daniel shook his head, Sam gave Bryce hand a little squeeze. "If she decides to go to school nearby, get her MBA, USC, UCLA, i'm just saying...it's all icing on the cake."

Bryce glanced over and Sam saw was fighting to keep a smile on her face. He moved his leg over to brush it against hers.

"Bryce, Sam says you guys have been studying a lot." Amanda looked his way, Bryce took his eyes off her daughter. "So, you're doing better now?"

"Oh, a lot better. I mean, not her level of genius, but better." he cracked a charming grin.

"Have you thought about college any?" Daniel looked at him with a hum, taking a bite of his food. "Or it's not your thing?"

"Sorta. I haven't narrowed it down or anything but it kinda depends on the SAT scores." Bryce pointed out with a knowing look.

"You don't seem like a college dude." Johnny said honestly, popping his beer bottle cap his way.

"Well, maybe i'm not." Bryce did it back, surprised with himself that he could do it. "Not in a rush."

"He just likes to go surfing and show off his car." Jody joked with a half grin. "And now his dog, Picasso."

"Yes, we have met Picasso." Amanda confirmed, looking around for any sight of the boy. "Wherever he is now."

"Surfing, huh? I've never heard you mention it before." Daniel looked at him in questioning. "Is it a new thing?"

Bryce cleared his throat, glancing at his mom. "It's been a while, almost a year actually. My dad got me into it."

"It's a cool hobby to have." Daniel nodded to ease Bryce's discomfort and Jody's embarrassment from not remembering the dates. Sam tightened her hand in Bryce's quickly.

"Where is he taking us?" Nate complained as Johnny had control over the Miyagi-Dos for the day, the group hiking a massive flight of stairs already.

Demetri panted. "Nowhere good."

Bryce was behind Sam, the view about the only thing keeping him going.

"I heard he drowned a kid in a pool trying to teach him how to kick, and that was before he sent a rabid dog on Eli." Demetri went on, looking at Bryce. "You're probably next."

Bryce's eyes widened, taking a breath. "Why would you say that to me?"

"It seems logical to go for the brother first!" Demetri tossed his hands up.

"Yeah, and not the boyfriend?" Bryce scoffed, reaching over and giving his left nipple a twist.

"Ow! Did you just purple my nurple?" he asked in disbelief.

"Let's go, Miyagis! Move your asses!" Johnny yelled from, at least, a floor above them.

"Come on." Sam panted, pulling Bryce by the arm as they made it to the open door Johnny had walked through minutes prior. He lead them toward the end of the roof, their eyes falling over the side to see two dirty mattresses on the ground. Demetri sighed. "Oh, God. I'm tired of being right."

Bryce looked over the edge. "I use to hide up here."

"What?" Sam gave an odd look.

"Look." he nodded toward the side of the building, spray painted art all over. "When the cops would show up i'd balance on the ledge so they never knew it was me."

Sam went to talk, shaking her head and turning to Johnny instead . "What are we doing here?"

"When an eagle's hungry, it doesn't hesitate." he walked down the line, eyeing Bryce heavily. "They'll dive down at 100 miles an hour to snatch its prey. Doesn't wait around for a fish to just in its feet."

"Talons." Demetri corrected him.

"It's not talent. It's instinct." Johnny corrected him back.. "An eagle knows it has to make the first move. If you want to beat Cobra Kai in the All Valley, you gotta break yourself of this wait-and-see crap."

"And how exactly are we gonna do that?" Sam asked, adjusting the bag on her shoulder.

Johnny stared at her. "You're gonna jump from this roof to that one."

"If I wanted to die, i'd have just moved in with you." Bryce locked toward the blonde.

Sam gapped. "What? Are you crazy?"

"That building is, like, five Nate's away and we're at least fourteen Nate's high." Demetri explained, looking over the edge in pure disbelief.

Nate cringed. "Please don't use me as a system of measurement."

"Quiet!" Johnny yelled, making them all jump.

"If you want to be an eagle, first you gotta learn how to fly." the Lawrence man said confidently with a raise of his light brows. "And you can't do that unless you jump."

"What if we fall?" the boy on the other side of Nate asked.

"That's what the mattresses are for." Johnny shrugged their way, pointing down to the two queen sized mattresses.

Bryce looked over the ledge. "This is an insane idea, even for me."

"I figured you'd like this." Johnny slapped his chest. "Punk rock."

The blue eyed boy gapped. "What is punk rock about committing accidental suicide?"

"And if we miss the mattresses?" Demetri tossed his hands in his direction stupidly.

"Try not to." he shrugged in return. "All right, who's first?"

The group was still and silent, the honking from the streets all that heard. Johnny put his hands on his hips. "We're not leaving until someone jumps. Let's go. I'll wait."

"Then I guess you'll be waiting a long time. Cause we're not jumping." Sam announced, speaking for the group as she held her backpack. Her hand wrapped around Bryce's elbow, pulling him toward the bench with her.

Minutes had past, and Johnny became annoyed. "Aren't you suppose to not be a pussy?"

"I'm not a pussy." Bryce defended himself.

"So jump." Johnny motioned forward.

"He's not jumping." Sam cut in with a glare. "You're insane."

"You gonna let a girl talk for you your entire life?" the blonde man gave a questionable look. "What's the problem, LaRusso? Don't tell me you're scared of heights."

"I'm not scared." she said back with a judging look.

"Then what is it? Scared you're gonna mess up your hair?" he mocked her in the slightest, Bryce rolled his eyes.

"My dad wouldn't want us doing this." she said back after she gave her own offended look.

"Oh, gimme a break. You do everything your mommy and daddy tell you to? I know you don't or else you wouldn't be with this one." Johnny pushed Bryce's head, getting his hand pushed away.

"We're not together." Bryce pointed out. "And for your information, Amanda and Daniel love me."

"If they told you to jump off a bridge, would you?" Johnny looked back at Sam.

"You're telling me to jump off a building." she gapped at him.

"Yeah, onto another building." he looked in disbelief.

"Risking her life in the process." Bryce added in with a stupid look. "Back off."

"Oh, I see." Johnny nodded. "You just do everything your boyfriend tells you to do."

"I don't tell her what to do." Bryce stood up with a look. "You know, unlike your student does when he's drunk and freaks the hell out because she's got a guy friend."

"Hey, don't you talk shit on Miguel!" Johnny defended the boy.

"Why shouldn't I?" he shrugged. "That's what we do, right? Hate each other and over night are expected to get along?"

"Oh, so this is where all this attitude comes from?" the Lawrence man laughed slightly. "You're scared that Diaz is gonna move in on your girl."

"What?" Bryce laughed in disbelief. "I am not. And she's not my-"

He was cut off by Johnny gapping, the two turning to see Sam jump off the building. Bryce could have sworn his heart dropped, breathing normally when she made it to the other side and stood up with a smile. "Yeah, LaRusso!"
